  • this sounds like the guy that did the WGTE ID slides back in the 90's when i was little

  • Did they have a nightlight service?

  • @daamits No.

  • Farewell to analog TV!! Love this sign-off from Indiana!

  • what? no final star spangeld banner? anyone remember when stations used to sign off nightly?

  • Goodbye From WTHR..

  • Gotta love that deep voice of Charlie Van Dyke!

  • This guy sounds like Charlie Van Dyke! Has that very deep distinct voice!

  • @ZackT618 It is Charlie Van Dyke

  • WCMH (ex-WLWC) has always been a strong number two in Columbus, as has WDTN (ex-WLWD) in Dayton. WLWT is the weakest station in Cincinnati and has been for a long time. WTHR (ex-WLWI) used to be the weakest station but is the strongest in its market. You have to hand it to the Wolfes - they stink at radio, but they know how to run TV stations.

  • Charlie Van Dyke announces the sign-off--he's one of the best announcers ever; great job, Charlie!

  • Note that they give nods at :33 and :37 to their predecessor, WLWI and Crosley/AVCO (WLWI was the weakest station in the Crosley chain before selling to the Columbus Dispatch).
