Sabian's are basically Zildjian's with personality. Ziljdian started it, but Sabian is actually still doing it. I own 2 HHX crashes and It was cool to see the Hand Hammering in part one.

most of sabians bells are raw bells..thats why their not lathed..it gives them a different sound.

It depends on the model, i.e. most AAs are fully lathed while many HHs and old Radias are not.

Riding an unlathed bell brings nice colors to the sound, for example alternating between china and the ride's bell with the shoulder of your drumstick (think Lamb of God)
