  • My fave Pogues tune - from the EP. Pure class no doubt. ;)

  • I'm under the influence of both booze and The Pogues! No better combination!

  • It's not possible to know or understand how hard one can rock an accordian until one hears this song.

  • 1 of the all time greats shane macgowan

  • "The devil moon took me out of Soho

Up to Camden where the cold north winds blow

Sucked along by a winter shower

To stand beside your shining tower"

    A true genius.

  • I wonder where this one's been published? Can't find it on any of their regular LPs, does anybody know the answer? Is it only available on some of the Best Of collections? Thanks !

  • You can have it by buying the "Rum, Sodomy and the Lash" extended version by Rhino. ;)

It is on the bonus tracks.

  • thanks for helping out!

  • @NorCalGustav It was originally on the " Poguetry in motion " e.p. but you can get it now on the remastered extended " Rum,sodomy and the lash ".

  • @NorCalGustav It is also available on the Poguetry In Motion EP, which is available as both a 7" vinyl and a single-sided 12" vinyl on Stiff Records. Both versions have four songs; London Girl, A Rainy Night In Soho, The Body Of An American, and Planxty Noel Hill.

  • @NorCalGustav

Poguetry in Motion (a 5 track album released in the US).

  • The accordion playing on this is insane, and I mean that as a compliment. Just awesome!

  • i love this song :)

  • I think Shanes's performace here is good, but that of the band is ecellent. The maturityof the band is begining to show through with its tightness compared ro RRFM and RSATL. Imagine Shane trying to sing London girl now...its tough to say it but he would ruin one of his best now.

  • I actually heard him sing it when he was in Chicago this year, and your correct his singing aint up to par to when this was recorded. But the best part was that everyone in the audience sang every song with him... most amazingly nostalgic show I've seen.

  • heard him while he was off the drink for a few eeks . . .ter a few months back and wow...he was great

  • What's not hot about Shane then? Lol. Of course he's hot and he's brilliant as well lol that's what counts doesn't it.

  • dear god he isn't hot. but he can SING ;)

    bow:

i like this song very very much ;)

  • shane=hotnessss

  • if you seen what he is like now,i dont think you would have that dream anymore!!peace from ireland

  • i love Shane MacGowan, I want to drink with him and listen to him sing to me..thats my dream!

  • go to the boogaloo pub in north london nearest tube is highgate on the northern line

  • good song but i prefer leaving of liverpool

  • Genius...Brillant...MacGowan !

  • "I'll Come And Take You Back To Soho Away From All Those Madmens Eyes"

Shane MacGowan you Are God :)
