  • This should have 300 million more views. Pure mojo right here baby!

  • The beginning of this song is the classic blues beat I know, where was this originally used? I've heard it in multiple songs including "Mannish Boy"

  • How can you play this song without a Blues Harp??? I was almost tempted to give this vid a thumbs down... almost.

  • This is crazy shit XD

I mean it makes scence, God Made Jesus And Clapton Made Guitars Speak

  • @93pops Yeah, sure, whatever. That clapton is god crap died when Hendrix stepped off the plane in England.

  • @TTmaniax In his autobio, E.C. said that he felt Hendrix was way better than him, but the "Clapton is God" thing still is a fact for his fans. So if you don't like him then don't speak like if everybody must share your likes

  • @TTmaniax ignorant people like u shouldent even be able to leave comments, they are both amasing gtar players. may god, AKA "eric" have mercy on your soul!!!

  • I guess its true all of the great artist are dead. Rich white wallstreet blues .Its like revenge of the nerds singin the blues. I think steppenwolf does a better job on this song.. Don't get me wrong . I like the music he created. But he did not shoot the sheriff. Bob Marley did.

  • My theme song

  • fuck eminem, clapton is the blackest white man on earth

  • @MIKEooKEY Yea and Eminem is the whitest white man on earth.

  • Awesome!

  • What a fuckin ballin musician.

  • Go Hoochie Coochie Clapton !!!

    Play ya thing!!!

    Great cover of Muddy's blues!!!

    Brilliant Musician!!!

    Cheers from Budapest

  • clapton himself have only few good songs his play is simple even too simple.but as any songwriter he can create his own srtyle of music.and his style is slow and soft:)

  • larga vida al blues.Inmortal.

  • Eric Clapton ist eine der großen Größen der Musikwelt, besser gehts nicht, immer wider sehr gut!!! Das kann man sich 1000 mal anhören und es wird nie langweilig, klasse Eric !!!

  • They should make a supernatural episode about eric clapton bein possessed by a black blues artist lol.

  • It is so unfortunate that he going deaf. There is so much he still has to share with this musically challenged era.

Music today has gone to shit(most of it) and the real musicians are dyin or goin deaf

    ITs FUCKIN TRAGIC

  • see how this song played Vlatko Stefanovski, he owned .....

  • Eric Clapton is probably the greatest Chicago bluesman to ever come out of Great Britain. And I DO mean that as a compliment.

  • i got that hoochie koochie man you got that cheeba cheeba

  • why do they still sing about me?

    I'm the hoochie coochie man

    Everybody knows I'm here ;)

    salute !

  • @TheEllerdo haha...

  • would love to see him in chicago this summer.

  • Song was written by Willie Dixon, bass player of the Muddy Waters band. Willie later recorded a great version himself. Also check out Sugar Blue's version on youtube and Eric Burdon's too.

  • OH MY GOD, THIS IS SO GOOD!!!!!!!!

  • yeah !! exelent ..!! the soul of eric is black !! .. i love muddy ..!! and this performance is fantastic !!

  • Who wrote this song ?

  • muddy waters! :D

  • Thanks =D

  • no problem man chech the version out on my page see what you think

  • actually it was bo diddley on "I'm a man"

  • Thank you slow hands and I injoyed your book.

  • touché

  • I am white myself and I think African Americans came up with the blues music and they had the blues it came from their soul man you can't just act like you have the blues you gotta feel it and have a reason and a story line to back up your blues. Clapton is one of the greatest musicians alive however he is not GOD. Get over it man, stop reading superficial music magazines. Read some real books. Peace

  • CLAPTON IS THE KING!

  • GO NATHAN EAST.

  • Awsome!!!

  • lol lol

is seems to the song "Bad to the bone"

  • yeah that's true, but he did bring the blues to the white people in England and the rest of the world. Without him the blues still wouldn't have been the same

  • @bluesman12125

Yeah, I agree, but it's conditional. Clapton was one of the first of the white kids to attempt to bring blues over to the white-urban culture. Whilst I think music is a borderless, indiscriminate thing, credit must be given to where it's due. And Blues is the Black cultures greatest creation and the old school muddy waters and BBking really own this genre.

