  • Damn he shifts slow...and he messed up going into 9th...only thing he did right was not use that pedal on the left

  • gotta love that turbo whine

  • thid video is of insterest to me i like to drive a truck when i turn 18 next year

  • sounds like a freightshaker

  • The driver is changing gears without using the clutch? Wow?

  • This is an International, prolly a 9400i 2007 ish, Cat twin turbo C-15 ACERT engine. 10 speed eaton.

  • Put your seatbelt on man! We want to watch you shift not bounce off the dash. Seatbelt bud!

  • bobtail!!

  • Fug a seat belt- and da clutch- company don't like ya anyway- you sur not on qualcom, they spy on ya.

  • Cool! That it was interesting... thanks for posting!

  • Driver, your pine tree stinkaroo is in the wrong place! Much better if you hang it from the dif lock.

  • On sent la force du moulin là...j'adore!

  • what about the clutch part ???

  • now thats how you drive ---kinda lloks like and international from what i see in this video

  • no clutch??

  • @3dule real drivers dont double clutch

  • I just got my CDL. When would you reccommend shifting to higher gear and lower gear in the truck(without using the clutch of course)?

Many thanks and you make it look easy.

  • @gunhawk22 when you say when, what do you mean, like RPM??

  • @speed150mph yes and would it help to know the shift pattern?

  • @gunhawk22 well its different between engines. like my dad had to petes one with a cummins one with a cat, the cummins he shifted up at 2000 and down shidted at 1500, the cat he has now he upshifts at 1600 and down at 1100 rpm. most shift patterns are the same, you go 1-4, click the plunger, and go the rest. splitting gears depends on what transmission. its good to know your shift pattern cuz ive seen some trannys that are weird.

  • @speed150mph many thanks. Hopefully now I can find a job that suits me.

  • @WAYNE8458 around his neck?

  • this sounds like a detroit am i right?

  • 2nd, women are coming into trucking and guys like you are going out.

There's no room in this job for guys like you who give the world( including women) a bad view of this industry-shippers and companies alike get tired of y'all and ignore

you while we pro truckers get the loads and good pay.

If you'd get out and talk to women and tell'em the danger of texting or whatever while driving, I bet they'd quit everywhere. I've done it-it works!

  • Hey, you with the dirty mouth! Calling women obscene names ain't gonna make you a better trucker much less a man.

You better remember two things about women in this day and age: 1st, they use the internet just like we do and I'll just bet some woman is reading this and deciding that it ain't worth being polite to some lint- brained wheel-holder who thinks he's the big bad wolf of trucking cause he has a big mouth and no idea how to use it.

  • @tenuke You dont need a clutch to drive an Semi unless pulling off or stoping, The gears glide into place and you really dont have to use one in a car either, i dont use it in both.

  • @powerstroker0622 still a good idea to use it though ps not hating

  • @powerstroker0622 in a CAR i highly disagree with you goodluck replacing your tranny

  • @DiogoDC123 lol the only thing you do in the car is the same, match the rpms up or u will mess the syncos up

  • no need for clutch ?-)

  • Waste of a Cigarette but other than that good video

  • It's called float shifting.

  • @javaleer yeah when you take off you need to use the clutch, after you get the wheels moving you just need to match your rpm and your road speed so that when you change gears both sides of your transmission are spinning at the same speed. @byras20 a lot of truckers do, some dont.. its a personal preference thing

  • Makes me want a cigarette

  • im ignorant in this subject, but do most truckers not use the clutch while shifting?

  • no clutch ?

  • lol automatic

  • There is another video that explains how he is shifting @ johnandkathyshow

    I like your video.

  • Watch the guy match the Rev and shift without touching the clutch! That's bad ass. Who cares he is not wearing seat belt.

  • No seat belt? Hmmm.

  • Hey guys! Kenworth here! So amazing to see all of your support of our products! We continue to make the best trucks for folks like you! The REAL truckers of America and Canada! Come check out our page, we've got a ton of videos on the way showcasing our trucks. Love to hear what you think!

  • when you take off in the beginning do you have to press the clutch down to shift gears. it looks like you just shift gears without using the clutch

  • Pete 379 with a Cummins N14 ?

  • Nice job. Quit smoking...

  • you know you are a pro when you shift while smokinnnn ;)

  • truck ?

  • he got no seat belt on thats bad but i dont kare

  • How come you're not using a clutch pedal?

  • looks like an international truck?

  • i dont get it =S u.u

  • WOW! WHERE THA SEAT BELT

  • @WAYNE8458 Its Easier to not wear one. my buddys truck rolled over and cought on fire. He was stuck in the seatbelt & burned to death. when the cops pulled him out he had his hands over his face. nothing but bones....

