Capitalism is the wage slavery of immense humanity in a politically corrupt, manipulated MARKET SYSTEM OF ARTIFICIAL SCARCITY ,a tyrannical, destructive system to perpetuate poverty and exploitation in the interest of the ruling class. Capitalism from its genocide of the native Americans, mercantile plundering and enslavement of African natives to its Millitaristic rise of European Powers to World wars and Financial serfdom of the world has been a DISASTEROUS imposition for minority Rule
THat is EXACTLY what i would do with 100 billion. I would start a network full of people to transform our state of consciousness to a higher state of consciousness. To a state of consciousness free of the EGO.
I understand that everyone has a right to "make a living" but there is a huge difference in making a living and gluttony. People who are suppose to be sensitive to the needs of the soul must also understand that the poor are as worthy as the rich. Those of you who comment that they can go to the library or internet are insensitive fools or just plain naive. The real poor cannot read and do not have access to the things the rest of us have. It our (and his) obligation to see that they do.
Dear friend (Tangokiki) I responded to you directly. I do not wish to continue to put Dr. Chopra down publicly. It is not why I am here. I have said what I believe and to continue to debate it would be overkill. It is what it is. If people do not understand real poverty I suggest they spend time working with the homeless in one way or another. They don't bite and they provide us all with a chance to "grow" spiritually.I wish you only the best and I hope that Dr. Chopra continues to make millions
It's funny... this "network" reminds me a little bit of Plato's Republic, yet it's much better because it's voluntary... And if it were democratic (which you didn't mention) I think it would be even better. A great idea, Deepak, thanks for sharing. I'd really love to see it come about.
I am a huge fan of Dr. Chopra and own all his books and listen to him weekly on the radio. I do however have one problem that disturbs me greatly. I have written to him several times to ask if his courses are so expensive does his foundation make an allowance for the poor to participate? All letters have been ignored. This is very disappointing. It is fine to make money on his gift but he should spread the wealth by helping the poor. I don't believe he does this based on the lack of response.
I am not saying that he is not reaching me. I speak of the poor who could also benefit from his seminars and teachings. These are people who unlike you and I do not have computers, internet or Sirius radio. Jesus did not speak only to those who could afford to listen. He spoke to anyone who would listen.
@Italtopcop poor people can get Deepak's teachings just as you are...your original opinion states "I don't believe he does this based on the lack of response" is simply that...your opinion
I beg to differ. I began my comment by speaking about his seminars. They are clearly for the rich and only the rich. If he was driven by anything other than money he would allot some slots in these seminars for the poor. He does not. When asked about it neither he nor his staff reply. This tells me that the teaching and the behavior are not one in the same. I am not questioning his teaching I am simply pointing out that he, like everyone else is driven by greed and ego.
@Italtopcop you don't know this for FACT...so it is still your opinion...So now you are claiming "If he was driven by anything other than money he would allot some slots in these seminars for the poor." yet you say you are not questioning his teachings....and how can you make a blanket statement that "everyone else is driven by greed and ego"...how do you KNOW this? my point is simple you do not KNOW any of the above for FACT...you are making a judgment and forming your opinion
Kenetra, we all have opinions. But if you are stating that the poor are as welcome at Chopra's Seminars as people with means then show me. You cannot, because there is no policy in place to allow the poor to attend. This is fact...not opinion. If you understand Dr. Chopra's teachings you cannot justify this behavior. If you are going to justify the FACT that his seminars exclude the poor, than you, like so many others are just a blind follower.
What we are talking about here are two separate issues...business practices and humanitarian practices. No one can tell another how to run their business...it is their business. It always amazes me how others want to tell ppl how to spend and run their chosen profession. Chopra's seminars may be out of reach for some however he makes the same info readily available online via books, talks etc. for free no cost whatsoever.
If he was what you stated "driven by greed and ego" I do not believe that he would have any teachings available online except those that cost.
We "humans" sometimes look for the bad in others vs. looking at the good they are doing for the planet...and the small amount of good is never good enough and that my friend is "ego" not "spirit".
If we as a people are going to improve collective consciousness and share this world as "one" then we need to include everyone and not exclude others. That is all I am saying and if you can't understand that then so be it. Give me one, just one example where he has welcomed the poor to his seminars and I will stand corrected. When has he opened the doors to the homeless and taught them about the effect of consciousness. No, I didn't think you could.
My "ego" so badly wants to comment on your "blind follower" comment but it will serve no positive purpose :) So you feel "excluded" is that the real issue here? I do not know all of Chopra's business such as you so this goes back to my original comment...your statement that "he like everyone else is driven by greed and ego" is your opinion and such a sad one if this is your world view.
You still after all this are talking in circles. You are not addressing the real issue here. I don't think I can put it any more clearly. You are a black female. It surprises me that as a black person and a woman, that you would approve discrimination of any kind. Go figure? Clearly the poor do not have access to the Internet as you suggest they do. I don't begrudge anyone from making a living. But when they exclude another group of people for any reason I take offense to that. Call me crazy.
As a person whose life work is to inspire, elevate and empower people to live a prosperous and financially free lifestyle one would think you would be a bit more sympathetic to those who for whatever reason are not as well off as you.
When I spoke of blindly following I was referring to people who buy into anything without question or thinking for themselves. It was meant as an observation not a put down. I apologize if it came off that way.
He is reaching me, yes, but not the poor. That is my whole point. Why is that so difficult to understand? Could it be you don't want to understand that? Could it be that you would rather think of yourself and your own needs and ignore the needs of others? Very spiritual Breathinin. Shame on you.
Mr chopra, people like you give us joy and hope and help us to keep trying and dreaming! God bless you and hope to see 100 Billion used the way you are thinking of! Rainbows of love
u look tired ... the collective is reaching a point of paradoxical proportion ... the best of times, the worst of times ... may u get a much needed rest 4 all that U do~*
Dreamers are funny :) the best of them become gurus, others, followers. pretending to be smarter but actually totally out of reality.

This is something we should really do.
