  • Why did they replace that one with another siren when that one replaced a thunderbolt?

  • @Railfanable St. Louis county chose to replace many of their old sirens into a choice of Whelens. As of right now, the county should still be continuing it's process of replacing their old sirens.

  • I had no idea these were around in STL county, I have never seen a EOWS before!

  • @KLM817 theres gonna b ALOT more with new sirens going in

  • @soccerk8te38 I did see that they installed a new Whelen 29xx on Missouri Bottom road. I thought STL county was going with all of those.

  • @KLM817 yes i have seen a lot lately

  • Atleast it got replaced with a ReLiAbLe Siren!

  • They should replace the sirens with the EOWS* Series instead of 2001-130s

  • Mmmmm...... Weres The Mizu!?

  • It sounds similar to a Thunderbolt on chopper level 6

  • That's a Whelen 3016

  • @DJSpikesan Sounds more like an EOWS :)

  • Man sounds just like a thunderbolt with bad brushes.

  • THEY REPLACED THE BRENTWOOD EOWS?!

  • Yes.

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Seriously, That's terrible. In My Opinion Federal should put the 612 and 1212 back into production. With a few modification, to the tone generator, considering the pitch problems older EOWS have.

  • @keoghjacob I believe you can still place orders for the 612. They are shipped with the Ultravoice controller.

  • @keoghjacob

I think FS should stick the 1212 drivers in a Thunderbolt horn and set them to simulate the Thunderbolt sound.

Federal was planning on making an electronic version of the Thunderbolt, but canceled the project due to cost and the already immensely successful 2001.

  • @keoghjacob they still make the 1212 though .

  • Demand that they put it back in full mass production!

  • How 'bout NO.

  • Wow. Sounds like a Thunderbolt 1000T.

  • I know that's what so cool about those Dual toned EOWS-612s. I sure hope FS can put 612s back on the main line when they can afford to keep making these.

  • They do still make these on special request, like the T-135 from ACA.

  • You seem to be correct on the EOWS but for the P-50 (if that was what you were meaning) isn't made anymore not even buy request from what I was told. The T-132s/T-135 AC/DC were meant to be the replacement of the P-50s.

  • P-50s and Cyclones were made on request but apparently they've discontinued them properly now because they ran out of the parts.

The EOWS* 612s are still special order only, from what i hear.

  • The T-135 is still on ASC's website. (though that may not mean anything)

  • There is a pitch knob on the tone generator board of the EOWS series controllers that allows you to control the frequency, cut-off frequency, etc.

Most likely the installer or FS themselves pre-set this siren to sound like the Thunderbolt that was previously there.

  • The EOWS*612 sirens in Irving, TX sounded much higher than that.

  • That sounds more like a 1000t. If I had not seen the siren, I would not have known which of the two was doing it.

  • Very nice video man! I love 612's and 1212's.

  • I would freak out if I were there!!!

  • any siren can be customized with a tone but it costs a hefty rice to do so.

  • It doesn't sound so healthy.

  • I love this kind of EOWS because it sounds exactly the same as a Thunderbolt siren.

  • sounds pretty close to the thunderbolt. most likely because it replaced a t-bolt so the residents would recognize the tone.

  • This 612 replaced a T-Bolt, and now a Whelen has replaced the 612.

There is only one 612 left in St. Louis County, to my knowledge, which is on Deitrich; between Carman Rd and Manchester Rd.

  • Wow, That's right by our friend's church! Never knew that 612 was there either.

We have friends that live in Manchester and they go to a church right at Carman and Deitrich.

  • It's right on a sharp turn, next to tall pine tree. It's easy to miss.

  • Awesome video, man. :)

  • a close up would have been nice!!
