  • The federal government should not be managing healthcare. Healthcare needs to be handled through the state governments. When the states handle healthcare, then the people have all of the power, even if they don't effectively use it. If the federal government were to take cotrol of the healthcare it would not work properly due to different regions having different needs and then the people will have no recourse to ever fix it. I would explain more, but am running low on characters.

  • Sicko is stupid.Micheal moore is a muckraker. You are saying that everyone should Have to pay higher taxes and pay for other peoples health care. Pay for those who are able bodied and mind to learn the skills to pay the bills. Health Care is not a RIGHT. The gov. wasnt in trouble in 911. The key word their is volunteer. Im tired of the socialist plots to create a centralized governement and FORCE people to buy things. God bless those 911 workers but its not the gov. job to wipe their ass.

  • Well first off I would like to point out that although there are 45 million uninsured not counting illegals there are only 8 million that cannot afford and desire health insurance and this guy said

"the guvament isn't taking care of them" let me ask you when did it suddenly become the responsibility of the government to take care of you how about you drag your own ass out and take care of yourself it is called responsibility people

  • Have you ever seen the documentary on Michael Moore? I doubt it. Sicko makes points but it fails to leave out that many proceedures that are done here are put on a waiting list as long as it is from NYC to Miami. My Father worked in Hospital Inspection for the Federal Government among many things. I thought socialized medicine was great but I have socialized medicine so I must say it is nothing more than something that can end your life prematurely. Especially old people. Michael Kennedy

  • I'm going to rent Sicko today. I was going to a while back but now it's official. I'll do a video sometime this weekend.

    Later Ron.

  • Alright man. Thanks.

  • Another great movie about health care is John Q.

  • Ya man I totally feel for you guys in the U.S.A that have no national health care.

  • america could afford a NHS like we have in the UK...why your country hasn't implemented such a scheme doesn't make sense, scrap fucking insurance and help people who need help.

  • I saw how that NHS shit worked. That is crazy.

  • I'll be honest, I would love to be a citizen of your country. If some of your governing parties would some how convince ours that would be great. The mindset of our politicians is so ass backwards. Hopefully Hiliray Clinton will finally get her plan rolling.

  • due to me catchin Pheumonia in Dec 07...that woke me up to having Health Insurance....the only people safe for having that shit with no hassle is Women with kids cuz they get all that shit for free...then make the father pay for her HAVING it lol...crazy

  • You may have to pay alot more to get it to work, the NHS over here is in a pretty shit state right now.

  • Really? What's wrong with it?

  • Its needs more money basically. Nurses are paid no-where near enough, some new drugs are to expensive to get, the hospitals are falling apart and dirty, theres not enough staff to cope with the number of patients. The list goes on.

Plus the law suit culture has crossed over to us now so it has to pay out for that.

I'd be ok with paying more taxes to get it to work, but the government wastes money in other areas so people dont want them to waste more of their money.

  • the problems with the NHS are easily solveable though, the influx of funding is just going to the wrong places atm, but yes i agree that taxes are fine if the money is used correctly, goverments need to held more accountable for their spending policies

  • I'm sure you're right but I cant help but think if the problems could be solved they would have been by now. Maybe i'm giving the government to much credit.

For one of my modules at university we were shown a graph of deaths per year per 1000 people in the UK since 1850. There is a general downward curve until 1948ish when it dropped almost vertically. That alone should make countries adopt the policy. Money is worth more than people it seems.

  • bureaucracy tends to be out of hand in some areas of govement spending, and completely unregulated in others. NHS is hinded by this i think, the areas of research, drugs and nurses pay are lacking, where the majority of money these days goes to adminstration and hospital management. I was in hospital recently, and the lack of staff was unexpected, but cleanliness was good, but i guess its regulated differently in each hospital, and each council district.

  • So that's why you were talking about health care so much the other day. Man my health card got cob webs on it lol. All dat free health care and I aint doing nothing. They got money to put people on wit HD TVs but they cant hook up free health care, what does that tell you about their priorities lol

  • Even worse, money to bailout people that have fucked up the economy.

  • I don't need a video to tell me how fucked up the health care system is, all I have to do is get shot and show up with no insurance..

  • I am glad your willing to pay more taxes but that doesn't make it okay to force taxes on the unwilling. Unless of course the majority should be able to coerce the minorities? There is a way around this... Voluntary taxation which in actual terms is donation. Just advocate donation and no one will ever have a problem with your position :D

I am middle-class, your also making a genetic fallacy saying that the source matters, it never does.

  • Most hospitals will take any in critical condition regardless of insurance. I have seen numerous debates on whether illegal aliens should be allowed health care? Because at the moment they are. That hospital should be sued up its ass for contradicting its Hippocratic oath. Our system is already over 45% socialist. People still die in other countries with universal health-care because of the lines. UHC isn't a panacea for greed and immorality.

  • I am there with you our government sucks... So why the hell do you want to give it more money and power to solve issues it created? Its like giving a thief money to go changes his ways. Fat chance...

I dont know about Cuba, but I would bet money their were political reasons if what you said were true. There is no such thing as a free lunch, remember that. I am currently watching Sicko actually, not done though. Thanks for bring up the topic.

  • Yeah, I agree. But I also realized something while watching "Sicko." Alot of these countries with free health care have it because the GOVERNMENT is scared of the people. Here in America, we're scared of the government, something that shouldn't happen. As long as the government has no fear of the people, we can't get things we want and need. "Sicko" really helped me to understand health care better. It's crazy. Tell me what you think.
