  • It kind of reminds me of early Pink Floyd. Who knew you were a hippie.

  • @098rest Thanks for listening.

  • I do really love vintage Ken Middleton stuff :-) X

  • Thanks Ruth. I have a few more ancient recordings, but they're pretty primitive.

  • This is great. To me, it has a late 60's feel. Love the video you added to this gem!

  • Thanks John. I have a few more 30 year old recordings left.

  • What a treasure! Looking forward to hearing more!

  • BLUE...tiful Ken! :°)

  • Thanks. Equipment was really primitive in those days. Today, I can do far more just using my iPhone.

  • Really enjoy these old recordings. Loved the vocals on this. Wonderful!

  • Thanks Shane.

  • Yes yes, very cool song, Ken. And the pictures are very well chosen. Love your style.

  • Ok, now it is working. I love this tune, Ken. You had a very high vocal range. It's a psychedelic tune with early eighties shadows. In the beginning the bass sounds like Take a walk on the wild side, isn't it. I love all your old stuff, Ken. Great energy. Hope you post a lot more from those days.

  • Thanks Paolo. Yes, I have a few more old recordings.

  • Very cool Ken. Sounds like something that would've been right at the cusp of the 80's scene.

  • Thanks Brad. I have now worked out that I recorded it sometime during 1979.

  • Cool song Ken! Sounds a bit lite Genesis? (the band, not the book...) Love the high voice - you should give it try again!

  • My days of singing that high are over, R.

  • I jumped (literally) with excitement when I saw this on my subs list! Yay! :-) This reminds me of David Bowie, that's a good thing! I'm in Heaven listening to this! :-) Was hooked from the beginning. That BASS! And the synths, and the distorted vocals, not to metion the lyrics, aaahh, my head's gonna explode! haha. Awesome overload! Can't describe, lost words! You may think it's sloppy but it's pretty darn perfect to me! LOVE LOVE LOVE it! :-) Cool vid, the Blue Meanies! Yay! :-) X

  • "The man bent over his guitar, A shearsman of sorts. The day was green. They said, "You have a blue guitar, You do not play things as they are. ..." " (Wallace Stevens).

Thanks very much Ruth. I pleased you like it.

  • classic Ken rocks! very neat recording.

  • Just worked out that it was recorded in 1979. Same year as Gary Numan's "Are Friends Electric".

  • Wow! Very cool Ken!

  • Thanks Deach. I wished I had video (film) from that time, but I have never actually owned a video (cine) camera.

  • Awesome mix of sounds! It's so cool that you kept these intact all these years. My stuff from 1983 is who knows where..? The song is very cool too. Reminds me of Dukes of Stratosphear, which came after this, of course! Playing with sound was more fun back then, some how. I miss splicing tape!

  • Thanks Alan. This is a sort of pre-punk thing.

If I made one mistake it just keeps getting worse and worse as it was bouncd it from track to track. But, as you say, it was fun back then. I don't much multi-tracking these days. It has somewhat lost its appeal.
