As to bombing Bosnia, puh leeze, that was motivated by the Srebrenica massacre whose architect General Ratko Mladić is finally on trial. NATO, and I do say NATO, bombing in Bosnia and Serbia was motivated to stop the killing, and didn't cost the US a lot of money or lives, unlike Iraq.

What you're referring to was years before the bombing of Serbia. There wasn't any genocide leading up to that NATO action. The "mass graves" simply weren't there. Furthermore, many, like talk radio host Michael Savage, have argued that the Albanians were the aggressors and that the Serbians were simply defending their homeland. Anyway, the U.N. didn't vote to approve the bombing action, and the left wing organization Human Rights Watch says that civilians were targeted by the bombing.

It was the corrupt, war-mongering corporate cronies like Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld that made the decision to invade the Middle East. Americans had no say in the matter.

@AlanKarMom that arguement is called sophistry. who would not be able to predict that starting a war with china would cause far more harm than it would help? how many tens of millions of people would have to die, and even if china had more than one political party, the conditions for the people would not be much different. in contrast, iraqis have much more freedom and much less fear of their government than during the saddam regime.

@AlanKarMom We invaded Iraq for one simple reason: we could. We're too dependent on China, Saudi Arabia, and countless other nations who had just as severe or even worse human rights abuses as Iraq. But we have a need for them to stick around. Iraq owed us nothing, and vice versa. It was a war of convenience (or so the Bush Admin thought). Iraq was the supposed "easy target" where we could plant a permanent presence in the Middle-East.

@AlanKarMom - China hasn't attacked us yet. Nor, do the Chinese here in this country try to Implement "Chinese Communisim" in our Country... Some people love Freedom and democracy, and Islam doesn't. Does that answer your question?
When the US is attacked, we retaliate..... we do have a right to exist. Just like the Great state of Israel....

@AlanKarMom The U.S. supports democracy in China by keeping Taiwan alive, unless you think Taiwan would still be referring to itself as "The republic of China" if the U.S. didn't give them a guarantee of protection.

Taiwan, btw, was never "designed" by the U.S. to do anything, it's the last stronghold of the non-communist chinese after the communist party took over the mainland. It might surprise you to learn, that not all Chinese were, and are communists. Today you're not allowed to be a member of any party but the communist party. The U.S. is the bad guy? Hard sell.

@Re5Publica Taiwan only survived because of US intervention. the KMT were defeated becase they were corrupt.
communist took over and put an end to all the wars, brought 6 years of stability. before politics threw the country into dissary and caused ideology-based rather than pragmatic economic policy that resulted in the death of many people.
China persues stability and prosperity as a result of it's history, they are welling to sacrafice democracy for thoes goals and we should respect that.
