This album is awesome. I do also like The Jester Race but after that the band kinda goes to crap, but even still they go to utter shit after album 4 or 5.
IDC if you're a "real fan" old and new In Flames are both NOT good. Lunar Strain is a brilliant unique album. What happened to this band? :(
@tiki2188 Touring with Slipknot ruined them. They started using digital tracks and all wearing those white shirts. I saw them touring with Slayer in the late 90's and it pissed me off. Clayman was the beginning of the end for them (IMO).
i am a fan off all in flames albums, except ASOP. i just didn`t really to dig that album. hope for the new album to be good :) beatifull song btw, who is the girl?
imagine all desperate ppl with a gun on their head hesitating werther to shoot or not and then that song passes on the radio at the same time lol ......................powwww guarantee lol
@Maxarcc yhea it would be a best thinking , but you know what , i heard something smart once and it was :" the pessimistics are optimistics with experience ." lol ;)
@pspvampire thank god there are still people listening to that music, ALL OF YOU THANK YOU FOR EXISTING! If everybody were listening to today's mainstream i would have definately killed myself (and it isn't only about the music....)
@JimInFlames :) haha Old In Flames will always be better than new In Flames.
Not to say all new IF songs are bad, but their old music was of a whole different standard. I rarely listen to Reroute, I only occasionally listen to Come Clarity, I NEVER EVER go near Soundtrack to your escape. All the rest, played every single friggin day. Especially Colony. \m/
@pspvampire not a STYE fan? i wasnt either, til i sat down one day and listened to the in flames discography. theres an intimate dichotomy going on with their music, an evolution persay. i recommend giving it another go, cause im tellin ya man, the ideas the newer albums plant in your head are utterly unreal, just vibe with it dude, let the music take you, listen to it the way the band listens to it. that being said, older in flames is far better than the new, but it is in flames, it is godly
@19wayfarer19 I know what you mean man. I act as if I hate new In Flames more than I really do I guess. lol tbh it was Come Clarity that really got me into them in the first place.
And I do consider all their new albums great albums but I'm just disappointed about their musical direction. I'll give STYE another chance I guess. lol I did the same for RTR and ended up really enjoying it.
@pspvampire come clarity was the album that got me into in flames as well, take this life to be specific, saw the video on muchloud one evening (yes, this was a while ago), and felll in love with IF since then, then my friend introduced me to the colony album (embody the invisible, resin, insipid 2000), and then it was official i was hooked. songs from STYE that really got me into the album was superhero of the computer rage, discover me like emptiness, evil in a closet, and the quiet place IFWT
@19wayfarer19 Cool :P I heard them actually like 6 years ago, some songs from Clayman I heard online. And back then I didn't really like that much music at all but I thought it was cool but I didn't get hooked at the time.
About 5 years later, I hear Come Clarity and think it's amazing. And now I'm listening to them every day xD
Okay cool. I'll give the whole album of STTYE a listen then when I'm not busy xD
@Bomber0907 Well, this album was rereleased by Candlelight records, and the songs on it were mixed up, but the tracklist on the back of the CD was the same, so there's a lot of confusion about which song is which. But this is Everlost Part II. I have the original CD of this.
Favorite song off of Lunar Strain. The up-and-down acoustic lines have always been an In Flames staple, from Acoustic Medley to Pallar Anders Visa to the Alias interlude.
That guitar solo at the end is probably my favorite out of their entire discography. It's got a definite Santana-like vibe to it. I think if they applied the same clean-reverb effect to the acoustic Alias solo off of their latest album, it would have sounded just as great as this.
jennika johansson i believe, i dont think there is any relation. if youve heard about a sister being a vocalist, im pretty sure bjorn gelottes sister is the singer of some lame band.. but ive never heard anything about any of jespers siblings doing such things
Actually, I do not have the album "colony". Their albums are very tough to find in the music stores where I live. I will definitely check it out. Don't get me wrong, LarcherESP, I do love their classic albums as well. Regardless of their drastic changes in music style in their more recent albums, I love the band's music..... PERIOD!
Guitar hero doesnt actually pick good quality music, the "metal" they pick is pretty much always pop metal, metalcore, maybe deathcore, never legit metal...
Fully agreed. And if they think Guns n Roses and Mötley Crüe is legit metal they are way off. Guitar Hero is one of the most overrated games of all time. If they choose more metal bands like Bolt Thrower, Dissection, Running Wild, Immortal, Satyricon, then we will talk.
...and they picked one of the worst songs of CoB - Too easy to play, does not sound as good as the old stuff! If you are going to pick a good CoB song to GH or RB style game, best choices would be Lake Bodom, Downfall, Touch Like an Angel of Death, Everytime I Die. Heck, anything from Hatebreeder or Something Wild! Those songs would be really challenging with very fast sweep solos and would be fun to play, not easy and not so good sounding new ones.
A lot of people seem to have the new, re-released copy of this album, which mixed up the name of Hargalaten and Everlost pt. 2. The song tracks are in the right order, they're just named wrong. It's a weird phenomenon that Jesper claimed was kind of embarrassing. I have both copies of the album (the original release is MUCH better than the remastered). That said, I have a lot of other bootlegs and live albums of In Flames, along with their usual discography. Favorite. Band. Ever.
Colony and Clayman were pretty good after Whoracle, The Jester Race is my favourite album ever though.
There's a few select songs after that on other albums, and then Come Clarity seemed like a step back into the right direction but A Sense Of Purpose just made me lose hope.
i really wish in flames would mix their roots up with their new stuff, i like the new stuff, but this way the in flames i fell in love with. listen to that melody!! its soooo fucking beautiful
if you actually listen to their newer stuff youl see that the guitar style is actually quite good, but the vocals on their newer stuff, i agree, is much worse.. so combine the new instrumentals with the old vocals and you would have something great i think
