Djokovic has problem with respiration, while that nadi believes. My country is, conosco his family, and it is true that it has problem. When the weather is so hot and wet as in australia, this very difficult to play.
@Farmer2492 if your talking about steroids than it is because any tennis player that takes steroids would not be able to win a match because of the mental effects it has on someone... so no tennis player would take steroids
If Djokovic manages to recover , he'll beat Nadal .. but don't you guys think that Djokovic is NOT playing at the level he was in the most of 2011 ? He seemed tired midway something we haven't seen throughout 2011.... and he was panting after every 20 shot rally .. which was so unlike the Djokovic of 2011.. Any thoughts guys ?
@ConservativeNewMedia But 63 unforced errors is just not Djokovic... I don't remember him making so many errors in any of his matches in 2011..And yeah.. he is totally struggling physically!
@ConservativeNewMedia there are few other players that had problems, they say some kind of flower is to blame - pollen and stuff. Novak was asthmatic as a kid so it seems logical.
Dj / Andy match was the greatest in tennis history. High high level of play all night. Murray made me a fan. Not the crazy antics we have seen in the past...maybe Lendl got to him. Nadal has 2 days rest to Dj one. Can Novak recover to take out Nadal? Dj is the better player but in this situation either can win.
@j25ack Djokovic better take all the time he can to recover. That was a grueling match. Murray played EXTREMELY well; very impressed with him. He's getting closer to being ready to win a major.
@j25ack Wow that's a bit extreme. The US open final last year was a better match IMO. The 2008 Wimbledon final and 2009 Australian open final were better matches. This was a classic, but Djokovic was not at his best level for a significant amount of the match. And Murray gave up the 4th set without much fight. His level dropped way down, and that was not only because Djokovic stepped it up. It was mental. Nadal doesn't fade out of a set like that. If he goes down, he goes down fighting.
@j25ack I say that with respect to both players, who gave us a great spectacle. I knew in my heart that after Murray won the 3rd set he would drop off. Nole on his best form goes through in 3 or 4 sets. But that says a lot about how good a match player he has become. To beat Djokovich at this moment in time, you have to take advantage of when he is not playing at his highest level like in the 2nd and 3rd set.
@j25ack But Murray deserves respect because he played with a better temprement and was much more aggressive than he has been in the past. He now has to keep the positives and move forward. That 4th set was a flat liner, and when you are playing against the best, its hard to recover. To his credit, he almost pulled it off.
@bolder2009 Good points on Murray, Bolder. His 'lows' are getting less frequent and he is recovering faster from them. I do think that is the best version of Murray we have seen, and I think that he is nearly ready to win a major. He hung tough with the best in the world last night.
@ConservativeNewMedia I agree, but how do you explain the 4th set. After the effort it took to win the 3rd set, that was the time to dig in. He was much more aggressive in the 5th because it was do or die. But that 4th set is something that has to be addressed. I've seen that drop off happen to Federer when he plays Nadal. But with Fed, you always feel that he can force his way back into the game, because his serve is usually reliable. The serve was almost irrelevant in this match.
Regardless of the outcome Nadal is the true champion and superior player with his amassing career record. In fact, since 2005 Nadal has won Grand Slams and various Masters EVERY SINGLE YEAR! With or without injuries, personal issues, good or bad year... Nadal has never stopped being at the top. That is why he is the champ!! On the other hand Djokovic has had 2011 at a Nadal level, but has years when he has not hardly any won big title at all.
@ConservativeNewMedia If its the secret of his success then I can see why he is hiding it from the watching world. We all know about the egg, but this one is interesting. I noticed he didn't mention it when he was asked by Jim Courrier what got him through. He mentioned energy drink, water and banana, but not the thing he eat behind his towel.
Now Djokovich will go back into his egg and eat Oxygen to hopefully recover in time to face the greatest competitor in proffessional sports since Michael Jordan. It will be another physically grueling encounter. May the best Man win!
@ConservativeNewMedia I don't know if Nadal will beat him, but he will definitely push Djokovic better than Murray did in the 4th set. Nadal doesn't do meltdowns, especially in a grand slam final. You have to beat him by playing your best. But last Djokovic wasn't always at his best when he beat Nadal, but he had enough to still win when he wasn't at his highest level. The wimbledon final was Djokovic in 3rd gear but still enough to beat Rafa. So it will be interesting to see...
@ConservativeNewMedia The bigger question is what effect will it have on Nadal's season if he were to lose a third consecutive grand slam final to the same player. The mental factor has always been Nadal's greatest strength as a competitor.
An epic match with some of the best returns of serves you'll ever see. The third and 5th sets were the stand outs. Djokovic was playing at his best level in the first three sets, but something changed in his demeanor after he lost the 3rd set. There was a calmness in his demeanor and a clarity in his performance in the 4th set. That's where the match was really won. Murray didn't work Novak enough in the 4th set. But both played like men, like warriors, and deserve respect for their performance.
Djokovic has problem with respiration, while that nadi believes. My country is, conosco his family, and it is true that it has problem. When the weather is so hot and wet as in australia, this very difficult to play.