  • nah man, clapton is god, just hear him in the blues breakers, he brought chicage blues to europe, he saved the less paul, he invented the beano tone, he has just as much blues as anyone else, according to buddy guy tht is, he said tht on the 16th at one of his concerts i attended

  • Hey 1000rtodd, Clapton is the best Bluesplayer ever, and you fucking racist bastards need to understand that there is no difference between black or white anymore

  • @bluesman12125

Sorry dude but even if there's no difference between White and black NOW, the best blues player are still black... Maybe becaused they performed in a time when white people they didn't play the blues, actually they didn't even really get blue

Sorry for mistakes, I'm not native.

  • @bluesman12125

ANd yeah, even though he is GREAT, Clapton is definitely the best blues player ever... There is so many bluesmen whose works are definitely bluer, such as Howlin' Wolf, Robert Johnson (which Clapton covered), lightin' Hopkins, Blind Lemon Jefferson and many others.

But this is not the same blues.

  • Clapton is a GREAT blues player, but not the best ever.

  • I'd have thought anyone seeking to defend Clapton would want to steer clear of the issue of 'racism', eh?

  • The Best !

  • Damn this is FANTASTIC !!!

  • he is not hoochie coohie man he is back door man :D:D

  • gotta love it =P

  • The King lives on.

  • one of the best versions..

  • dmfitchett = dipshit

  • his tone in this vid is the essence of post 60's/70's clapton tone

  • Clapton is a BEAST!!!

    He is the clean TRUTH!!!

  • R.I.P. Muddy Waters....one of the best blues...best bands ever!

  • I totally agree w all the comments about Clapton's incredible singing/playing of the blues/black man's musiic. He sings like a man possessed. Clapton has done more to bring blues to white audiences than any artist. He is one of a kind. I feel blessed to have shared 45 of my 52 yrs on Earth w him. His music will go on forever.

  • @slowhandfan1 That's a terribly overblown and grand statement but...bravo!

  • Comment removed

  • @slowhandfan1 Have you seen Vlatko Stefanovski playing this song ?

  • @slowhandfan1 Everyone that's ever played with him is dead, He has a pact with the devil but I can't get enough...

  • @akmcbride01 well, B.B. King is still alive :)

  • @akmcbride01 well... buddy guy, BB king and jimi vaughn are still alive....

  • @slowhandfan1 amin

  • check me and my mates version out want comments :)

  • the only man alive that can honestly play the black man's blues...seriously. i mean i see a what guy obviously...but i hear black if that makes sense....lol

  • hes not the only one, there are alot of white people who can play real black blues..but in general, yeah, eric clapton IS a god

  • racist

  • i hear ya, but if u think he is the only white man alive who can do this then you do not know much about music. i have been a pro singer for 20 years and can assure you he is not the only one ;)

  • what about canned heat....

  • que buen video ....

  • wow... Clapon is Clapton... taratatatà

  • Who's that on drums?

    Anyone?

It looks like Jim Gordon, but I know it can't be him.

    He still alive?

  • Steve Gadd

  • Ah..Thanks.

  • I think it's Steve Gad

  • That's Steve Gadd.

  • yes that is steve gadd, i went to school with his son. e-roc ny

  • thats Steve Gadd

  • GREAT!

  • I got the blues today iam kicken the dead around

  • Muddy Waters!

  • STEVE GADD!

  • Is that Nathan East playing Bass?

  • Yes. A very good musicien ; )

  • yep..

  • AMEN WOuuuuuu Nathan

  • yes he is Nathan ;)

Beisdes, I think this song's been taken out from the tour of his record "Reptile" if I'm not mistaken.

At least, the musicians Clapton brought with them are the same ones we can see on this Muddy's classic cover( Andy Fairweather Low, Steve Gadd and Nathan East).

    Greetings!

