2002 had surgery 2 repair a tricep injury which he suffered during a photo shoot for FLEX magazine. While under anesthetic, Orville experienced a seizure and went into a coma. From there, he was placed on life support machines. Presently, Orville is feeling better and able to talk and walk. However, a career in competitive bodybuilding is now out of the question
Orville was having a simple tricep op when under anaesthesia he lapsed into a coma. He was challenging Ronnie for sure - two IFBB pro victories (Toronto pro invo & Night of Champions) followed by reaching the Olympia top 6 posedown and placing 6th behind the likes of legends Coleman, Levrone, Ray & Cormier. And then it all ended following this op after the following years Mr Olympia. Sad stuff, for a man with the best waist to shoulder ratio of his time, as you can see in the rear lat spread.
