I REALLY love this video. :) I'm a huge Anette Olzon fan. She is my idol and I really look up to her. I also love her style. And you're right, she doesn't stick to just one type of clothing style; she mixes it up a lot and doesn't try to be like other singers who feel the need to always dress dark, and just all the same.

I like Tarja and Anette both, though I feel they really can't be compared because they are so different. I do admire Anette's style though. I think it's neat that she wears what she wants to wear, not what is necessarily 'fashionable' or what everyone else wants her to wear.
you should notice that in the beginnig she was wearing corsets, black skirts and other rock-clothes just to fit in... so at the start she was not so brave to show her own style, but later she became blondy girl with too much different clothes... she has some good cominations but sometimes she wears something extremely stupid that doesn t fit nowhere...
Metal or not Metal, I liked them the way they were and the way they are now. But I do disagree and think that they are still Metal even if they have some songs that aren't so Metal =)
I really like her outfit in 0:25, and I also like her style in general (Although I preferred how she looked with black hair).
Tarja always dressed more sophisticated, but it's a good thing that Anette is developing her own style instead of trying to imitate Tarja's (that goes for the singing as well).
I really support Anette and I'm glad her career is starting to gain height because she's very talented and she deserves it. I'm also glad to find more people who support her.
She has a big range in clothing styles =) i somehow like her style more than tarjas, tarja seemed to wear the same things all the time and some of the things tarja wore O.o like that big yellow coat thing it didnt suit her, looked abit tacky. The only reason why Anette gets so much crap is because the old "Nightwish" fans need a reason to complain about Tarja's replacement. That's pretty much it.
Anette doesn't have a bad style, sure some of it is odd but that is how she dresses.
She's said in one interview that she also wears clothes to support the local fashion designers.

Please enlight me with your Metal concert dress code. I've beem to one of their gigs and I saw so many people dress in so many different styles. Oh and three things 1. black doesn't = Metal or Goth. 2. Not everybody else in the band dresses only in black, and besides you can't even see the guys. 3. That's not a grandma dress. But well that's your opinion.
I love Anette and all of the clothes in these pictures, but honestly some of her clothes were horrible. Mainly the thrumpy blue dress she wore in one of the US shows; it just looked like something my grandmother would wear to a tea party or something. Appart from that I aplaud her for being herself.
Tarja's dresscode seemed to consist of big yellow raincoats tho, very strange o_o not keen on yellow.

Anyways, there isn't really any set "metal" fashion. Yes, there is the leather jackets, band shirts, and jeans look, but metal is about music, not fashion. Tarja never dressed particularly "metal" either, at least not more so than Anette.
She doesn't have to be a metalhead to be able to fit into Metal. There are as many metal images as there are people. Las canciones so de Tuomas asi que nadie esta faltando el respeto ha nadie, a la banda le gusta como Anette las canta. A mi por jemeplo no me gusta much su vercion de Wish I had an Angel, o Slaying the dreamer, pero tampoco las canta mal en mi opinion.
Y no van solo a cantar las canciones del album nuevo porque entonces sus shows serian mas cortos y nesecitan variedad.

Ahora solo es una cancion pas con un buen ritmo.

Yo no estoy de acuerdo contigo en que ya no es Nightwish. Muchisimas bandas cambian de cantantes y de otros miembros y siguen a delante. Y aveces solo cambian un poco el estilo porque no les gusta estar encasquellados en un molde. Nightwish sigue siendo metal y si le quitas la voz de Anette las canciones siguen teniendo el mismo sentido. Los chicos no querian una copia de Tarja. Lo sigo biendo como symphonic/power/metal.

Depende de la extravagancia. Anette no esta viestiendose con difraces, ella se viste con la ropa que le gusta y representa a alugnos diseñadores Suecos. Yo personalmente no veo ninguna extravagancia en el grupo.

Por si no los sabes el grupo se hizo comercial al primer momento de vender albums, tener conciertos, y tener videos musicales. Y el album ONCE fue el primero que les dio muchisima mas fama que los anteriores.

Cambiar de vocalista puede dar mas ventas si a las personas les gusta la voz. Al parecer a la malloria de la gente le gusta Anette. No digo que ati te tenga que gustar, para gustos estan echos los colores. Pero hay que reconocer que una voz classica y de opera no es algo que le guste a las malloria de las personas. Las voz de Tarja es fuerte y talvez muy fuerte para algunos.
Esto es para ponerte un ejemplo; a mi mama le gusta Tarja en "My winter storm" sinembargo no le gusta en Nightwish, y le gusta Anette. A mi me gustan las dos por igual, no se si lo mension antes. Pero si no uviera sido por "Amaranth" you no le uviera dado un chance a Nightwish, porque la primera cancion que escuche fue "Wishmaster" y la deteste. Ahora me gusta por Tarja y Anette, pero al principio la voz de Tarja no me gustaba mucho.

