I saw this at the theater when I was 11. Can't remember the movie it went with. Yeah, those simulators were hilarious. We would alternate between them and next day go driving.
@yourallbrainwashed: The cartoons are by Art Stevens, also a Disney animator. I think they may have been created specifically for this movie, but I'm not sure.
@gbouton1 thank you sooooo much. i didnt think i would ever get a reply : )
that black and white automobile cartoon is a full cartoon, it is all about different types of funny cars. i hope i can find the name of it now that you gave me the name of the artist of the cartoon, THANKS!!! i will let you know if i find it. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU ! : )
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THE NAME OF THE CARTOON AT 1:49 AND 2:05 IS ? I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR IT FOR YEARS AND I STILL CANT FIND IT!!! THANKS ALOT!
Oh god. This reminds me of how I felt in driver's ed. I watched this as a kid and wondered if it would be that bad when my time came. It was worse. I didn't even get use a simulation. My dad and I spent countless hours practicing. It was like being in a bumper car. I turned into an oncoming lane, bounced off the curb at Fred Meyers, and drove to class without my learner's permit. It was worth it to get the license, but I'm glad those days are over.
When I saw it as a kid, the model kit segment ended with a shot of a trophy cup. Kurt says "Wow, First Prize...(pan to the wreckage)...from Mom and Dad." (kit collapses).
@biohazardgraphics That was the "Wonderful World of Disney" version which does expand on this short film I think (or was it the other way around, I dunno).
This was one of my favorites growing up. I agree with nutherefurlong. The driver's ed scene was totally awesome. What are the odds of the Bonnie and Clyde bank robbery happening...

This was real art, I remember watching this as a kid. Imagine Kurt Russel is the one who is actually narrating this.

My High School had that exact driver simulator rig.
phogroian 1 year ago
@phogroian I bet it must've been something to use 'em (my school sadly didn't keep it's driver's ed. program long enough by the time I was there).

I saw this when I was little-- the racing pinstripes and the honk-honk baby cracked me up so hard!

There seem to be bits missing from this...
