  • necro it is!

  • am I the only one who thinks this tournament was played only by n00b players? I mean .... cmon

  • @BudaBudie No shit, Sherlock. The game isn't out yet and these are just random dudes attending PAX.

  • Wow, Arena.net showing how it's done.

  • Necro is fine ... nerf Jon Peters !

  • I love how the ranger was just chilling on top of the church and kept shooting at everyone lol. He made a lot of battles that would have been 1v1, 1v2 insead from a distance.

But yeah for guardian, I'm going sword/shield plus hammer as well.

  • Jon Peters is indeed OP. They said it themselves on a GW2 Pannel, he beats all of them. Great to see that a player skill is indeed valuable!

I think I already have my favourite Guardian weapon set: Sword+Shield and Hammer!

  • 4:37 Jon Peters is OP. Nerf him!

  • @DHDirectX

its the lich form that helps keep him alive just like the tornado keeps ele alive and if you look one of the blue players are down. and a guardian shows up when he returns to normal so really if you look by the time he returns to normal theres only 1 person really fighting him 1 is down the other is fighting the guardian :)

  • @DHDirectX some1 who clicks cant be op sorry

  • @snois2 what's so bad about clicking? xD everyone has his own "style" and... well you saw, jon survived 3 other players.

  • @ToryFaol In GW1, clicking was the trademark of a bad player. But I don't think GW2 is playable without clicing (casting while moving).

  • @InfnityInfinity It will be if you can rebind your abilities. Mousewheel up, mousewheel down, middle mouse, mouse 4, mouse 5 mean that I've got all five of my damage abilities bound to my mouse, which means I would be able to move with wasd and never have to click any of my damage skills. Clicking will be a trademark of a bad player in any game that allows abilities to be rebound.

  • @Soruyao If your trying to say you need to bind skills to your mouse to be good then your sadly mistaken. I know of many good players that just use default settings and can own face. I myself use default settings and can articulate between skills fluently during combat, you dont need a shitload of fancy binds to be good.

  • @ChirtyPoundsOfBoost Sure, you CAN still be a good player with the default keys, if you move your fingers really fast or you shorten the time it takes for you to click a skill with the mouse. You won't be able to be quite as good as you could be due to having moments where your mouse isn't being used to change your facing (opening yourself up for being outmaneuvered) or one of your fingers is off wasd. Any handicap can be overcome with perseverance, but why give yourself a handicap at all?

  • @Soruyao The scroll bind can handicap you at times as well, it's all what YOU feel comfortable with. As you said perseverance can overcome handicap. I did HA and GvG in GW1 with default settings and won many times. The move while casting might force me to change things up a little but we'll see.

  • @ChirtyPoundsOfBoost I'm wondering how exactly the scroll wheel bind could handicap you? I agree with everything else you said. Fancy binds won't be as important as they are in wow, but they'll still give you slightly higher potential success. If you're just going for having fun and not trying to do everything the best you possibly could and trying to do tournaments and stuff, it couldn't matter less. :3

  • @Soruyao Well Im not sure about your mouse but the scroll on mine is super sensitive Ive tryed doing key binds to it but it just rotates to fluently and I overselect skills. Even in CSS I barley flick the thing and it goes through all my weapons. Maybe I just need a different mouse. Haha.

  • @ChirtyPoundsOfBoost Interesting. I've never had that problem before, but I would assume that if you keybound something with any sort of cooldown to the scrollwheel it wouldn't have the same problem. But yeah, it shouldn't be necessary in GWII, although I'm sure it'll help a little bit. :o

  • While mapping things to the mouse is the best way to keep yourself from being forced off wasd, you can also easily rebind things to an arc around your pointer finger for easy access. (F is MUCH easier to reach with the pointer finger than 1 is, for instance. If you're pressing 1 with your ring finger, then it's not as much of an issue, but otherwise your finger has to go really far. If you're using the mouse to orient, you can also bind Q and E to things.

  • @ChirtyPoundsOfBoost Heck, in wow, since strafing is full running speed and backpedaling (walking backwards with S) is incredibly slow, it's even advantageous to rebind S to an ability. This won't be necessary in GW2 though since 10ish abilities will be easy enough to bind without doing crazy stuff like that. (And since if you take more damage from the back, backpedaling will have a tactical purpose. :D)

  • @Soruyao Well I agree to your point with WoW. But that in that game you need to make use of 20+skills to play your character right. Your thinking what im thinking now and were absolutely right, in GW and GW2 you only need 10ish skills which you can just use your basic keys for access. That scroll bind does sound like a good idea but my mouse's scroll is to sensitive.

  • @snois2 its much quicker if you have fingers on wasd and 12345 and the rest just click or click numbers and mouse at the same time, you pull spells out much quicker, that was what he was doing, he wants clicking 1 for example he was tapping the key

  • Nice match. Wish water magic would heal a little more though. Seems too weak to even consider using.

  • Montanax sucks for posting this as match 8 when it's actually match 4!

  • @Xaielao2 this is the second of 2 tournaments :)

  • There was a Necro off to the side aiding the thief. But yea they owned that Ele.

  • Holy shit those thief's own the shit out of elementalist.

  • ^-- Idiot
