I bought the rake in MA. a couple years ago. There is a tag on it that says that it is a New Holland 56. The guy that i bought it from sandblasted it and painted it with some left over Ford blue that he had from a tractor that he had painted. I would like to have a newer 256 rake some day, one thing that I do like about my 56 rake is that it has solid tires, they never go flat. If you get some time i would like to see your hay equipment. I can't wait for summer.
You are correct about the color, the rake was sandblasted and painted with some left over Ford blue from another project. The rake is a New holland 56 rake.
I love these old tractors, there's something about running them that reminds me of a time when farming was not so much of a business but a way of life.

These are a very graceful looking tractor. I had a 30 at one time, sold it some years ago and now I have a 550 diesel.
