alfa-vita-gama(G like W Wonder)-delta(th like THe)-epsiilon-zita-eta(iiita...no a-ita)-thita(th like THanks)-yiota(no Giota)-kapa-lamtha(th like THe)-mi(miii no mai)-ni(niii no nai)-ksi(ksiii no ksai)-omicron-pi(piii no pai)-ro-sigma(g is like W Wonder)-taaaf- ipsilon(iiipsiiilon)-fi(fiii no fai)- hiii(like HEAthrow)-psiii-omega(g like W Wonder)
Ever letter "a" you open your mouth and just say aaaa this is it! it's not hEY And "i" you open and say iiiii no aiiiii and "O" is oooo not oh :)
It's not i-ota it's giota, ....Alpha, Beta, Gama, Delta, Epsilon Zeta, Eta, Theta, GIOTA, Kapa, Lamda, Me, Ne, Kse, Omikron, Pe, Ro, Sigma, Taph, Ypsilon, Fe, Chi, Pse, Omega....And the letter "e" (exept the "e" of the Delta) pronounced like you pronounced the letter "e" of your english alphabet.
guys for those who're learning greek the correct pronounciation of the letters are on the video entitled: Learn Greek: Lesson 1 . There are many videos with wrong pronounciation.
I mean vita mi & ni are new greek what they speak (you) now, and bèta mu & nu are ANCIENT greek letters, they pronounced them and called them different, like δ is the english; th sound in new greek. in ancient greek it's the D as in different....

Why do college students have to learn the Greek alphabet?
We are not the great ones!
The ancient were but not us and I am really sorry for that but we are not!
JRMtruelover 1 year ago
no "beta" but "vita",no "mu" but "mi".
georgekoul 2 years ago 5
That is why many languages pronounce "B letter" as "V sound" and in opposite, pronounce "V letter" as "B sound"
