  • I love things like this, thanks! :)

  • i thought those rice cakes were marshmallows at first lol

  • where can i get the sticky rice cake for patbingsu?

  • @momoijisohma

in the summer.. Korean grocery stores might sell. ^^

  • @KikyoChanXD

    haha... funny..

  • my country has something like this too. But our version is just jellies, red beans, favored syrup on crush ice. :)

Would love to try your potbingsu though! :)

  • @tingtinglll its ice kachang right?

  • It looks very tasty *_*. You seem to be a very good cook ^_^. I always wanted to discover Korean food. Thx A Lot!!

  • Deshert mmmmmmmmmmm :D

  • every culture has their version of these desserts. In indonesian we have something like that too plus in taiwanese culture. all of asian culture.

  • could i use strawberrys instead of watermelons? :O

  • @Takoyakily

    yes.. that sounds good.. ^^

  • wow.. i really want to try that.. too bad i can't go to korea

  • Haha thanks! ^^ When i first went to korea, it was the first dessert i tried and fell in love with it! ^^ I ate it in a classy cafe too. :D

Ate it during raining season during summer. :o

The "Sweet rice cake" they put was Marshmallow? or it tasted like it...

I like how the ice taste sweet. :D but when you mixed it, it was really watery.. suppose to be like that? D:

  • @JCisAzN1337

yes.. since the ice melt..it will become watery.. I don't know what you tried.. if it was marshmallow or rice cakes..but typical thing is.. sticky rice cakes.. ^^ thanks

  • i did some variations, i used cocoa krispies and vanilla milk and tasted great.. next time i'll use diced strawberries or grapes ^^.. so good

  • It's look good =p~

    Love from vietnam :D

  • you can put "powder of roast rice" (미숫가루) into patbingsu ^^

  • @devidocq

that's not my taste.. so I will not do that.. but it's up to you.. hehe

  • Hi. I really like your videos and recipes and appreciate the work you're doin on uploading all this videos! :) I grew up with Korean food since my parents are both from Korea but we all live in Germany.

Thats actually why I'm commenting under this video, because I'm dying to make my own first bingsu this summer but couldn't find ANY way to get those small bingsu-ricecakes!!! It seems impossible in Germany. :'( Do you maybe have a recipe for that? Would be so great!! Thanks!

  • @Beatfruehlingsrolle

Nice to meet you. If you check my "Korean Food: Sweet Rice Cake with Red Bean Paste (찹쌀떡)" video.. use the same method for the rice cake part... just reduce a little amount of water ..and add more sugar.. actually you don't need all that rice cakes for your potbing su.. so you can cut the recipe half or more.. ^^

  • @aeriskitchen Thank you for your answer! :) I just tried the Bingsu at my familys place but unfortunately it wasn't as good as you can get it in Korea ^^, but we also tried the 찹쌀떡 recipe and my mum was delighted of the rice cakes (taste great and have a nice texture after cooling them some time in the fridge) So easy to make! ;) Thanks for all for recipes!

  • I need this 팥빙수 right now!!!!

  • you can just skip it, or I think you can buy it from Korean grocery stores.

  • @chiversorange

normal sticky rice cakes have plain rice flavor.. and the texture is chewy.. but for this special type of sticky rice has sweet flavor in it.. how about marshmallow ?? I didn't try that way before..but I think that can be good substitute.. hehe

  • hi hangiiexp,

    haha..really.. get it then.. ^^

  • sorry but this treat looks to sweet.I WONDER HOW MANY CALORIES R IN IT?

  • hi supersikchick3,

Oh... then you can reduce the amount for the sweet things.. since main ingredients is the crushed ice.. actually it's not that sweet after you mix all of the ingredients. Sorry..I don't know how much calories it will be.

  • I love your videos! By the way, where are you from? I'm from New York and we don't have Weis here but I go to school in Pennsylvania and there is Weis everywhere over there

  • aww you're too sweet. thank you :D

  • @kulyia You can find it in Asian markets(:

  • @ooxena is possible to make it by myself? lol

  • @kulyia Yep. You'll need a shaved ice maker (my mom bought one at an Asian market for about 15 dollars), along with sweet red beans (they're sold in cans with Korean letters on them), the sticky rice cakes, and some condensed milk. Just assemble and add some fruit if you wish. Ex: pineapple or watermelon. =D

  • hi cheapmeds,

Oops, I don't know what natto is.. sorry.. is there anybody who knows about it ???

  • I've never had it with corn flakes. We always used a soy powder or malt powder. I bought an ice shaver from a korean store so I could get the fluffy shaved ice instead of the crushed.

  • hi sabrinamom,

Try it with corn flakes sometime..hehe wow.. ice shaver ~~ Enjoy your potbingsu ... and make some for me... :)
