  • I disagree, these are the type of ads that sway people's opinion the most.

  • These types of ads are very unethical.

  • haraper refuse to buy nuclear weapoons!

  • These attack adds, door-to-door pamphlets, and yard signs are costing millions in combined costs when these parties could be investing that money into Canadian families/job programs/education.

The last election cost taxpayers 300 million dollars.

    That's why I never vote.

  • These attack ads are useless

  • Party politics just enforces the false left/right paradigm. All 3 Canadian parties are corrupt, because the whole system is rotten. We live in a constitutional monarchy, NOT a republic. We live in a system where an unelected has the power to halt our parliament. Isn't that a tyranny? Nor do we have control of our nation's currency. We have given that power to a private bank the Bank of Canada, and pay them interest for the honor. Why not print it ourselves instead of being in debt to IMF?

  • Does this imply your going to do less than harper. Harper hasn't done a thing. He will go down in history as the single most irrelevant prime minister we have ever had and this is what you have come up with. No Progressive ideas. Nothing tangible nothing intangible and no real justifiable criticisms I Encourage not to vote Liberal, Or conservative. Let's all vote green, they have a plan as idealistic and naive as it may be. It's not like we won't have another election in a year.

  • Oh, and the greatest irony:

A motion of no confidence took out the 3 billion dollars that could have gone to the places that you criticized Harper for not spending in. Health Care, Education, and Senior Care.

Nice job opposition. One step forward,

3 Billion steps back steps back

  • GAH! I be the first person to say I don't like Harper but could you people PLEASE stop the negative ad campaigns? They're making us look like americans!

  • It's an old tradition for finance ministers to wear a new pair of shoes when delivering the budget. If you ask me, it should be a chef's hat.

  • As a mathematician I truly understand the power of one vote.

    So ya, I dont vote.

  • You high and mighty Libs can post what you want, but you will not win. ha.

  • Stephen Harper, while far from perfect (What was all that G20 crap?), is still the best choice by far for any Canadian who doesn't think with his or her ass. After years of Ontario premiere Dalton McGuinty (Liberal), and former mayor of Toronto David Miller (NDP), I've had enough of Harper's competitors' "policies" and their failed socialist experiments for two lifetimes. (This comment will probably be removed almost instantly, but at least I've exercised my DEMOCRATIC right to say my piece.)

  • @modernfreestyle

What are these mysterious failed socialist policies you speak of? I am actually really curious.

  • Harper put Canada into deficit before the recent financial crisis and he is asking us to vote for him as a prudent fiscal manager. That is a laugh - his uncosted plans for jails and jets is far more imprudent than the Liberals' announced campaign promises. Harper thinks that if he says something is true, then people will believe that it is true. Surely Canadians can see through this deceit.

  • Stephen Harper and Conservative party brought Canadians back to 150 billion dollar debt and who puts a lawyer Jim Flaherty in charge of Minister of Finance. We should start paying lawyers to do are yearly income taxes and finance are money, let’s see how that would work. Smart Canadians

  • I love how Stephen Harper and Conservative party don’t allow you to comment on their YouTube videos. This tells us how conservative’s party gives Canadians freedom of speech.

  • @MultiRev2011 To be fair the comments on this video need to be approved first. I trust that it's just a pre-emptive measure to stop trolls but one could argue that selectively filtering comments is more manipulative than flat out not allowing them.

  • @silverd20 It is i am conducting a bit of a study into what will and will not be allowed. For instances i have a comment suggested that people not vote. One suggesting people for conservative, One suggesting people vote liberal, One suggesting people vote neither liberal nor conservative because they have no tangible idea's. And one suggesting people return their ballets. I'm quite interested in seeing which ones are filtered seeing as how they're all civil and on different accounts.

  • These Us style ads are another reason not to vote for anybody.

  • Liberals talking about how Conservatives abuse power and yadda yadda. Nearly everything bad the Conservatives have done, the Liberals have done and vice versa.

Time to kick these idiot, power hungry politicians out.

  • Once they get the black suitcase, they can get ALL the money they want.

  • It's called the Obama administration in the US, why does it matter if its called the Harper Goverment. Besides what's a name even matter.

  • Magna Carta = 1215 ... Harper, you're 769 years behind!

  • The Conservative party better win a majority...

