Not much difference...I guess everything depends on your local trails conditions. We don't have any rocks around here, so hard-tail is perfectly fine. On other hand, I don't see hardtail as a good choice in AZ for example...

hardtails are fun to throw the back end out and to do rhythm sections but for rock gardens and large roots fullys all the way, but they're so much more forgiving when you muck your line up. but regardless i love both for different reasons

Find it funny when some one says a full sus is heavy, dh bikes weigh a ton but my new full sus is lighter than my hard tail i can lock out the rear sus on it for better power transfer. The only bad thing is the price but its definitely worth the money! :)

i have to say i have a full sus and hardtail for this i would pick my hardtail its more fun to flick about but the reason for my full sus is for heavy downhill trails where you cant really take a hardtail just because the back end will jump too much and that means less speed no pedalling and that causes me some frustration at times

You can see the full sus coping better I think, on the rougher stuff. Nice video. You can always lock out the sus to effectively make a hardtail for climbing.

@sLeighTkiLLa Hardtail: Pros- MUCH cheaper, lighter, better for trail use and climbing up hills ect, better to learn on because you have to learn technique to ride one well rather than just letting the bike compensate.

cons: Harder to ride at first, slower over rough stuff/may not be able to ride VERY rough terrain.

Full sus: basically the opposite, much more expensive, heavier ect

@cityspud123 Never ridden the Voodoo Bantu, but the best thing you could do is check out your LBS. Also, it's not about the looks but instead how the bike feels for you. On a plus side of going to a LBS, they can tell you what bike would be good for the area that you live in. But if you are going to only spend 300-400, buy a used bike instead.
