  • LOL...CHANNEL 10 .....LOL GOOD ON YOU SHOW EVERYBODY WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE,,,,,LOL

  • you wouldn't notice them until you see the uniformed officer inside

  • Usually the big ass antennas on the back give them away.

  • @cam123m wouldn't you just be proving their points? *shrug* that's a pretty kafkaesque statement you got there blood.

  • Ever heard the story of people posing as cops, with the flashing lights and the fake uniforms and the fake badges. That were escaped convicts who just happened to also be kidnapping rapists. Yeah, because you want to stop for an unbadged, unnoted, vehicle with just some blue-red strobes. Especially! E-e-specially! if they're gonna rape you!

  • Unmarked Cop Car regardless of the breed of car, stands out like dog balls! You can always pick them ...

  • not too secret now are they. plus it's pretty fkn easy to spot unmarked cars even on the highway....

  • Wait if they did some like this here in america like using these "Q cars", how many ppl would pull over to a honda accord or mazda????? Honestly. Majority of us would thank its sum kind of prank or sumthing. Do they do that here in the US, use "Q cars"???

  • well now we do know it, thnx to the news hahaha

  • I got caught by one of them the other day you cant pick them out like u can with some other undercover cars. I would of been pissed off but the cop was a really nice bloke and wasn't a high and mighty wanker like some cop get at times. I think that's what make it easy take the fine and points that you deserve when the cop isnt being a real dickhead. We all speed at some point. luck for me he caught me only 11over

  • just make sure you get away next time

  • thats such bs ye ye for following the laws but this is just stupid... America has the most car accidents because they don't teach driving fully... Every other country isnt as strict on driving laws and they have less accidents....

  • What they need to do next is to push for private companies to apply for government subsidies to pay for police "special shifts".

  • Power corrupts all

  • unmarked cop are a wast if time put a fully mark car in the same spot and all the cars around it would all do the right thing .

  • IF cops care about road safety why don't they pull over the Silver corollas with a middle aged person that cannot stay in 1 lane.

All they care about is getting people who are 'hooning' But hey it's easier to pull over someone who is speeding then it is to try and explain to some dumbass they can't drive in one lane or they has trouble looking next to them while changing lanes. Because those people are more dangerous then doing 10 over the limit in light traffic.

  • Police are doing their job and people have to respect that. What is annoying is the blatent lie - "Speed cameras aren't revenue raisers". If that was fact then speed cameras would be highly visable with warning signs to alert drivers on approach. This would STOP people speeding and force drivers to obey the limit thus preventing crime. Hiding them might CATCH speeders but doesn't STOP them, two very different things.

  • @gnarkillkicksass sorry u are very wrong , speed cameras have be proven over and over again to give false readings put a marked car out there and watch what happens .

  • @672119 It depends if your talking X or Y band or multi band radar guns. Queensland police use ancient technology, your correct. In Europe and the ADF speed guns that use multiple bands are VERY accurate. QPS though won't bother as theirs make too much money to the Government.

  • @gnarkillkicksass I disagree. Having them highly visible with warning sings, means drivers know they are there, and just don't speed in that area. However when they're not so visible, drivers have to be aware all the time, and obey the speed limit all the time. simple fact, just don't speed at all.

  • to stay under the fucking speed limit you would have to be braking all the fucking time, your brakes would be worn out in one day, and it dangerous to brake then brake and fucking brake to stay under the limit...cops need to make money, thats what is all about, cops don't save lives, speeding tickets don't save lives. education of young drivers do..think how often you go over the speed limit every time you drive!! wrong place wrong time and there is a pig waiting to steal money from ya..cunts!!

  • @bigrod29 Let me explain to you the fundamental operating mechanics of a modern internal-combustion-engine-based automobile. In a standard operating environment. an automobile will not travel 10 kph or above whilst not holding down the accelerator pedal. In these cases it is necessary to use the brake to slow your vehicle. To reach the speed limit, you must hold down your accelerator pedal voluntarily. In these cases, it is not necessary to use your brake. Thus, your argument is invalid.