  • I love how the silhouette at the beginning shows his double chin.

  • Do you notice how the Liberals are only attacking Harper on little things that would normally not be an election issue? Why? Because they got nothing policy wise to offer that is better then what the conservatives are offering currently or plan to. We have the best and fastest growing economy in the world! Why would we mess with that, like the liberals want to?

I know this is going to get some heat (because no one can have different views other then liberals), but if you want to talk abuse of

  • ugh...

  • I am a self described Liberal. Left-winger. But that doesnt mean i hate/dissagree with all Conservative policies. But i can say full heartily that neither Ignateiff or Harper are that great. Canada needs a strong leader, someone young and fresh, or even with years of experience. This coming election makes me a bit nervous, i dont care for Harpers policies, but i dont like Ignatieffs either..... If only we had another Trudeau, Chretien or King...

  • Notice that these adds attack policy and explain the issue, and are not petty and sarcastic like the conservative adds.

  • Wait till he gets a majority. Then the fun will begin.

  • Im a conservative guy and not really a big fan of either big party right now hey everyone makes mistakes but in politics its about who can make the meast amount in your opinon. In My Humble opinon in unsafe waters i think hes gone too far with this and something should be done.

So go liberals Canada needs a break from harper.

Just as long as the people dont have to suffer the consquences

  • Conservatives (Brian Mulroney, Kim Campbell): $42 billion deficit. Result: 1993 Election. The Liberals, led by Jean Chrétien, won a strong majority in the House and formed the next government of Canada. Conservatives suffered the most lopsided defeat for a governing party at the federal level and managed to hold only 2 seats in the parliament.

Liberals (Jean Chrétien, Paul Martin): $12 billion surplus.

Conservatives (Steven Harper): $56 billion deficit and rising. Result: 2011 Election.

  • In 2005, Stephen Harper said, “You won’t recognize Canada when I get through with it.”

On May 2, 2011, let’s stand together as Canadians and show Harper that we’re through with HIM.

    Enough is enough.

  • @MegaCanadianA right on brother

  • Please everybody: VOTE!!! Your vote has never meant so much to Canada. If you are 18 or over, get your ass to those polls on May 2nd! End apathy! Take action! VOTE VOTE VOTE, dammit!

  • This kind of abuse as a minority government ...

can you imagine the abuse of power if HE is given a majority?

  • @curious007cur your scaring me bro, we can't let that happen

  • He's running this country like he's a dictator, HARPER NEEDS TO GO !!!!!!

  • Harper and his cabinet misled parlament, just that is enough to send them packing.

  • "Abuse." *THWACK* "Deceit." *THWACK* "Contempt for Canadians." *THWUMP*.

    CASE CLOSED!

  • Given how much Harper likes to protect criminals in his government (Bev Oda, who is under investigation for altering documents then lying about it in parliament, and Senators Doug Finley and Irving Gerstein, Michael Donison and Susan Kehoe who are up on charges for election fraud in 2006) I think Harpers new campaign theme song should be Breaking The Law by Judas Priest.

  • Anyone who votes for a government that was just found to be in contempt of parliament is no friend of Canada's. Liberal all the way!!!

  • Harper sucks immigration policy, too much waiting time for spouse - family uniting. Just ridiculous waiting time. Vote for liberal to bring change, hope and justice

  • We need to encourage young people to vote... If not, it's four more years for Harper

  • Time put an end to the Conservative Party. The Progressives are dead, this is Harper's regime now.

  • Stephen Harper. CONtempt: CONservative. CON.

  • About time the Liberals got some fight in 'em. Solid ad.

  • About time they started to fight back. Harpers been an idiot and acts as if hes the best thing since sliced bread...

  • Brilliant. They attack you on personal and false grounds ? Respond by attacking his politics, bringing up the quality debate. I like !

  • I don't like attack ads, but honestly - every point mentioned in this ad has been in my mind, not because it's a slant on reality that paints harper in some bad light but because it's all the truth.

I'm not a liberal, but that guy has got to go.

  • Does it really qualify as an attack ad if it's merely telling the truth?

  • They should definitely try to bring up the destruction of the census and how it will prevent us from making evidence-based policies for their next ad. It would show respect for Canadians and respect to all those organisations ruing the day the census fell.