  • @WAYNE8458

air horn the dumb bitches in their little camrys texting

  • @WAYNE8458 wow learn to spell, its "WEAR" not "WHERE"

  • @WAYNE8458 he's in a giant ass truck! he's not goin' anywhere!

  • @WhiteRolled Ahhh so foolish.

  • he is a gangsta

  • Respond to this video... he is not even pressing the clutch

  • Anyone else see the seatbelt? lol :DD

  • Comment removed

  • When driving a Big rig do you have to put the clutch in every time you switch gears like in a car.

  • @jake69715 You do not, Big Rigs do not have synchronized transmissions therefor you can shift without having to use the clutch, but in order for you to not grind you must match the engine speed correctly in order for the gear to pop out of place and into the next gear smoothly. to most truckers it is called Floating gears

  • I skip shift on my car and bike too sometime I go 1-3-5, sometimes 2-4-6.

  • wreckless ass hole... smoking kills you know!

  • can someone tell me maybe im wrong but did he go from 4 low to 6 high? is so can you skip a gear without messing up your trans. i know he did but ive never shifted like that before

  • @halfordlova13 You can put the transmission into any gear that will match the road speed. You can skip any gear you want if you truck can handle it for the road you're on. Flat ground and empty, you can easily go a gear-and-a-half or two-gears up. I generally still do a gear at a time out of habit. Downhill starts, I'll double-up without second thought.

  • @halfordlova13 No, he doesn't skip any gears in this video. You probably mean the shift from 5 to 6. Remember, a 15 speed is basically a 10 speed plus 5 'low' gears, not used in the video.

  • perfict shiting

  • Maybe because i'm Canadian, but I can help myself noticing that the seatbelt is not buckle and there is no audible warning reminding the driver.

  • I have wrenched I have driven ,loaded ,busted tire's, detailed .The past 7 yrs driving a dump truck 38 ft end dump.3 yrs in a 2000 Pete c 15 cat 8 LL trans .I never used a clutch except to start and stop3yrs with out a clutch adjust .The oil honey brown 27 years and the only trans problem I have had is when I took over a truck that had a double clutcher that didnt rest his leg on the ground when he wasnt accelerating

  • SWEET! IS DAT A KENWORTH.. LOOKS LIKE THE INERIOR OF A 2006 ONE I USE TO DRIVE SPANKING NEW BACK AT MY OL' JOB! I WAS GETTIN' OFF! HAHAH! GOOD VID, DUDE!

  • Is this a 10 speed? I think I counted the gear shifts right but Im not sure

  • @Vorash2002 15. But only using 10.

  • @solytwd Hey buddy..... So how do I use the other 5 gears? :D

  • ur not using clutch?

  • @dionson23 you rarely use a clutch in a rig unless you're stopping or taking off. You can do it in any vehicle, really. I do it in my pickup. It's all about matching revs.

  • @chupanibre999 you shouldnt clutchless shift with a syncronized tranny. It screws up the syncros

  • @everysubjectman Only if you grind the shit out of your gears. If you can do it well, it's actually better on your tranny, because the syncros don't have to work as hard, thus they last longer. Also, it saves your clutch.

  • @chupanibre999 no. even if you don't grind it still hurts the syncros because they have to slow down the engine basically which puts a lot of strain on them. Its not better on the tranny than just pushing the clutch in because of the reason above unless you perfically rev-match which most people don't. and a good clutch driven properly will last a long time. and its cheaper and easier to replace the clutch than to tear the tranny apart and replace the syncros

  • You are obviously a retard, for a couple of reasons:

    1. You must have missed the part where I said "it's all about matching revs"

    2. When you use a clutch to shift gears, the syncros still slow the engine to match the revs with the gearbox. By rev matching, you're doing the work for them. And if the revs are matched, there's no need for a clutch.

Now, until you know exactly what you're talking about, fuck off.

  • @chupanibre999 no you dont have any idea how a manual works. When you push the clutch in it disconects the engine from the transmission so if you use the clutch to shift the syncros dont have to slow the engine down because the engine isnt even driving the tranny if the clutch is pushed in. the clutch is there for a reason. If there was no need for it we would take it out of cars and trucks. Let the floating to the big trucks and racing dogboxes. Not your syncronized pickup

  • @everysubjectman You are such a goddamned dumbass. IF YOU MATCH YOUR ENGINE RPMS TO THE SPEED OF THE GEARBOX, THE SYNCROS WON'T BE USED.

You have no idea what you're really talking about, just a basic concept, and it's really obvious. So, please.

