@GhaleonNow I don't think games as a rule have terrible writing, not stuff like Mass Effect or The Darkness. I consider it bad writing because the dialogue sounds like it was put together by someone who doesn't speak English as a first language (probably was, lol), otherwise they would have a better way of providing exposition for the plot than endlessly repeating whatever the other person just said.

LOL!!! I noticed these things every time I play an MGS. It's cool that someone made a video on it.

Actually, I got so accustomed to the repeated lines in a conversation with Snake that it became the heart of the Metal Gear dialogue system.

I figured out why Kojima did that too: the story can be long and without those repeated phrases, it would be difficult to flow with the storylines' finer details, details of which are important to the story's development.
