that is because he's been screaming the whole verse before that... you know how much air that takes? a lot. It is very difficult to keep pitch without having enough air and during songs like this it's almost impossible to completely catc h your breath... plus it's not like you are standing still in a studio, you're jumping around on a stage which makes it even harder to breathe. He actually sings really well live, not as good as studio recording but that is how it is most of the time.

yeah. ryan clark actually did most of the first album by himself. meaning he did the lots of the guitar parts and pretty much all of the vocals. a couple other people that werent even in the band helped with the other instruments too.
As I have said before, I dont think you´ll notice so much difference with the sounds when you are out there in the crowd. Main thing is the feeling, not how perfectly they play. To be honest, listening that performance like this, it doesnt sound so good, but there could be lots of reasons for it, other than they cant play live. Maybe it´s too hasty to judge with just one performance...