  • It is about time the Liberals got BALLS and put out an ad like this. You will not beat Harper by being Conservative light. Be strong, definitive and honest....and you will beat him.

  • The thing that pissed me off most is what he is doing to the census.

  • I was really upset to see the conservatives ads on TV. All I can say now is IT'S ON.

  • lol kind of a pointless video, people arent going to vote for someone just cause they made video on youtube bashing the opposition. It's like Rick Mercer said on the Mercer Report, if the canadian politicians want to make these americanized attack adds then they should have to show their own face at the end of the video and say "I so and so approve this message", not the "federal liberal agency of canada..."

  • Liberal, is what I want.

  • This is what the Liberals need to do. Stop playing nice, but stick to the facts. List what Harper has done to take power over the government, but stay away from the 'dictator' rhetoric.

  • Normally I hate attack ads, but this REALLY needs to be said.

  • As much as I do not like Liberals, I hate Harper even more. So throw this guy out!

  • It's about time the liberal party wakes up! Sling it back at them! I know you can even do better than this!!

  • And every bit of this is the truth, As opposed to the twisted lies of the Harper government

  • I love how the liberal party acutally cares what canadians have to say and you know... allow comments on their commercials. give people an open forum on which to speak so to speak.

  • I didn't vote for him..........

  • It's about time. Fight fire with fire.

  • This IS MY Canada, and most certainly NOT Harper's.

Get that disgusting, fat, lying, unethical, manipulative, single-minded IDIOT out of my F#$^#$%ING country!!!!!

He likes to say Ignatieff isn't a Canadian. Oh, I'm sorry, he spent years TEACHING AT THE MOST FAMOUS UNIVERSITIES IN THE WORLD. Harper has been a politician all his life. All he cares about is staying at the top now that he's there. Are you Albertan fucks so stupid you're afraid of an educated man? Where did Steve get his degree!?

  • @bigfatdynamo What's out of context you big fat idiot? Nothing! It's all relevant because Darth Harper is ruining our whole fucking country. Take your right wing religious bullshit down to Kentucky where it's welcome, Canada is supposed to be an intelligent, tolerant, liberal, progressive country.

  • @malefic Why would you assume I am right wing? Because I am disappointed in all of Canadians political parties? Disheartened by the same cookie cutter ads? Disgusted by any lack of coherent vision?

Get a clue. Or get caught up in the rhetoric, it is probably easier for a mouth breather like yourself to hold the party line than to actually think critically.

  • I probably won't vote for the Liberal candidate in the next election, but this was a good as nonetheless.

  • @BoredomCorner Oh yes i'm sure the world hates them, particularly canadians. Thats why support is steadily climbing for the conservative party. Here's another one for you; if the Liberals had even a single shred of economic knowledge, they'd also know that pushing an election in the middle of a recovery is a terrible idea. Especially when Japan's natural disaster just erased our 2011 stock market gains. If they still go forward, all they reaffirm is how arrogant and ignorant they are.

  • @boolya3456 you are an IDIOT if you think it would be better to stick with Harper and his band of morons. They take credit every day for the fact that Canada has largely weathered the recession, but that is 101% thanks to Paul Martin's economic guidance. FACT: if Harper had been in power since 1990 he would have deregulated everything and we would be in the EXACT SAME situation the United States is facing. To disagree is to prove you are a conservative demagogue retard.

  • Man people are stupid these days. Everything the liberals are throwing at Harper are irrelevant to 99% of canadians. Its all just bureaucracy. And proroguing? That happened what, over 2 years ago? Once again, bring something up people have gotten past to try and stir up anger. All it proves is, the Liberals really have nothing tangible to go on. What DOES matter is the economy, and there is unamious acclaim for Harper's works globally. You lefties clearly forgot to take your ocmmon sense pill.

  • @boolya3456 It's all illegal, and Chretien/Martin were tossed for LESS than this.

  • @boolya3456 Oh and maybe you didn't notice, but the world HATES Harper.

  • LPC needs to put this on television NOW!!!

  • Wow, that's a powerful attack ad. I suggest you also view youtube(dot)com/watch?v=j-GekKKNUTU

  • what comes around goes around

  • Awesome. More attack ads. I guess voice-over guy's gotta eat, too, hey?