    Shut.

    The.

    Fuck.

    Up.

  • @chupanibre999 Yeah only if you do it 100% rite. even if you rev-match and you dont hear it grind you could still be destroying your syncros. The reason its ok in a truck like in the video is because an eaton fuller is unsyncronized and the dogs just mesh without syncronizing speeds. so unless you grind or really force the gear your ok. And hes a basic concept for you: just push the clutch in. Its easier than rev-mating and all that shit. i cant tell you how to drive your viehcles tho

  • @chupanibre999 You're 100% wrong about synchronized transmissions. Try to argue your point with logic instead of using your foul-mouth language. Not using your clutch on a synchronized transmission will damage the syncros.

  • what about his left foot?dont use?

  • granny shifting...not double clutching like ya should...

  • @MrYoungmaze32 and theres nothing wrong with clutchless shifting double clutching isnt the should way. its all about perfect syncronization on a syncroniztionless machine.

  • @Teejoker1 but wont that mess your transmission up?

  • @MrYoungmaze32 only if you do it wrong. its a tricky thing to get down, but it goes with the perfect syncronization thing. like connecting your senses to the mechanics of the truck. if its done right there is no grinding of gears, or wear and tear on the clutch brake.

  • @Teejoker1 oh alrite im going to try it then.

  • Detroit Dielsel? Gears: 1 > 3 > 5 > ?

  • good truck =)

  • international , with what sounds like a detroit series 60

  • International?

  • thanks for this video

  • nice vid

but im a little confused. sry im from germany.

how can you change the gears without using your clutch????? wtf?

in cars and tractors here you always have to press the clutch?!!

  • @Playa1sweet Hi. because trucks clutch go s in and cars clutch go out.

second thing with trucks your RPM should be about 2000 to shift

  • @SAYHZAK1 um no. rule of thumb is 1700. all trucks are different though. usually shift with lower rpms. 2000 can over rev the motor causing damage to that and rear end.

  • @Playa1sweet

    They have no synchronizer gears

  • Great stuff,I had to drive my old holden like this,After the clutch cable snapped, many years ago,red traffic lights suck.

  • Nice, good shifting partner.

  • ok, he lost me afta the sixth shift. how many gears does the truck have??????

  • @Nkwabi 10 gears.. 5 lowside... 5 highside

  • I notice there no "left foot movement" with clutch, only but once. Do you only depressed the clutch when putting it in first gear?

  • @easmith1983

If u try this with a motorbike,

Guess how to begin rolling without clutch? Or stopping?!

  • @easmith1983

For this technique, yes. It is called "floating the gears." That is just a fancy term for shifting without the clutch.

To do it, you simply match your rpm (You'll need to learn to do it by sound) to the gear and you "feel the groove" and drop it into gear.

You raise or lower the rpm using the accelerator according to where you need to match the road speed and rpm's.

This takes some time and grinding to learn but will save you from having one "Schwartzenegger" leg.

  • @curlyfrompgh Thanks! for that explanation!

  • @easmith1983

If you watch closely, you'll see how he gets to the top of one gear and accelerate a bit higher. This allows him a second to pull the gear out as the rpms drop.

Then as the rpms fall, you simply slip it into the next gear when the rpms match the low end of the gear.

With EVERY truck the timing is different due to specs. Even if you are skilled in this technique , when you switch trucks you'll have to learn that truck's timing. It just takes a couple days though.

  • @curlyfrompgh

I drive like this in my Honda Prelude. My Honda Accord took some time to learn.

So I would have to agree. Its all in the timing on each car. Or in this case 18 wheeler.

  • 10 vitesse loll mets po sa sur youtube man !!!!

  • 10 speed?

  • nice turbo whistle...

  • In these new truck models is not necesary to use the clucht? sorry for bad spelling.

  • and the clutch? haha

  • this gear is Fuller 13 speed?

  • This guy's a champ

  • my uncle doesnt use the seatbelts and smokes while driving too

  • KOO MAN I STILL USED THE CLUTCH I WANNA LEARN HOW TO SHIFT WIT OUT USING CLUTCH

  • comooooooon people who are askin for somkin and seat pelt or whatever, don't be sarcastic,,,,,,, this ved is cool ,,,,,, yao driver stay up :))

  • WTF! how you not using the clucth

  • WOW !!! very gd :)

  • 10 SPEED! :D

  • Up shift at 2,200 and down shift at 1,500? Good shifting there man.

  • dude your not fucking pressing the clutch but nice vid and my dad smokes while driving the towtruck

  • @venomrocks101 Its "flat shifting"... With a little practice its not to hard. This guy has the skills.

