Homolka is a monster and this won't change, certainly not after just 12 years in jail. If this monster can be foisted on us then we are entitled to know where she is, what she is called now, what she looks like, where she works and every oither detail to track and avoid her. Horrifyingly, she is now a mother and presumably has access to other children, given the age of some her victims this should never be allowed.

Stupid. Levels of evil? Only one. Karla is no less evil than Paul. There may be different drivers but it is, utimately, what you do that defines you. It was Karla's sister, not Paul's, that they killed, among others. They were both evil monsters.

Unfortunately reality is not so simple as to have a fact like the one you believe. I'm not saying Karla is innocent, and I'm not saying that she shouldn't spend the rest of her life in jail. Karla needs to 'repay society'. But in retrospect, it is a disservice to ourselves to think of something so ridiculous as an 'evil scale'... as what Karla shows is that we are all capable being manipulated in a similar way. Maybe not so easily, but nonetheless, completely.

I disagree, a sociopathy or psychopathy has to pre exist to make an individual compliant to these sort of things.
Karla took her and Paul's chosen last name Teale AFTER she was incarcerated, this is a touchstone of their accomplishments, based on where the name originated. The acts are her drug, not the man that she committed them with.
While a scale of "evil" (Bomp bom bom) is ludicrous, Karla Homolka still has some underlying pahologial problem completely unrelated to Paul Bernardo.

Neither would I help my boyfriend to snatch young girls off the street, imprison them in a wardrobe for days in between raping and assaulting them, then video tape their murder, dismember them and dump them. Nope, can safely say I would never be manipulated in such a way. Karla was as bad as Paul, if not worse for what she did to her own sister. Karla had the opportunity to let Kristin go and DIDNT.

I agree. It was as much Karla's fantasy as it was Paul Bernardo's. She dreamed of being in a submissive relationship with a powerful, handsome male. To further that fantasy, she enthusiastically and willingly made it possible for him to get away with it. They were able to kidnap girls because seeing a male-female couple together put the victims off their guard. Then she plays the gender card...oh poor poor little feminine flower. People are way too different and their motives and backgrounds too complicated to be simplified on a scale (not to mention that evilness and goodness are relative, not concrete). And that lady who judges "love" - we still can't scientifically discern what exactly qualifies as love vs infatuation, etc. and here she is determining the effects of love???