  • Unfortunately, "meaningless mudslinging" appeals to Canadians; we have seen that from the Conservative TV ads. While the Liberals didn't start it, I'm quite happy they are finally responding to the Conservative ads. It's not the high road, but it is necessary.

  • @TVAC......Really? You're going to try and connect Harper to nuclear meltdowns? Sad. I prefer the cricket sounds.

  • This is the video I've been waiting for. As Canadians, we're famous for being "nice", the world over. That said, 'Harper's Government" hasn't been playing nice for years now and I'm happy that the Liberal party has finally responded in kind. If you don't like "Harper's Government" now, just imagine what could happen if they win a majority in the next election. It's time to wake up, Canada. Our country is supposed to be a democracy - not a dictatorship.

  • FACT: Undermining democracy is a serious breach and attack on our country's laws and governance. Harper and his Ministers should be fired for their disrespect for citizens and Parliament.

  • @TVACdotCA Bloc Québécois should be fired, id much rather have a Conservative government than having a coalition government with the winey Bloc Québécois who want BILLIONS in dollar of fundings for them and want to leave canada, and people that are upset about the conservatives buying the f35 are just dumb.

  • @1234canadian1234 troll!

  • @2010tessa i dont care, i hate how people are bitching about harper spending money on our military, back when the avro arrows was being developed it was the opposite, the liberals were putting the money into it and then the conservatives stopped the research and destroyed the prototypes, in 1993 we need replacement for helicopters that were very old and were constantly groounded, the conservatives had set up to buy some AgustaWestland AW101 and then he cancelled it and had to pay a 500 million

  • @1234canadian1234 how much are you paid by the CPC to sit around do this all day?

  • @1234canadian1234 Wow, do a bit of reading before you spout your idiocy. The Conservatives are trying to force us to make the biggest purchase IN THE HISTORY OF OUR COUNTRY, and it's to buy a bunch of fighter planes OUR MILITARY ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT NEED! We need search & rescue aircraft, these can't even do that! Harper wants us to buy planes we don't need and won't even admit the cost is THIRTY BILLION FUCKING DOLLARS. Only a complete retard could support this prime minister. You are scum.

  • @malefic no people are saying we dont need them because of the COST, ill admit that we should develope our own plane instead of the F 35 because what we need a 2 engine, preferably variable sweep wing multi-role fighter that can operate in all conditions. and we have about 25 aircraft that are transport/ search and rescue planes, 5 dedicate search rescue planes and 14 agusta westlands that are for search and rescue, yea who needs to do some reading. Why do we need search and rescue aircaft when

  • @malefic How bout the 6-7 fighter jets we are sending to Lybia to enforce a no fly zone, against a country with fighter jets. Or would you rather have our pilots over there with planes from the 80's????

  • @malefic You're quite the expert on military requirements aren't you. A Conservative Government tried to buy SAR helicopters. Liberals killed it. We need jet planes to maintain sovereignty and fulfill our NATO and NORAD responsibilities. You maybe should stop spouting the foul-mouthed rhetoric and educate yourself about what you're commenting on. Anyone can run his mouth on the internet. Think before you type.

  • @malefic Its not 30 Billion dollars, that is ridiculous. And we do need better aircraft for our military, its not that we dont need them its upgrading the ones we have so if we do need them. Im in the air force and our planes are crap and are death traps, and since we fly in those things im kinda glad that we are getting them, and I work with the search and rescue, and the coast guard and yes we need more boats, but in the chopper department we are fine.

  • @1234canadian1234 wrong the history behind the arrows was in part of unding from the US military and canadian military which got cut and then the conservatives came in and replaced them with ground to air missiles which went obsolete with in 5 years! THe avro arrows where passed the stage of prototypes they had a working fleet of avro arrows versions 1 to 4 and all had the most advanced tech at the time some of wich was developed down the road from where i live!

  • @1234canadian1234 also what about that 1 billion spent on the g8/g20 summits? he has no repect for canadians or its economy!

  • @2010tessa termination fee and then he bought us some modified civilliant aircraft, woohoo those will work great :|

  • @1234canadian1234 So you're not bothered by our government wasting ever-more money on junkers?

  • @MrTedshaw If Harper had his way de-regulation would have led to a serious meltdown and crisis in Canada. All Harper is doing is spending money to buy votes. How's that any better than what you Tory activists complain the Liberals do?