  • Why worry about a seatbelt in a rig that big? The only things you have to worry about that can stop you fast enough to send you flying into something is another truck or a freight train. You can't expect to go flying through the windshield if you hit a fuckin "5 star crash rating" Smart-Car, can you?

  • @CowsXonXcrack or STupid car lol

  • why he doesn´t use the clutch?

  • is that a short shifter?

  • Takes a big dick country boy to drive truck like that! Props to you for the Cigarette, and no seatbelt... You're my Hero...lol

  • u dont need the clutch?

  • wait, is putting the hi range button immidietly after you go into 5th gear correct because my dad does it when he is in neutral going from 5th to 6th gear

  • @maggotsretards range button should be flipped before shifter is moved. Flipping the range in neutral is hard on the sync in the back box. hope this helps.

  • Psychopathe24 ....

    Fuck off you Belgium homo.

  • Fantastic driving !! Almost identical to way that I've been learning. I really appreciate your time. The smoking and seatbelt thing is your business so as far as I'm concerned, those who disagree with it can eat a dick!!

  • The clutch is there for a reason dickhead

  • @234stu Yeah, on non diesel cars, with a diesel if your up around 15 grand in the rpm's you don't need the clutch pedal!

  • @DanglinDanger91 no. the reason you dont need to clutch wile shifting on a big rig is because the trannys unsyncronized. It has nothing to do with the engine. dumbass

  • i smoke and drive truck too. fuck off solytwd

  • @2AmigosMac I'm confused. First you favorite my video, then you tell me to fuck off. Well fuck you too.

  • @solytwd

meant to say that to someone else. lol.

  • @2AmigosMac OK. Not a problem.

  • @solytwd

U say something, pal yeah correct: fuck U two! XD

  • @2AmigosMac go fuck a duck dick face

  • @2AmigosMac YOU'RE A RETARD MAN - PERIOD!!!

  • what a sound! here in brazil the trucks sound like toys lol

  • Aw hell. Leave the guy alone about his driving. So what if he dont have a seatbelt. I'm sure half of you ass holes text and drive.. And so what if he smokes. Good vid though

  • you d'ont have Clutch, it's not real manual

  • @Psychopathe24 Actually you'll notice that when he first pulls out, he uses the clutch. The gears are easy enough to shift without the clutch once you get a few thousand miles, and the feel of the truck it's not terribly difficult. Saves wear and tear on your clutch leg :-p Ask most any trucker that's been on the road for a few months, and they'll tell you they don't use the clutch, generally.

  • @Atlquotl

    All European driver,use clutch.

    just american = lazy

  • @Psychopathe24 can't say it better myself!

  • super ten!!!

  • You are not using the clutch. Why?

  • Guys, shut the hell up he's a trucker, he transports goods like ur guys' xbox 360's, he can do whatever he wants

  • Dude they made seat belts for a reason

  • this truck looks a lot nicer than a 93 international

  • I defenitly prefer an European truck. ;)

  • Hey, Boss, what kind of truck are you driving? It's kinda hard to tell. I drove FLs mostly for CRE, so I'm not too wise in the area of truck interiors.

  • @capnsean520 93 International

  • That cigarette looks good.

  • No Seat belt teribble

  • @Gunny69able I smoke and drink too.

  • @solytwd

Who dont fuck about Ur drinking? Every man drink here cause everyones have to drink something to live :D If contains a little alcohol it wont makes bad for U.

And just the shithead yenks thinking this smoking attitude its a fuckin anti-Christian act, but its nothing special. Frenches smoking almost all.

  • @solytwd Ima cop

  • @Gunny69able

Who the fuck care about the fuckin seatbelt?! Maybe that aint a fuckin racecar to U in a danger to fly through the windbraker due a fuckin great braking, or due this fantastic acceleration.

Here europe no one jerk use the damned seatbelt in any truck, bus, lorry etc. cause its absolutely unneccessary.

No every puddinghead so blue flunk like U fuckin yenks. Probably europeans more hard balled than U guys...

  • @gergely007 In the UK, wearing a seatbelt in any moving vehicle is a legal requirement.

  • @gergely007 Learn to spell the 1 dollar words before you go using 5 dollar words.

  • @mannwhosoldtheworld

Witch part U dont understand of my yupping, buddy?

  • you can do this at autos

  • smoking leads to impotentce!

  • @1697P If the Man wants to smoke, let him smoke.

  • @1697P Not yet.

  • Kenworth?

  • @CowsXonXcrack no mack just kiddin international

  • is it much easier to shift without the clutch rather than double clutching?

  • what kind of truck is that? looks like the same model as what my dad used to drive
