Its not true that a "Tiger is almost always going to win". There are more cases of bull Gaurs killing Tigers than Tiger killing bull Gaurs.

That is not a fight. The tiger crept up behind the gaur and probably got a hold of its neck. If you threw a gaur into a cage with a tiger you would probably get a different outcome. Tigers aren't going to go blow to blow with a big animal like this when they can efficiently kill it by biting the neck and cutting off the animal's air supply.

Although I would agree with you that tigers ARE the best all around solitary killer, their success rate in hunting is incredibly low, around 5-10%. Male lions are also very good at killing buffaloes by the way.