  • Yeah, Eric Clapton is that dude. I love his music.

  • and the harmonica? , well clapton is the best!!!!

  • he didn't look or sound this old when i saw him a few weeks ago :0

  • somebody knows a song that start the in the same way but, have armonic too

    sorry for my english...

  • maybe mannish boy ?

  • whawt amp uses eric clapton in this videos?

  • Clapton is god!

  • génial 5*

  • Why does this man need a rhythm guitar player?

  • because he can't play guitar

  • Well at least he picked a kick ass rhythm guitar player. Andy Fairweatherlow is awesome. Check him out on Roger Water's In the Flesh tour DVD. He's amazing, not to mention all the others such as Snowy White, Doyle Bramhall II and Jon Carin.

  • What we have here is either a commedian or an idiot...Lets us look into this further...

  • hahaha

  • Smart move PiHDrummer...

  • I agree.

  • because there are two distinct guitar parts on this song...if you listen to how he uses his rhythm guitar player you'll know...

  • Maybe for the same reason Muddy did....

  • Xaffax, it doesn't get any better than this, go and drown yourself.

  • how bout muddy waters playing this duh.

  • Well mr Stiffdrinkanda....(sorry Xaffax would love to drown himself but has allready chocked from laughter )

  • It never stops amazing me some of the comments on these boards..You have people who more than likely never played a lick or if they have played a guitar the have learned a few riffs and probable don't even now how to play one complete song cutting on the masters...How could you possible say SRV blows?Eric Clapton Fails ?Clapton a Wannabe Blues player? What is wrong with you people..These players have entertained the masses made Millions and are rated among the best of all time. You judge them?Ha

  • clapton rocks!!!!!!!!

  • aw man this is rokin awesome, truly wikid.

like my lifes ambition is to play a show with eric clapton...

i saw an interview of him and he was saying that he had tried over and over again but he could never get hoochie coochie man the way he wanted it to sound, like the original muddy version so he didnt want to make a record or play it live.

  • Get a clue Xaffax.

The drummer here is Steve Gadd. One of the greatest musicians to ever walk the face of the earth.

  • In addition Xaffax, Derek Trucks did the last E.C. tour. Would you consider him mediocre as well?

    Your comment shows your ignorance.

  • Absolutely, Ithink Trucks is very overrated. For a very young guy hey did a nice Duane Allman copy, but he has never grown beyond that. He lacks originallity.

  • derek trucks is probably the best living slide guitarist

and why dont you come up with something new if its so easy xaffax?

    lets see you do better

  • Well what can you say about taste, but I would say things aren't that dire.

Ry Cooder, Johnny Winter, Bonnie Rait , Chris Rea, Jeremy Spencer, Warren Haynes and quite a few other killer slide players are still alive.

  • Gadd I remember from Simon and Garfunkel in central park. That was brilliant. What he does here does not measure up to that.

  • how bout billy preston and andy fairweather low? Oh yeah and steve winwood? Derek Trucks? B.B. king? All mediocre players?

  • First of all i'm talking about his solo bands, not the bands he was in or people he did projects with like BB or JJ.

But if I take his solo bands and compare them with the Bands of BB.King, Freddie king, Muddy Waters or Hound Dog Taylor or Albert Collins they don't measure up in their performance.

  • I think it's never been put better than this:

    Clapton is god

  • love this tune man, makes me wanna fondle some boobies or somethin

  • Amazing cover... that is all.

  • Man, to those people who says he can`t play, they probably never understood the blues whatsoever.

  • not even fucking close to muddy

  • your really dumb.

  • why?

  • Great video !!

  • i can't think about what if eric would have been black, grown up by the mississippi delta.....

  • Then he wouldnt be Eric Clapton. He'd be a black man growing upp in the mississippi delta...

  • This is one of the Best Ones that Clapton has done, his chorus that he plays is a feeling and emotional, I get the "goose bumps" when I listen to him play. Hes the Greatest!!!!!

  • Ave E.C.

  • I miss the "blues" ...
