Try and keep your top hand down when sculling - you should be able to anchor it on the hull. Also the top hand should be tucked to your shoulder when rolling - you should be able to hold a sponge between the arm and body.
yh there is a difference between rowing sculling and kayaking sculling. Kayakers can use two types of scull. One with an angled blade to move sideways and one with a flat blade to stop them tipping over when they are stuck in a hole etc.
