Curbing piracy is important, yes. However we can't invade on users rights and freedoms. These bills did little to actually stop piracy, and instead gave copyright holders absurd amount of power. As a voter and user of the internet, I'm glad you decided to opposed these bills.

Thank you for listening, although I'm a bit annoyed that it took a Tsunami of information from ordinary Americans, Internet Service Providers, and others. Even then Senate was barely able to raise their head out of the trough to actually listen. Hopefully when the Senate begins to debate this subject in the future we will actually have an informed discussion, not simply a response to MIPAA or RIAA bullying and spending.

Thank you Senator for your understanding. In your email you stated that SOPA and PIPA aim to "provide new authority for U.S. officials to shut down foreign websites that offer counterfeit products". As you've stated people on both sides are concerned about pirated materials, but personally I don't want to see borders being created on the internet. Governments have created enough borders in our lives. The internet is the only place where we can freely communicate with the world. Keep it that way.

Recent events such as the arrest and shutting down of Megaupload and kimdotcom's arrest in AUCKLAND lead me to question why you need to craft any further laws. PIPA and SOPA were bull!

We have existing law to handle people breaking the law by stealing copyrighted stuff. Tweak it perhaps, but SOPA? PIPA? it's absurd!
