Well, black plague has more liimited weapons than overture. The whole point is to deny the most basic human nature of curiosity and wrecklessness and instead resort to resourceful caution. It makes things... so much more tense!

Penumbra : The Black Plaque is completely without any kind of combat system. You always have to run away from the 'Infected' and all the other things. the first Penumbra had a combat system, but it was a rather...awkward one because it felt a little too realistic, but you never get a gun in either of both games. In the first game you only get melee weapons like a hammer, a pickaxe and such.