  • @bigrod29 so...what you are saying...is Because my car UNCONTROLLABLY ACCELERATES ON ITS OWN..i need to break all the time? you sir...ARE A FUCKING IDIOT. Gas pedals do not operate on their own...you need human interaction. as for cops not saving lives...answer this....car is speeding at 96 mph in a 35 cop sits on his ass, slams into a tree, all die, now could this have been avoided if the cop pulled him over and issued a ticked? yes...also, don't call 911 for help seeing as you hate cops

  • You hear more about speeding motorists and other pissy traffic fines than you do about cops doing real police work for a change... fucken revenue raising puppets in blue. Where i live in Caboolture, you'll have like two cops sitting in the squad car in a car park watching people go through YELLOW lights at a nearby intersection, then they radio the other cops parked around the corner ready to bust the motorists... ffs!! no wonder theres great resentment to them

  • @TCFan25 In the good ol' US of A, we don't do traffic operations nearly as often as patrol duties. Only in large departments do specific divisions form specifically for traffic enforcement.

  • hhahaha, good old VT commodore, what a performance/tank of a car

  • not so undercover now that it has been on national television. i know theres a lot of Subaru's and Honda's out there but the criminals now have better knowledge on what to look out for. and another thing, why do they have signs saying RADAR AHEAD. i mean seriously they would have a better chance of catching people who speed if it wasn't for those signs. its like the dumbest thing ever and makes no sense. unless they do it so even if theres no cop there, people are still gonna wanna slow down.

  • lol a few weeks back I got flashed by a red light camera because some wanker went threw a red light and its delayed so it flashed me when I took off as the lights turn green lol

  • all about catching criminals, not preventing them,

  • its nice to see where all our taxs and fines are going towards ay,fucking shit hole goverment

  • Check out my unmarked Aurion vids...

    video response or my profile

  • Your on the list you better be a good BOY!

  • ihaveairlockers

Tell that to the guys and gals who were hit with speeding fines fron faulty fixed speed cameras mounted and hidden on bridges above the motorway to the Gold Coast..maybe you've been to long in Norway

  • mate.... i think those camera's on bridges above motorway to the Gold Coast are for truck monitoring only... so don't worry abt them.

  • Does it take 1 week...1 mth....in the meantime while waiting to be fixed this faulty equipment doesn't stop working, it will continue to hand out speeding fines to unsuspecting motorists including do gooders regardless. Then you have to take them on in the courts..very costly. the police even try and defend the faulty equipment..give it a break mate. It does happen.

  • ihaveairlockers

And remember airlockers, these cars aren't only for the speedsters..they're there for enforcing traffic rules..the traffic squad...and regardless of the speed cameras and mobile radar patrols the're there for the safety of everyone. Uncovered loads, loads not tied down properly, crossing double lines, failing to indicate..the list goes on. The police are doing there job and there are good cops and bad cops..one day you may run into a disgruntled officer..it does happen..cheers

  • ihaveairlockers

The very legislators that make the laws and the same police officers who enforce these laws have themselves broken the road rules at some point in their driving history. These laws are mainly for revenue raising and that is a known fact mate....and just because you come from Norway don't think any of us Australians are dumb.. we do know how parliament works and yes...we do vote

  • ihaveairlockers

You're not the only one who went to school mate...legislators do pass the laws..everybody knows that....duh. Why do they insist that the right lane is for overtaking?, you cant tell me you haven't been over 100kph...101kph or 61kph it is speeding..or stopped in a no standing zone for a few seconds...give it a rest

  • The QLD Police use SO MANY different vehicles for Traffic and General Duties purposes.

Don't speed or drag race or drive like a dick and you won't get caught.

I want car crushing too... yey ! Can't wait to watch that. And speed camera's should be hidden, and there should be many more of them.

Don't speed, you won't get caught. Simple.

  • ihaveairlockers

You must be a do gooder, what will you say when there's a faulty speed camera and your speed is recorded above the speed limit you were driving at...would you want your car crushed then...i don't think so..its just not catching speedsters it also catches do gooders too...just a thought..but it does happen...simple

  • Yes ! I am a do gooder. I don't break the law and i never get caught.

As for speed camera's, they all have fail safe circuits in them AND they have self test circuits in them too. Besides this, they are regularly checked and calibrated.

So, the chance of a do gooder getting a traffic infringement notice by a defective camera is SO REMOTE that it does not bear thinking about !

And let me iterate... I am all for more car crushing, higher fines and more camera's.

    Don't speed. Simple ey ?

  • darn it thats just great even more chances to sneak up on people with radars and stuff sheesh they only need to book you and oops the spy equipment malfunctioned

  • Keystone Cops are at it again!!

