  • Very good videos! You wear interesting shirts but what if you wore the SAME shirt with your website in bold letters? You might get a lot more traffic in your store. Keep rock'in.

  • @MrPhotodoc In my store?

  • Oh my God, you talked. Lol, you're awesome by the way.

  • thanks

  • I really wanna watch this tutorial but those shorts are risky

  • Dude what amp settings are you using plzzz enlighten me i am total cake there!!

  • You are my favourite guitar player on youtube, learned so much from your video's. Helped me to find my way as a guitarist.. thank you for your nice video's and keep on the good work!

  • I play the last chord in the opening riff 0077--,ring-pinky

  • pretty awsome! i'm still learning. at the begining stages.

  • Hey...the ascending riff, the riff for the verses of the song, aren't the way that Page plays it. Watch 'It Might Get Loud.". His hands move down the neck, there is no anchor note on the A string like you're playing.

  • @mattsmith0209 There are plenty of videos (75, 77, 79, 88) and hundreds of still photos of Zeppelin playing Kashmir. You can see pretty clearly how Jimmy played it.

  • @privettricker I think you said you had a wife. An awesome one to be exact, lol. Have you taught her to play guitar? Thanks for the lesson, by the way.

  • @thehobbit1116 My wife is one of those people who can pick up any instrument and get a song out of it after 15 minutes. I taught her a handful of Buddy Holly tunes and she picked them up instantly. I'm almost afraid to teach her any more, because she'll be better than me in a few months.

  • @privettricker haha, I'm like that. Thanks for replying.

  • I like you

  • Your video's great, but DUDE you gotta stop chewing on your nails man- nasty!

  • @sowhatdude1 I don't chew them, actually. I rip them short, ever since having a string slide up under a nail about 20 years ago during a gig -- ripped my nail off completely. Since then, I don't keep long nails any more.

  • What are the settings you're using in the amp?

  • great vid. thanks.

  • Your video was VERY HELPFUL!!!!! Thanks for posting!!!

  • nice ax

  • Thanks for the details.

  • I read your comment on the quilt video, "the minute you start doing it for money it becomes work, and work sucks" so thank you for the lessons! I guess a thumbs up will be your payment :P

  • What effects are you using

  • @jackpotmegaman None, just straight into the amp.

  • You are GOOD brother!!!

  • White Summer tutorial! That is my all time favorite song, a very beautiful piece.

  • listen too and lovin this song for 30 years....

    and Now.....I Can Play It....

    thanks BroMan....jam on...

  • pt, you make this stuff so fun it should probably be illegal. Thanks for another great tutorial!

  • Ok, now do a cover on White Summer/ Black Mountain Side :D

  • Superb Lesson!!!! I never knew these seemingly complex riffs are actually somewhat simple. Thanks for breakin' it down so nicely.

  • love the shirt! lol

  • Outstanding lesson...thank you!!!

  • Great vid, perfect lesson, you should ..... if you don't give lessonss. A1 ++++job. well done DADGAD is correct

  • One of the bestt intros ¡¡¡

  • Thank you Sir! Awesome lesson.

  • Wow, that tone of yours really is freakin awesome! So massive

  • most thorough dude, thanks for that explanation about coming in on the riff @ second bar after chords......but also the Gminor chord @ the bridge......great help

  • what kind of guitar is that? I know its a Les paul but what is the name of the color? it looks really awesome.

  • @agorden14 I think it's called vintage burst or heritage burst, something like that.

  • @privettricker sunburst

  • @breezy785 Well, yeah it's a sunburst. But Gibson makes different kinds of sunburst.

  • is it okay to hit the b string? on the one part?

  • @nerad1994 Which part? Time code?

  • @privettricker nevermind i figured it out. great lesson btw

  • @privettricker I think nerad1994 is talking about that riff at 5:15?

  • @evangelionale In that case, yes, go ahead and hit the B string (which is tuned to A, so it's OK).

