  • I just love this song. I teach English in South Korea. I'm an American. I taught my students so many things about Australia because 20 will be going the for a year. I taught so many different songs and so much of the culture, I didn't get to this one. I hope my replacement will do it. She teaches during the second session. I gave her the link. I love Aussie stuff.

  • I've been looking up Australian songs (I've got 40 on my playlist so far), and this is by far my favorite. :D

  • SLAVES

  • we have 2 sing this at our end of year concert (Australia)

  • can someone upload the song Dinosaur. it's my faaaavorite.

  • now i'm a metal head but sim dusty is the one of the only other singers i'll lision to no joke i LOVE him and i will miss him he was and still is a legend

  • I Love this song. My Grandad used to play this for us all the time. I had the best child hood growing up. Every school holidays my parents used to send us to our grandparents farm in the country. We got to play with all our cousins and have some great memories! We all used to sing & dance to Slim Dusty and other Aussie songs!

  • So sad R.I.P Slim Dusty my world has lost the legend of australia - 19 Septemeber 2003

  • my son sang this at his school concert the other night

  • @82kli that good 4 u

  • Gay Gay, Its how im doin

  • I love this song. I have a friend that knew Slim. I read his book, loaned to me by that friend. Would have loved to meet him. God Bless Austrailia!!!This Texan loves you guys!:)

  • This song reminds me of a visit to Brisbane in 1968, now if it didn't come out until after that date, what the heck! it still reminds me of Brisbane, wonderful town, wonderful state, wonderful country, wonderful people

  • I love this song! It's been in my head every since I heard it in the Outback recently. :o)

  • my best memory of this song is back in primary school. The school principal fancied himself as a singer, he used to sit on the stage and sing this during the school assembly. I recently discovered that after he retired from teaching he has been doing the club circuit as a country singer with his wife. Mr Raff rocked!!

  • Good ol' Slim. He was the quintessential Aussie and a good bloke. G'day G'day. It's got a nice friendly ring to it. I use it all the time.

  • No joke. My music teacher actually wrote this song and whenever I hear this song, I remember great times in primary school. Good on ya mate!

  • @zboik13 OI OI OI

  • @mmwolf503 AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE

  • g'day g'day the only way!!!

  • It saddens me that the Aussie culture is dying to the American style. I say G'day to everyone, complete strangers. But when I hear an aussie kid say "ass" instead of "arse" and asking for ketchup instead of deadhorse....it just makes me a little sad.

RIP Slim. Ill say G'day to you when we meet.

  • @FatmanXVII I'm 18 years old and it kills me that American culture has taken over Australian culture- and that no-one seems to give a shit! Australia till the end, I say!

  • @H1sMaj3sty Sadly, yes. It just makes me sad that our old culture is dying. Its truly horrifying.

Either the rest of the world stereotypes us or asks us if we ride kangaroo's to work/school.

Well, at least we give a crap!

  • @H1sMaj3sty or the fact that china owns 60% of aus now =[

  • @FatmanXVII Luv that deadhorse

  • @EarlJohn61 I put on everything myself! From my damper to chips!

  • Rip Uncle bill . this song was played at my uncles funeral he was such an aussie bloke and i will miss him

  • noone cares how old you are!!

  • @MaddyRockRoxs I'm american and I liked this song no offence

  • @MaddyRockRoxs I'm an Aussie living in the USA with my American husband and our 3 month old daughter (an Ausmerican/Ameristralian). My husband found this song and loves it - along with Slim's version of Waltzing Matilda, Rolf Harris's Click Go the Shears and Tie Me Kangaroo Down, and John Williamson's version of Home among the Gumtrees. He plays them every day to our daughter.

  • @MaddyRockRoxs

I am as American as it gets, but I love this song! I went to Australia a few years ago on a trip with some students from a college I taught at. Our crazy tour guide played this song every day we that were on the road! Most Americans love Aussies and Austraila. Your six dislikes probably came from New Zealanders! JK

  • @wkutrent theres 8 dislikes who knows they might be japanese or somethin not to worry,

  • @12fangs The Japanese have nothing against Australians. Also, some people hit the wrong button by accident. I've done that once, so they may have liked the song.

  • WHOEVER DISLIKED THIS SONG IS A FUCKIN FAGGOT , YOU GUYS ARE SO FUCKIN GAY SLIMM DUSTY IS THE FUCKIN SHIT FUCK ALL YOU MUTHA FUCKIN HATERS

  • I love Australia! Enjoying every minute of it!!!

  • slim looks like my granddad!which is wierd cause he is a trucker here in the US.

  • im irish but have family in ballarat. bin to australea twice. loved it. going back soon!!!!. (sorry bout the spelling. dyslexic)

  • OMG! I just got back from Australia and it was amazing! My cousin showed me this song and I couldn't stop singing it the whole plane ride home!!!

  • Love the Australian attitude to life...Lots of Irish blood in there mayhaps....

  • @jimlolok I'm of Irish decent and I'm an Aussie.

Love this life. Wouldn't trade it for anything. The 49*C summers and the pouring down rain winters.

So from me, G'day G'day mate!

  • the six people must not be aussie

  • a few years ago i had the priveledge of teaching english at a couple of schools in Thailand for about 2 weeks. This was the song we chose to teach the kids to give then an idea about sland. They thaught it was the coolest song ever

  • 6 people would rather be frenchies

  • RIP mate...one of your best songs god bless you

  • Whenever I hear this song I just want to sing aloud really loud to it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • just say g'day g'day g'day and youll be right - great song

  • Great song R.I.P Slim

  • We miss you Slim. Rest in Peace. Australia is a great land. I love it so much. There's nothing better than after a long day of farming to sit with a nice can of beer and look up at the southern cross...

  • Cheers to you Slim, I'm of original and first fleet stock and I say 'G'day' when met by a stranger. In reply I am either ignored or looked at as though I was an alien. C'mon people, save G'day! Use the Australian venacular without fear!

  • @verticalsmurf Same here!! I work as a checkout operator in a supermarket, and everyone just gives ya a funny look if ya say it >:

My supervisor gave me a lecture that I shouldn't say it.. now I have to say 'Howdy' ... it's just not the same :/

  • @YaoiChan101 - What country are you in? Are you here or in America? It should be illegal to tell someone not to say G'day. It's such a happy greeting. Mind you I have developed the habit of running it into 'G'dayhowyadoin'? Maybe that's why they look at me weird.

  • @verticalsmurf I'm from the good ol' Land Down Under~ :) Damn I love Australia Haha!

If anyone can say they know a more inviting greeting than G'day, they clearly haven't been around a true Aussie before. It saddens me because everything in Australia is slowly being 'Americanised' and we're losing a great part of our identity ):

Don't worry, I string most of my words together a lot of the time as well :) Haha

  • @YaoiChan101 - You'reagoodeggmate.

  • @platformracer12345 an* aussie... ME TOO

  • @platformracer12345 AN aussie, just coz you came from 18th/19th century convicts doesn't mean you have to spell like 18th/19th century convicts

  • @aquilascura You say he can't spell right when you can't. Go read a book dumbass.

  • @ozzyguy67 just because i use 'coz'... i'm sorry, just because i write how i'm speaking doesn't mean i can't spell, but saying that, in future i might write 'cause instead even though i'm not saying cause i'm saying because without the 'be' which makes it into a 'cos' but the s causes confusion due to it's over sibilance... and i'm not an ass or i wouldn't have the opposable fingers to type. oh wait that's because you use a different lexis to me... and i think i will read another book