  • Your stupid, "program" will not work Pokinfish! It's pretty simple, don't speed and you will not receive a fine!

  • Do you have any idea how stupid that is? You can, and will, get locked up for doing something like that! Not to mention how dangerous it is for the officers involved. If anyone comes to my house, they'll be charged, and so will you! And what's this about unfairly fined? People complain "Oh it was only 5ks over." Do they not hear themself? Speeding is illegal! That's a TIN! It's like people complaining about fines increasing comparing it to a Tax Hike! Fines aren't a mandatory tax. Don't Speed!

  • the laws in qld are made by the legislator mate...

Not the cops and not qld transport...

Did you go to school at all ?? Did you learn anything about how parliament works ??

Also, if you are over 18, do you vote ?

  • ihaveairlockers

Not so true...as for regularly checked ..yes..but they do malfunction..as it is a well knwon fact..you can't tell me that they're are not subject to faults and it does happen and you know that...and all i am saying it is possible for that to happen...regardless of what you say...there is a point and it does catch do gooders out and thats simple

  • 1) I am Australian, posted in norway.

    2) It's hard for a do-gooder to get a TIN from a malfunctioning camera because, there is dual timers and lines marked on the road which the picture is compared with.

Do you know how red light and speed camera's work ?

They take 2 pictures, and your distance and speed is calculated by comparing the vehicles speed and distance with the marked lines. In the case of red light camera's, the pictures taken compare to 2 stop lines AND must show another red light

  • ihaveairlockers

Get a life mate...you young 32yr old guys haven't sucked the milk if anybody doesn't understand the workings of speed detection equipment they shouldn't be driving. Know exactly how they work , but who cares, what can we do about it, its the system. And its got nothing to do with what i commented about, all i stated was they do fail and do gooders get lumbered by faulty equipment and i know they have fail safe but how long does it takes to fix (cont)

  • Yes u condoscending retard, I did go to school, but only learnt how life really works when I stepped into the real word. I'd luv to be as ignorant as u & believe that things are black & white. But unfortunately I've had actual life experience which proves otherwise. Open ur eyes. I feel sorry for u.

  • @pokinfish You are such a stupid wanker mate xD Honestly that is fucking laughable. Stupid wanker.

  • @pokinfish have you got the details of Adelaide police??

  • @pokinfish I can't believe how stupid your comment is. The answer to the "problem" is not to trespass on the private properties of others! If you really think that it's OK to speed, fight to get the law changed - but I doubt that it will change the opinions of the mother whose kid has just been hit by someone driving too fast.

  • Dirty coppers, bunch of fools thinking they do anything usefull fuck em

  • Ah, another happy person.

I you aren't happy with the police, give ESC or your local MP a call. I'm sure they'd be more tha happy to listen to your concerns.

  • woah, didn't realise they had the honda's haha. already got nusted by the liberty. but it tought me a lesson, i barely ever speed now (and that's being honest). it's just sad that i had to almost lose my license before i got to this stage. And to any lead footed person's out there i highly suggest looking up the nearest drag meet. def gives me and my car a needed release from the speed limits haha.

  • So glad the rest of the video didn't show - would of been some heated arguments.

  • I've met a few good coppers but most are fuck heads, the power and the gun must have gone to ur heads, don't pull me over for 10km over, my bike can do 250 i am being cautious!!!!

  • YOU are the reason we have traffic police. Idiots who think that because they can buy a fast car or fast bike, they can drive fast. If you want to go fast, do it on a racetrack. If you don't like the speed limit, DON'T DRIVE!

I wonder how some people get their licence in the first place...

  • I'm not pro speeding I'm criticizing the poor enforcement methods of QLD Police. Their priority appears not to STOP people speeding but to CATCH people speeding. There was a good article in the Australian a couple months ago, it said of the millions that had been raised from speed camera fines in Victoria, only 70% or so had been put back into roads and police traffic enforcement, it is an example of using the cameras as blatant revenue raising. If people stop speeding they get no money.

  • "If people stop speeding they get no money"

My point exactly. But people won't, so we have to dish out fines to "convince" them to slow down. It's our job. How is what we do that different from you at work? You have to do a job, so do we.

  • Do you realize the difference between catching someone speeding and stopping someone speeding? Because the QLD government doesn't. It's not the police forces fault but my point is a blue Mercedes Vito van hidden behind a half built estate won't STOP anyone speeding but it will CATCH them definitely and what is the governments priority? QLD and Australia as a whole is behind the world, Speed cameras are to save lives not make money.