No las modificaron lo unico que cambio un poco fue la manera que ella las canta, pero la musica en si no cambio.
la voz es comun, pero no he dicho que anete no puede estar en una banda de metal, puede estar, por supuesto, pero la eleccion que tuvieron los musicos del grupo fue erronea, ya que en sí, el sello de nightwish siempre ha sido symphonic metal, y era caracterizado por una voz estudiada de Opera, y haber cambiado drasticamente ese detalle, es muy notorio, eso solamente he dicho, no he dicho (reitero) que anete no puede estar en una banda de metal...pero sinceramente no era voz para nightwish...
Tarja era y es una que siempre se cambia de ropa y aveces mas de una vez en el mismo show. No tiene nada de malo pues a ella tambien le gusta lucir bien y tiene su propio estilo.

Well I don't think the tattoos and piercing had anything to do with trying to fit in because for example in the band Jukka is the only one with tattoos, and after she strated to change her ]style she still got tattoos, and if that was the case she would have taken the piercing out by now.
I don't know if she was really trying to fit in but if that's the case then she lied in an interview when she said this; "the hair [color] changes, the make-up changes, but the clothes stay the same"

Though I find many Anettes outfits just weird I agree with the message of this video. I have always respected Anette for being her self. She isnt even trying to fit in to some mold, and its true, all other metal ladies look the same.. Sometimes Ive seen some idiots rioting when Anette has been wearing pink. If I were Anette I would dress up covered in pink, just to piss those pathetic kids who have no mind of their own and think that if you listen to metal youre not allowed wear colors..
I agree with that. If the clothes were just wiered or even "ugly" in my opinion, I don't think I'd mind that much.
The problem is how ill-fitted most of them are! Anette has such a nice body (I actualy think it's much nicer now that she's gained a few pounds), but she manages to dress in ways that are very unflattering to it. I think that if there are size 14 girls that manage to dress to highlight their best assets, there's no reason why a size 4 can't.
true..I like the one in 3:29 imo its one of her best outfits, also I love her look on 1:52 she wore that same top with these really cool rocky pants with patchs and stuff, theyre my favourite.. =) Also I like how she combined corsets and pants at the start..

I don't get how either Anette or Tarja are copying anyone. You people think that what you or these women OR anyone esle wears no body else wears it? You see someone on the street or on tv wearing something you like and you aren't getting it 'cause they already have it? I think that's pretty stupid. Since when is there a law that says you can't wear something because someone else has it, or what clothes you can wear depending on the music you listen to? Neither of them are copiying anyone.

Anyways, there isn't really any set "metal" fashion. Yes, there is the leather jackets, band shirts, and jeans look, but metal is about music, not fashion. Tarja never dressed particularly "metal" either, at least not more so than Anette.

Las canciones so de Tuomas asi que nadie esta faltando el respeto ha nadie, a la banda le gusta como Anette las canta. A mi por jemeplo no me gusta much su vercion de Wish I had an Angel, o Slaying the dreamer, pero tampoco las canta mal en mi opinion.
Y no van solo a cantar las canciones del album nuevo porque entonces sus shows serian mas cortos y nesecitan variedad.

Aparte como ya dije las canciones son de Tuomas asi que las puede cantar en los conciertos. Y algo mas Tarja no canta solo las canciones de su album, tambien canta las canciones de Nightwish por la misma razon de la que ya mensione, nesecita variedad en el show. Y por lo que se ella las canta sin permiso pero a la bando no parese molestarle, que yo no creo que de virian de molestarse pero de todos modos si les da lagana a ellos no las puediera cantar.

insisto, les guste o no, en un grupo el que es mas importante...(me refiero por la parte de imagen, y visualizacion del grupo)...es el vocalista...
no importa si los instrumentistas son buenos o son malos...
pero lo que siempre saldra a la luz publica es el vocalista...

Claro que la voz es lo principal pero repito que a la malloria les gusta la Voz de Anette. Nightwish perdio fans pero tambien recivieron nuevos fans. Y Tarja sigue cantondo canciones de Nightwish aparte de las de su album. Ya que las canciones so de Tuomas y el quiere que Anette las cante, no veo nada mal aunque ella no las cante vien aveces o simplemente que no les guste a los viejos fans. Como esta sigue siendo la banda Nightwish, ellos van a seguir tocando las canciones viejas.