  • There's always one part missing...THE OUTRO! How the hell do we play that :)

  • @suburbia67 The outro is the same chords as the "All I see turns to brown part" repeated over and over.

  • @suburbia67 Take an example video of their concert in Knebworth. The riff they play from about 7:40 onwards. That's what I meant

  • @suburbia67 You mean that climb he does in the live versions?

  • @privettricker YES! That's it!

  • @suburbia67 The climb is (and I'll just refer to the strings as they would be in standard tuning):

    E string 5th fret

    A string open / 1st fret / 3rd fret

    D string open / 2nd fret / 3rd fret

    G string open / 2nd fret / 4th fret and then ends on a chord of: A open / D string 7th fret / G string 6th fret / B string 7th fret

  • @privettricker Thanks dude. But then how would you transcribe that in DADGAD? :/

  • very good, thankyou

  • i mean starting at 7:51 and the 2nd part also..Hows the strumming suppose to be?

  • Comment removed

  • Hey at 8:23 how is the strumming?UUDDDD ?U=up D=Down

I don't get the strumming help!

    thanks!

  • once you get the tuning just right, the song is really easy to play, i got it down in about ten minutes, i just went back to the original n wrote down how many times he plays each part and its a snap, thanks for another great zep song!!!

  • That was a totally cool lesson

    Thanks

  • My amp goes up to 11 too!

  • This guy is slick at teaching, no nonsense, direct aproach, picked this up in no time at all, like your style man!

  • Awesome lesson man

  • your are truly amazing teacher thank you i really appreciate the way you teach

  • best kashmir lesson on youtube!

  • Yea you should do a lesson on black mountain side

  • It would be great if you could do a tutorial for White Summer/Blackmountainside. Could you please consider posting one if you get some time? Thanks!

  • Really Great Lesson. I think you explain the chords and finger placement better than anyone I have seen on e-bay. Most people overexplain fret# which string... it kills the flow of the lesson. Extremely well done. Click on my name for my version of Stairway on my double neck.

  • I can't even play it, my fingers seem too short.

  • @TheYTPooper Never mind, my fingers have grown.

  • could you teach white summer black mountain side?

  • LOL he said Kazhmir :D

  • Nice shirt. My car only goes to 5.

  • Excellent lesson!

    And excellent SHIRT!

"Couldn't you just make 10 louder and then have all the knobs go to 10?"

"... ...But these go to 11."

  • PT.....right on!! check this out...search YOUTUBE for: KASHMIR chords -Jimmy Page, Jack White, & Edge

look at the 2:06 mark.....JP plays this part higher up.

(I was not able to copy the link in this comment)

  • @shjhdhah Jimmy's doing some of the fills that he used to do in the live versions (he's playing some of the string parts). If you listen to live Zeppelin bootlegs from 75-80, Jimmy would play some of those string/horn fills, particularly in the outro.

  • It's great fun to play the 3 dadgad songs as a suite. The challenge for me is singing and playing that ascending riff. The vocal and guitar time signatures are at cross purposes, so to speak. Very odd brain problem.

  • @12stringsforme Never thought of it like that, but you're exactly right.

  • @12stringsforme I think Eric Clapton said that same thing about Robert Johnson...

  • This really demystified Kashmir for me. for some reason I struggle to make out Jimmy's guitar when I listen to the track. Many thanks.

  • @69nisab Search YouTube for zeppelin kashmir instrumental, and the first one that pops up is the basic track before the vocal and all the other overdubs. You can hear Jimmy's guitar really clearly on that version. And there are plenty of live versions on YouTube, where the guitar is really prominent.

  • Incredible!!!

  • Any chance of a Black Mountain Side lesson while my guitar is still tuned to DADGAD? ;-D

  • dude Private you should do a cover of white summer or a lesson on how to play it and take care my friend :)

  • Fantastic intermediate lesson a lot easier than it sounds

  • Great lesson man, thanks!
