It's sad that this kicking issue wasn't handled earlier. It was written in the sky that it would cause her problems in the future. Back then, it wasn't that bad, but now that she is bigger, she has to kick harder to compensate. Fortunately she is working on it. I think it's slightly better. However, she does need the spins and the flexibility in order to stay competitive

i HATE that she doesnt do her toe jumps lightly.

thats why i don't like her. your supposed to just pick the toe and then jump, but she basically slams her foot into the ice D:

I agree with you... its the only thing I don't like about her skating, when she does the lutz and the flip it looks like she swings her leg out and around and then stabs it into the ice.

I don't mean to nit pick but she's so elegant otherwise. I love the way she spins. I really wish she would improve those two jump take offs because it is a bit distracting.

They're probably custom made.Just like about every other skater on the junior and senior level.

They have a brand not a model.Models are different kinds.You probably can get the same brand but not the same skate.They shape it like your foot,put support where you need it,and how tight it needs to get is custom too.I would say she gets the skates with the American flag on the heel (Danielle Kahle gets that brand) or harlick.

Her biggest problem is her speed and technique on some of her jumps. She's gotten a lot better on her take-offs but those are two main areas she's gotta improve upon. Her skating is fabulous but those are the areas the judges dock points for so to compete with the other ladies, she has to improve. But I just love watching her! She's very consistent and she skates with so much maturity to be so young.

I forgot to mention, a lot of the swinging of her arms and the hard toepick have to do with her upper body strength as well. You need strong legs for skating but upper body strength is key, especially for footwork and jumps. Hopefully she has been working on that for next season too. I can't wait til October when skating starts up again!