Por lo que he leido ella no tiene parte en el copyright ya que ella solo las cantaba y no las escribio ni compuso. Yo creo que ya no hay ese rencor que huvo ace 4 years ago. Yo creo que los dos bandos ya siguieron con sus vidas y no viven el el pasado. Tuomas mismo ha dicho que cuando tocan la cancion BBB no la tocan pensando en el significado con cual se escribio. Ahora solo es una cancion pas con un buen ritmo.

cuando quieren renovar su musica una forma para vender mas rapido es por medio de la imagen...
a mi por suerte la ropa es lo que menos me importa si no que la calidad de su musica...y lamenteblemente el sello de nightwish desaparecio cuando anete ingreso al grupo...nueva cantante..bien...pero otro estilo vocal...definitivamente ya no es nightwish...

Yo no estoy de acuerdo contigo en que ya no es Nightwish. Muchisimas bandas cambian de cantantes y de otros miembros y siguen a delante. Y aveces solo cambian un poco el estilo porque no les gusta estar encasquellados en un molde. Nightwish sigue siendo metal y si le quitas la voz de Anette las canciones siguen teniendo el mismo sentido. Los chicos no querian una copia de Tarja. Lo sigo biendo como symphonic/power/metal.

Depende de la extravagancia. Anette no esta viestiendose con difraces, ella se viste con la ropa que le gusta y representa a alugnos diseñadores Suecos. Yo personalmente no veo ninguna extravagancia en el grupo.

Cambiar de vocalista puede dar mas ventas si a las personas les gusta la voz. Al parecer a la malloria de la gente le gusta Anette. No digo que ati te tenga que gustar, para gustos estan echos los colores. Pero hay que reconocer que una voz classica y de opera no es algo que le guste a las malloria de las personas. Las voz de Tarja es fuerte y talvez muy fuerte para algunos.

Esto es para ponerte un ejemplo; a mi mama le gusta Tarja en "My winter storm" sinembargo no le gusta en Nightwish, y le gusta Anette. A mi me gustan las dos por igual, no se si lo mension antes. Pero si no uviera sido por "Amaranth" you no le uviera dado un chance a Nightwish, porque la primera cancion que escuche fue "Wishmaster" y la deteste. Ahora me gusta por Tarja y Anette, pero al principio la voz de Tarja no me gustaba mucho.

la voz es comun, pero no he dicho que anete no puede estar en una banda de metal, puede estar, por supuesto, pero la eleccion que tuvieron los musicos del grupo fue erronea, ya que en sí, el sello de nightwish siempre ha sido symphonic metal, y era caracterizado por una voz estudiada de Opera, y haber cambiado drasticamente ese detalle, es muy notorio, eso solamente he dicho, no he dicho (reitero) que anete no puede estar en una banda de metal...pero sinceramente no era voz para nightwish...

I think the actual problem isn't that the outfits she wears are not metal.The actual problem is the lack of elegance.I agree,everyone can wear whatever he/she likes,but we always have to take somethings into consideration.Things like age,family condition(she's a mother-i wouldn't like to see my mother with piercings and short skirts) and sense of elegance.

she dyed her hair, pierced her eyebrow and got a tattoo just when she entered the band... and she started dressing like a goth girl and didnt look natural...
remember she is into fashion (she said that in an interview) and she used to dress in a very different form...
So when time passed she started dressing more like herself... and stopped copying that goth/metal look that is definitely not for her...

Well I don't think the tattoos and piercing had anything to do with trying to fit in because for example in the band Jukka is the only one with tattoos, and after she strated to change her ]style she still got tattoos, and if that was the case she would have taken the piercing out by now.
I don't know if she was really trying to fit in but if that's the case then she lied in an interview when she said this; "the hair [color] changes, the make-up changes, but the clothes stay the same"

Though I find many Anettes outfits just weird I agree with the message of this video. I have always respected Anette for being her self. She isnt even trying to fit in to some mold, and its true, all other metal ladies look the same.. Sometimes Ive seen some idiots rioting when Anette has been wearing pink. If I were Anette I would dress up covered in pink, just to piss those pathetic kids who have no mind of their own and think that if you listen to metal youre not allowed wear colors..

I agree with that. If the clothes were just wiered or even "ugly" in my opinion, I don't think I'd mind that much.
The problem is how ill-fitted most of them are! Anette has such a nice body (I actualy think it's much nicer now that she's gained a few pounds), but she manages to dress in ways that are very unflattering to it. I think that if there are size 14 girls that manage to dress to highlight their best assets, there's no reason why a size 4 can't.
