This is why she is NEVER considered a favorite to win a major. Smh. She's "the best player in the world" (notice i put that in quotes.) and she's never a top contender. Thats cuz she care more about that ranking than she does winning majors. She plays a billion small tournaments to rack up ranking points and then she just falls apart in the majors. and keep in mind, the top players often choose not to play the smaller tounaments. so she's jus beating players that dont ever really amount to much.

The strange thing is she lost this match to Hantuchova then when most players prepare on grass for Wimbledon she palyed in Copenhagen. I guess this was due to it being a home tournament. She then lost to Cibulkova at Wimbledon then the following week plays on clay in Bastad. Playing all these smaller tournaments still doesn't legitimise her No1 ranking.

She is an embarrassment to the WTA.

I wouldn't be surprised if Serena is number 1 by Wimbledon 2012.

@pb123451508 I would go even further--playing the small tournaments actually proves how suspect her ranking is (quantity over quality). Serena is the best in the world when she is healthy, but I doubt she'll be number one because she prefers not to play a lot of tournaments. But I can easily see Kvitova or Lisicki passing Wozniacki in a year. Hopefully soon tennis fans will be saying "Caroline who?"

@yahwhous Yeah completely agree with you, quantity over quality with Wozniacki. Kvitova or Lisicki would both be worthy world number 1's. Unfortunately I have a feeling Wozniacki will probably be at No 1 for a few months longer and I would be shocked if she won the US Open. I find her game technically poor, her forehand and serve are poor. She cant even hit a sliced backhand without using 2 hands

@pb123451508 It was such a surprise to me she played Copen.It's in her country,but had I been in her position,I'd prefer to prepare for the next Grand Slam, instead of pleasing the crowd. And why the hell did she play Bastad? I mean, it's not like she's a great claycourt player... Every player is different, and maybe she wants to play a lot of matches to feel confident, but I think it would be better to train and rest a little more, instead of having a shoulder injury playing a small tournament.

wozniacki has no game plan. She just lost wimbly. She's going to play a 250 wta clay tournament tomorrow. Winning small title can't justify her world #1. Go to gym, get stronger, practice more net volley and win a GS!

Most importantly, get rid of father coaching.

@tchachinafan If Wozniacki faces an offensive player who is playing high percentage tennis with limited unforced errors, she practically is screwed as she really doesnt have any firepower. This match reminded me so much of her match aganist Kvitova at Wimbeldon last year. She just got ripped a new a-hole.....
