Notch lied. He said it was a misunderstanding on his twitter but really he knew that everything he said was BS and is trying to not make himself look bad. Also have you watched the Yogscast video where they defend themselves? It seems legit and they were able to actually confess that they made some mistakes.

it works both ways, minecraft made yogscast famous cause before not many people knew them so in a way notch made yogscast big but at the same time yogscast made minecraft big cause alot of people watched yogscast minecraft video and wanted to get the game. So they pretty much gave each other good promotion

My opinion on the whole thing is that no one reLly knows exactly what happened. Notch posted something and people flipped out. Before judging everyone should at least hear both sides of whatever happened. Not making random videods intended to insult and/or cause more controversy. (I understand why this video was made but I feel that people are acting way out of proportion on the words of someone who was very tired after minecon.

@AusMinecratGriefers Okies understand that and it does make sense there's a lot of variables it doesn't (and couldn't) take into account, like how many people bought minecraft based on yogscast! I for one knew what it was before their vids, hence searching for minecraft on YouTube but it was watching them that helped make my decision to buy it, wasn't trolling

i've been playing minecraft for around a year before knowing what yogscast was, i randomly found a story seris called "shadow of israphel" and started watching their videos, apart from SOI the rest wasn't that outstanding (mod intros, adv maps etc). AND F-BOMBING IN FRONT OF KIDS is just completely inapropriate. i'm a common swearer, at least 1 fbomb per sentance but i won't even think of swearing in front of 10yearold kids or during english speeches. that's just retarded.

Try something like sales data from the time Yogscast started making video's or something.
I think before Dec 2010 Minecraft sold around 1.5 - 2 million copies and to this date sit at over 4 million. Not saying anything other than maybe take a look at this and the time it took to grow from Alpha to Dec 2010 and then to Nov 2011 and see if the growth was steady or took a leap at certain points. Neither for or against. Just saying.

@x10098 You do realise that the Yogscast channel gets 80 million views a month right? And has kept Mincraft at the front of you tube homepage for months. As a gaming channel in general they are 2nd only to Machinima.
Attribute it to what you want but i think a little more than 10,000 people bought Minecraft due to the impact Yogscast has.