  • Have you ever attended a fatal crash? Have you ever had to deliver a death message? I'm betting no, so there is a reason we book people for speeding. To reduce the road toll. Speed Kills. If writing 100 speeding tickets saves one life, it's worth it.

  • I agree with G. I don't think hidden speed cameras work. our road toll continues to climb . QLD government should put more high way patrol vehicles on the road. they act as a rolling speed limit to every vehicle near them. I spend a lot of time on the highway and see it every day. people doing 120kmh weaving in traffic, then they'll see a van up ahead, slow down, then put the foot down. People this stupid don't learn from a speeding ticket, they just end up clogging up our courts

  • And they do that because...

They don't want to get booked!

Proving speeding tickets are effective. If people think that every van parked on the side of the road is a camera, they slow down.

We don't have the numbers to put more coppers on the highway. We have 10,000 odd police in Queensland, and we need to cover a bit over 4,000,000 people. Things like thefts, assaults will still be there if we move more coppers to the highways, and there will be less GD police to look after those jobs.

  • I would love there to be more police, so that we could dedicate more police to traffic duties, but unfortunately, due to low pay, crappy conditions, nd the possibility we could get killed, not many people are joining up to the service these days. It's a thankless job, but someone has to do it.

  • I totally agree with you the police do a ripper job for nowhere near enough pay. I would join up myself if the pay was better (I would have to be a Snr Sgt Lvl 5 to earn what I do now). My point seems to have been a little bit missed by you though somewhat.... I am in no way dissing the police at all - my gripe is with the governments. They are taking the wrong approach to the road toll problem and it isn't doing anything to stop people dying on our roads.

  • I'm not saying speeding tickets don't work, I'm saying speed cameras don't work. I do roughly 1000km of highway driving a week with my job and see it every day. When there is a marked police vehicle driving on the highway, NO ONE speeds, EVERYONE pays more attention to what they are doing and drives safer. Driving safe doesn't just mean doing the speed limit, it means paying attention, being aware of what's going on around you, and common courtesy.

  • To me it seems totally contradictory that the government brags about catching thousands of speeding motorists, to me that is admitting that their policy is a failure. wouldn't it be better to simply PREVENT people from driving dangerously by putting more highly visible marked patrol cars on the road? It seems very basic to me. Sure it means less revenue, but would mean a lot less deaths on our roads. Period.

  • who needs a track when you can do 250 on the M1, jks the speed limits bullshit, evey 1 speeds at least 10km over, why can't we change the law to reflect society, and get sum cool autobahn thing goin

  • Ah, so you are the type of person who keeps me in the job. We don't have a 'cool autobahn thing goin' because we will have idiots who can't control there car at slow speeds, let alone 150+. Then, we will have an increase of road toll, and people will complain about "Why isn't something being done to stop this?"

But, if you want this to be the case, write to the government, and express your concerns. I'm sure the politicians be more than happy with looking at your issue.

  • Awesome!!! spot on!

  • Traffic enforcement in QLD is one of the worst in the world and I've lived in several countries (I still call Brisbane home though) and the revenue raising here appears to be the priority. Q-cars and those hidden, discreet, speed cameras all passively catch people speeding but don't ACTIVELY STOP people speeding. In Holland for example if there is a speed van there will be several warning signs before and the vans are bright fluro - you cant miss them and that actually stops people speeding.

  • It stops people speeding for 100m leading up and 100m after the camera. It's because we can't trust people to drive the speed limit that we have to issue fines. If everyone followed every road rule, police would no longer need to use speed cameras or Q cars.

By the way, here's a hint to get you off a ticket:

    DRIVE THE SPEED LIMIT!

    That'll help, I'm sure.

  • It's not going to stop people if its unmarked and hidden behind a tree. It will definitely catch them but not stop them. Example - the states school down the road from mine, when the motorcycle policeman hides his bike in the car park and stands behind a tree with his camera he is catching idiots speeding, fact is they still speed through the zone then are caught. Now if there was a visible presence like a sign saying "police officer enforcing speed zone" like overseas people WILL slow down.

