Listen people. DT has something that isn't common; and that is the ability to play with technique and speed and keep the melody and phrasing in a way that captures the mind and the heart. It's not enough to have technique without melody and it's not enough to have melody without technique. These guys deserve recognition for their contribution to music and their inspirational, virtuostic style. I'll say this for critics... play it and then you can talk , but if you can't then shut the hell up.

I have been a big DT fan a long time ago. I've been at several concerts of them (in the 90s) and I'm still saying that they are good band.

But if you would have investigated 5min here at youtube, you would have seen that the guys I was naming are all playing in the same band, the "Chich Corea Electric Band".

I would recommend to listen to some of this stuff and then rethink about the skills of the musicians. There is a a world beyond DT!
