  • is this a protocol? i thought it was a joke at first but seeing thru the corky contraptions it seems pretty nice

  • Actually, this is a back-engineered full range of mandibular travel articulator. It is based on the real dimensions of this now long-departed former owner of these teeth -as duplicated in stone here. A Biology student had dropped this original valued object, which broke the teeth as can be viewed.

Then after fixing those broken teeth and in an inventive inspirational moment, the further undertaking of this unique fully adjustable articulator also came about.

    Thanks for your comments,

  • ic, are those "dimensions" reproducible to a high degree of certainity when it comes an actual patient? (ex. complex prosthodontic treatment). Thanks.

  • Yes, in a diagnostic and treatment sense of it all, it certainly is, as are other articulators I have invented and/or redesigned with this purpose in mind.

(Some of my rather inexperienced attempts at capturing their movement dynamics using only a small digital video camera also are on my 'YouTube' page)

While "Terminator 1 Articulator" only is a prototype, its logic and parallel biomechanical accuracy in relation to any given or proposed "prosthodontic treatment" is unequaled.

    Thanks,

    oahjr
