I am wondering if there is a lotion or something I can use on my hands when I perform. My fingers have difficulty gripping cards,,dry hands ,whatever..I need more grip more tackiness.
Thank you. I actually tried teaching myself the pressure fan, but it didn't quite get that sweet bending the cards look that this gets. I'ma be practicing this alot.
While trying to figure this out once, I got off task and learned the inverse fan and the one handed fan. Both were really easy! Then, when I tried to learn this again, I kept springing the cards across the room and making my hand hurt from the pressure. So, by accident, I managed to mix the inverse with the one handed fan to make a method that works with almost any quality of deck and is easy to do, once you get the hang of it! Anyway, guess I'll try the pressure fan again, in a month or two....
Nice! Thank you. *I am learning from "The Royal Road to Card Magic" by Hugard & Braue. Sometimes it is hard to figure it out from text descriptions and still illustrations. The pressure fan is one I couldn't figure out until I saw this video. I am reserving a deck of cards to destroy in order to learn it, but I am seeing how it is done now and will look at your thumb fan video.
@ryderkn hey can you shoot me a video of you doing the move from a couple of different angles? I might be able to help if I can see what your doing. If not hit me up on skype and we can chat there. My skype sn is Alan.Paoletti
@alanpaoletti Thanks for the offer, as we speak ive actually gotten to be able to get it to about 180 every so often, i just have to start back further and sorta kick out the bottom more towards my finger tips, and towards the part where my thumb used to run out of space i've gotten used to the feeling and can now compress it so my thumb rolls up the cards backs when i have access to a web cam ill be sure to add you on skype, i forget my screen name but i think it has ryder in it.Thanks greatly!
took me 3 mintues to watch the video 10 seconds to find some cards 30 seconds to try the move and 5 seconds to chuck the deck at the wall and /ragequit
i can kinda do it but i just cant get that circle...shape...like when I do it, the first part's good then it becomes like a spread :S any suggestions?
@kazora1001 Yeah, unfortunately I sometimes underrate how difficult some of the moves I teach really are, I've just been doing them for years and years and forget how difficult it was when I was learning. Best of luck with learning the moves, they're worth it. :)
Those are called studs. You can get then from walgreens drugstores if you live in the states. I did a review on them if you'd like to know more about them!
I can sort of do a pressure fan but at the end of the fan my thumb gets "stuck" behind my left thumb. and if i do it so that my thumb does not get stuck I end up with a sad looking quarter of a fan that doesn't even look that good. Do you have any tips for finishing the fan?
It certainly helps for the cards to have some spring left in them. If you're working with a limp deck (ba dum tiss!) you're not going to get very far.
You know, honestly I've never heard of those before. The cards do need to be a quality deck with good dynamic friction. Cards with absolutely no coating will not fan no matter what you do.
@alanpaoletti Wow thats really cool!! Id love to get into restaurant magic at some point in my life, theres an ihop not far at all from where I live, if I decide to apply someday, do you have any tips on getting the job or maintaining it? or some of your favorite tricks to do at restaurants? that would be great :D

@alanpaoletti This is the best fanning video on youtube; bar none.
It's also evident that you are, actually, out there performing.

@alanpaoletti does it depend on what type of cards you have because i have australian queen slipper cards

I would never pressure fan jerrys. It would ruin the deck and it's too expensive to even play with
