I think your hierarchies have always existed, with all levels existing simultaneously within each level. Although not necessarily popularized, pluralism within each stage has existed for many individuals. It's just that, over the ages, some of us haven't been as out-spoken about these things!

Humanity has an extended history far back than our contemporary records can record. The more we learn about the brain, the more we understand how little of the subject we actually understand.
It's estimated that the human brain have more then 10 million times of connections in the brain than the human genome has letters. And there's about 3 billion letters in the human genome. It isn't surprising that there is no cure yet.
@Dumass88 What about the discovery of epigenetics? Now we know although we are born with our genetic blueprint, this doesn't determine our behavior or diseases. Environmental influence and personal decisions is key to what triggers our DNA and can be changed. I do agree that there are other factors involved in the statistics on bipolar disorder, after all our environment has always been stressful but I do think that many disorders can be treated with a clear understanding of conciousness.

Some studies show the past couple of decades of poor diet, fast foods, preservatives & poisons contributed to the recent increase of Bipolar illness due to lack of Omega 3, Vit. D., complex B vitamins, and some minerals. They show decrease in illness for people starting eating organic, &increasing these nutrients. I agree beliefs affect brain chemistry, but you can't ignore positive effects of improving diet & increasing needed vitamins & minerals. You are what you eat is true, too.

@moviefreak91 please try 1000 mg. of Omega 3, 3x per day, and make sure it is certified to be free of mercury! And 1000 mg. of Vit. D per day, and a good multi-vitamin. Ask people at a good health food store to show you. Lamictal is one drug that has few side effects, no cognitive dulling, and is the first proven to lift bi-polar depression if improving your diet is not enough. I think your hierarchies have always existed, with all levels existing simultaneously within each level. Although not necessarily popularized, pluralism within each stage has existed for many individuals. It's just that, over the ages, some of us haven't been as out-spoken about these things!

Most aliens exist in the 4th and higher dimensions, even though they can transition their bodies into physical reality at will which causes discomfort for them. How could you know what people's thoughts were like 50,000 years ago? They had the same brains as us, and you're trying to suggest that they wouldn't go through a lot of the same things we do. It's probably awkward to be a teenager no matter what place or time you live in. They went trough many of the same overarching themes and experiences (first love, loss of family) our lives take us through. Calling them archaic is, well, an archaic way of thinking about it. That's when I stopped watching.

That implies that our minds are different from ancient humans'. However, our genetic code has not changed (only negligibly). The basic building blocks of consciousness and thoughts are the same now as they always were. The way in which humans learn about their world, and grow habits which become normal enough to become a "personality" or "soul" are the same

There are only two major types of consciousness existing on the planet today: conscious or unconscious. Unfortunately the vast majority are unconscious . As a result we still have people doing Yoga and not aware that it is a Hindu Religious practice. As of 2011, those very small minority of conscious people cannot change the tide of "wind turbines and solar panels and Raves".

The diagnose bipolar disorder is wider today and more people with the disease get diagnosed and treated. 20% of untreated people with bipolar disorder commit suicide.

You can't heal bipolar disorder because it is a neurological disease.
The more we learn about the brain, the more we understand how little of the subject we actually understand.
It's estimated that the human brain have more then 10 million times of connections in the brain than the human genome has letters. And there's about 3 billion letters in the human genome. It isn't surprising that there is no cure yet.

@Dumass88 What about the discovery of epigenetics? Now we know although we are born with our genetic blueprint, this doesn't determine our behavior or diseases. Environmental influence and personal decisions is key to what triggers our DNA and can be changed. I do agree that there are other factors involved in the statistics on bipolar disorder, after all our environment has always been stressful but I do think that many disorders can be treated with a clear understanding of conciousness.

Some studies show the past couple of decades of poor diet, fast foods, preservatives & poisons contributed to the recent increase of Bipolar illness due to lack of Omega 3, Vit. D., complex B vitamins, and some minerals. They show decrease in illness for people starting eating organic, &increasing these nutrients. I agree beliefs affect brain chemistry, but you can't ignore positive effects of improving diet & increasing needed vitamins & minerals. You are what you eat is true, too.

@moviefreak91 please try 1000 mg. of Omega 3, 3x per day, and make sure it is certified to be free of mercury! And 1000 mg. of Vit. D per day, and a good multi-vitamin. Ask people at a good health food store to show you. Lamictal is one drug that has few side effects, no cognitive dulling, and is the first proven to lift bi-polar depression if improving your diet is not enough. Don't throw away ALL drug options if they can reduce suffering. Best wishes to you!

A lot of the facts we have now on evolution where formed around Darwins theory and not all the facts were included. For instance there is evidence that supports evolution may not be a gradual process but more like a threshold process. Of course there is development of consciousness but there is also leaps in consciousness. The cave men may not have been as primitive minded as we all think.

All this sounds like just another evidence-lacking cult.. if was really more evident than psychiatric treatment, would be accepted and used by doctors to treat BP. If you think there is a conspiracy in the medical community, CULT!! Evidence is the real God. Modern medicine treats countless folks with mental aberrations and does it successfully. Last I checked, God never removed a ruptured spleen or treated cancer. No, just modern medicine thanks to an amazing discovery called evidence.

@dagclarinet1 Most cases? That's not taking into consideration success. Modern medicine progresses. History shows how treatments are constantly replaced by more effective ones with less side effects. If it weren't for modern medicine, you'd probably be dead by now from small pox, polio, tuberculosis, measles, or a simple infection like pneumonia. I think people with this grudge against medicine don't give it due respect and this cute concept of a complacent "God" is unprovable and silly.

@andrewpmast All medicinal "help" for mental illnesses have at least one debilitating side effect to them. Either the kidneys, the liver, the brain, something is adversely affected. Also, how do you know what God is, anyway? Do you have all the answers? Nothing is as simple as it seems....you know nothing

Nobody on earth knows or can prove a "god", so no, I don't have any answers, but neither do you or anybody, so yes, I know nothing and I'm not ashamed to say so, but I have an opinion, there is no such being, as you seem to have your own opinion, we just have to agree to disagree on that subject.

Good shit..You should look up Terence Mckenna which you probably should know if your interested in this type of stuff, but what i think that took us humans in the wrong turn is agriculture, get rid of money and then wel see how people change, we need to learn to share, eat more efficiently and respect nature more, but everything is ment to happen, as their was peace in the begining so there shall be peace at the end.
