They seem to be the same to me. I just wish sony or somthing had a spotting scope you can attach to your digital camcorder that brightens the sky at night.
Noisey cameras in low light. These are great for their time but with the latest from Canon and Sony they don't even come close to the low light capabilities and image stabilization. Good tests but a bit dated now.
To all the people looking to get a camcorder, like the HF100 or something that is similar, or any camcorder in that kind of market segment, beware of low light problems.
In these kind of videos, the problems don't come out.
The problem starts when you're trying to take video indoors in the evening with only a few lights on in the house.
*ALL* these types of camcorders will give you incredibly grainy video.
I would consider waiting until DSLR's do decent video. Bigger CMOS chip for one.
Oh my gosh I would LOVE to have the canon vixia for Christman.... If only Santa Claus ACTUALLY existed, then I would defintely be getting one of them, I mean, I HAVE been a REAL good boy this year!
there has to be a prick on every page, why cant people just talk about the video instead of talking shit about other people, too many young dick heads on here. drummer your an asshole
I just ordered a HF-100 from newegg. From all the reviews i've read the canon is one of the best out there in that price range i got it for $565, Plus i've read that sonys customer service is terrible
bought mine from newegg as well but paid 529 total i did not open it yet how do you like it? I am wondering if i should return so i trying to get feedback from owners.
ooh there is big difrence in colors canon rocks and also canon shot look more soft and less grains ,,,i know that the grains looks so hidden ...but i think canon wins ...i hope that i can see comparison between 2 canons like hf100 and hg20 and the difrence between them
Thanks. I did a little more searching and found some good night shots with the HF10/100 that look really good. it looks like cine 30p mode is the best way to do it. you might not see as much but the blacks are nicer and far less grainy.
didnt even look hd

Our videos were shot with a HF100 at Disneyworld, Orlando.

Pretty good quality really !
You can always change the mode to fireworks or spotlight mode at night.
We went just before Christmas and shot some of the shows in HD like this.

They are the same except that the HF100 has no internal memory, and the HF10 has 16GB of internal memory.

I know AVCHD has problems with low light but both look pretty terrible to me. how does this compressed footage compare to the original?
davidskessler 3 years ago
Be sure to watch them in HD. The first shot was very low light so any camcorder would have problems with that. The second isn't so bad comparitively.

It seems as though the video quality is the same, I do notice that the Sony CX12 has a slightly better microphone

I think you meant to say "you're" but okay.
Considering you don't even understand how English works, I'm going to go ahead and say: Fuck you. In return.