  • But it does (umarked cars stopping people) A friend of mine (not in the job) owns a new commodore with a UHF radio installed (Which results in an aerial attached). NO ONE will speed around him, and most cars actually slow down, thinking it could be an unmarked car. Now, I'm sure he's not the only person in the country with a commodore and UHF aerial, so if people think that they are unmarked cars, they slow down. That's how unmarked cars work. Anywhere, Anytime (The slogan isn't just for RBTs)

  • Your right a visible aerial will disencourage drivers to speed. Q cars DO NOT have any visible insignia or equipment. Have a look at the meaning of "Q car" it come from "Q ship" and thats how qld police make their money. I'm with you mate, I'm a idiot in a fast falcon doing 200kph I'm just saying of the countries I've lived in the past 5 years (UK, Holland, Hungry, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Romania) we, QLD have the WORST enforcement laws for drivers, and no difference between motorists.

  • You can not debate with these people.

  • Revenant83, you should be obeying the traffic rules at ALL times. Just because you don't get a chance to see them doesn't mean you aren't breaking the law while speeding or whatever. If you get ticketed, its YOUR fault.

They're out there doing their job, lay off.

  • Kill a cop, and you'll get life.

  • yea man

  • Mate, don't break the law, you won't get a ticket. Simple as that.

  • I've never dealt with them? OK, then what have I been doing for the last 12 years? Spray comes out when offenders are violent. You've been sprayed? You've been violent towards police. Simple.

Pride, Integrety, Guts. That must be your good reason, as I can't see anything else.

I know that whatever I say here won't change peoples perception of police, but if only we could make people understand that at the end of the day, what we do needs to be done. Otherwise, there would be chaos.

  • I bet you were walking down the street minding your own business when that happened.

  • That always seems to be the case, doesn't it. We must all be big meanies.

  • These aren't new. They've been around for years.

  • No, undercover cars in general have been around for ages. They're just giving you an insight into the Q-Car.

  • Please refer to my previous comment. The govt likes the name Q-car because it sounds new and it makes it look like something new is being used to combat hooning. They've been around for years.

  • ok, i'm not getting into a debate. Just enjoy the video.

  • keith u stupid bastard, you will find the Q car is not just an unmarked police car. It is fitted with state of the art traffic policing capabilites. Enabling it to combat speeding, as it's main role is too spear head the traffic branch.

  • Starting off with personal insults, well done. But it is difficult being in a battle of wits unarmed....

As per my previous comment, these cars have been around for years. Technology is constantly changing as are the vehicles. This is not a new concept.

  • your intitial statement keith "These aren't new. They've been around for years".

If you were not suffering from downsyndrome you would have been able to comprehend the first point in the broadcast stating, "Queensland's first HIGH-TECH unmarked patrol cars".

What part of NEW HIGH-TECH cant you take into your empty skull??? How can NEW TECHNOLOGY be around for ages?

  • I'm glad someone understands.

  • If that was the case, every new model vehicle the police drove out of the depot would have the same slogan. The point I'm making is that this way of policing, including all sorts of technologies, has been around for years. I first drove a Q car in 2001. If you want to be a mindless twit and believe everything the media tells you, be my guest. It's people like you that keep me employed, thank you.

  • I agree with massivekeith. chainging technology means new technology for us out on the road. Granted, this is more high-tech than what we have had previously, but Q-cars have been on the roads for yonks. Joyce69er, are you in the job?

  • Keith, judging by your name you are obviously an ex-keith of the job who couldn't hack it and sooked off to mamma. I still don't know what you are crapping on about. Keep on whinging!!

  • Actually, I'm still in the job. I'm not suprised you don't understand what I'm talking about. At the end of the day, they're a good tool for the traffic branch guys to use but they are certainly not a new idea. The original concept had high-tech stuff back then too.

  • Well said Keith. Like I said above, change in technology means better stuff for police on the road. RADAR revolutionised policing, then LIDAR allowed us to more accurately detect speeders. You used to blow in a bag, now breathalysers analyse in your BrAC in seconds. MINDAs are gods gift to policing, as they allow us to know all about the car we stop before we even pull up behind it. We didn't have these years ago, but with changing technology, brings it for our use.

    continued...

  • ...from other post

Q cars have always had advanced technology, beyond that of the average car on the road. This is what allows police to more effectively do what we need to do.

  • It'd be nice if all our cars had MINDA systems instead of just STTF! It's imposible to get an inquiry done on a weekend.

  • He just doesn't get it.
