A special infected on his own seldom poses a larger threat, planned, sequential strikes with the infected is key if you want to deal damage, suppose the other team isn't a gang of utter morons then..

A -good- team player knows how to make the most out of every special infected. Again, none of the SI are any good by themselves.

They can all be killed quickly and easily unless the entire infected team does its job right.
