Very comfortable looking crib, but I agree with the first comment about drop down cribs being dangerous when not used correctly or if it is broken.

drop down cribs aren't safe. They've just been banned in Canada because the locking mechanism can break, and a baby's weight on the broken mechanism can cause a dangerous accident. Much of the time, parents don't even notice whether or not the mechanism is broken.

safety really is the biggest issue.

I got my head caught in my crib when i was a baby, i was unharmed... but just shows how bad my crib was for that type of thing.

of course that was the 80's i would hope things are better now
