@starranise considering the coal plant will compromise the environment, perhaps the project will have to be relocated to somewhere else, to protect our precious natural heritage. Solving the energy issues is a must for all mankind, thus building new power plants are necessary. In my opinion, we should look into Nuclear energy to replace the coal and diesel power plant. Many may say it is lagi stupid and dangerous, but if you really know about nuclear energy, you will know its benefits!
@johnkenny888 that would be hypocritical. It's not "out of sight, out of mind." We can't just sweep this under the rug. It's not just about Sabah, the whole world is jeopardised by coal plants contributing to global warming.
In my opinion, if we cannot harness energy that is already there, why mine for coal or opt for nuclear, when TNB and the government are not showing concern over the public's wellbeing or the environment? Besides, studies say that nuclear's more expensive than solar. So how?
@starranise sorry for the double..... post. There are many countries that powered by Nuclear energy but solar energy?????? Nuclear energy development is mature and clean. Using solar energy need many solar panel to be built on big piece of flat land with many sunlight to create the same amount energy ..... that doesnt mean of opening the area and deforestation>>>>> bad for environment?? Nuclear is good, real good. All this while, human benefited from nuclear technology but took it for granted.
@johnkenny888 I am not as critical of nuclear energy as I am having it supplied by people who would lie, use short cuts and would not consider the health and safety of its consumers and the environment.
Yes, we want power but not if it means a slow and painful suicide.

@starranise It is very ignorant to comment nuclear technology is bad for mankind and environment. We always link it to nuclear bomb and radiation disaster. Have you done any background checks on the benefits of nuclear technology on mankind? Agriculture, Energy, Medicine, Imaging benefits from nuclear technology knowledge. Many European country that concerns of the environment opted nuclear for power for decades. Reason = Clean, Efficient and definitely environmental friendly.
@johnkenny888 Dood, I'm not knocking nuclear energy. I'm saying that nuclear energy in the wrong hands is dangerous. Sabah's electrical facilities are working at a 60% capacity. Lahad Datu Energy insists that coal plant refuse helps fish and prawns to breed better. Najib tells the UN he wants to reduce carbon emissions then come back and tell us to build a coal plant. Go on TNB's website and check their CSR. It's pathetic. I don't trust irresponsible people to build a nuclear plant.
THE TROUBLE with you guys is that 1. Only a handful of you even in this video.
2. You anti coal are minorities, just what the fukk are the rest of Malaysians think?
You may be right about the environment bit, but why the hell dont you ask all Malaysians to USE LESS electricity or better still stop using electricity?
3. Why silent on those logging, illegal or legal?
4. Every human activity is a threat to environment, even building a house, roads, schools, trees and grasses chopped??
Yeah yeah yeah, ONLY coal is guilty, not the diesel, not the oil palm, not logging, not the skyscrapers, no one protest when china and US spew more coal burning fumes from their factories etc. ONLY the small baby coal station is condemned, nobody bising bising at semenanjung or sarawak, ONLY at Sabah. Tiada share itu bisness kah?
Bila karan mati, bising juga. Please go and set up your own solar, biomass, wind turbine, you are all welcome, DONT JUST TALK, PLEASE DO !!!!
@Sabahvideo It sounds like you're very learned on the effects that humans have on the environment. I suggest you channel your knowledge and energy more efficiently. Maybe no one bising in Semenanjung and Sarawak, but does that make it okay? We're fighting for sustainable energy resources. It's not just talk. There are people working very hard to power Sabah without killing everything that Sabah stands for.
@starranise -- Well, It does make it okay very much, thank you, because I know the whole story better than most of you so called environmentalist !!
If there is insufficient power to distribute to every demand, we get shortages and hence blackout, everyone complaints. We use solar, or biomass, everyone complaints if the tariff will be something like 2RM per unit while present subsidised diesel tariff is 34 cents.
We campaign for energy efficiency, no one bothers. so what do you suggest?
Then we build hydro, everyone protest, no dams, not even little weirs. But when existing hydro power breaks down because the water is so muddy due logging, no one protest on the logging. Go and see what the Padas river is like. Please take all your members and check out with your own eyes.
So when we ask the experts what source of power they want, they yell, solar, biomass, wind, tidal.. but buut buuuuuut, we need subsidy they say. Who the fukk will pay for the subsidy please?
Then one of the green surf idiot asked a stupid question, IF govt willing to subsidised diesel, why dont they subsidised solar? Here a stupid answer for stupid question
1. subsidise diesel is around 30 to 50 cts per unit at present. If use solar govt will have to subsidise like RM1.70 per unit. So why dont you green surf go tell the BN govt to subsidise that amount?
2. if dont believe, go build whatever power station and see how much you can sell your energy to the people
@Sabahvideo I suggest that we stop trying. That we allow Sabah's history with letting industries destroy its environment and people continue. I suggest that we build the coal plant and let our endangered animals be put to the risk of poaching. I suggest that we forget that fish stocks will diminish by 2050 and that the coal plant diminish marine species further so we can starve. I suggest that we encourage unsustainable coal mining in Kalimantan and risk destroying precious coral reef.
@Sabahvideo For the first time in a long time, Sabahans are not just having their voices heard, they're making noise. Between the PTI problems, the corruption, poverty, lack of education and basic facilities, not getting the best out of our resources and royalties... now we're starting somewhere. Here.
"You say you want a revolution, well you know, we all want to change the world. You tell me that it's evolution... but when you talk about destruction, don't you know that you can count me out."
Mr Starringnized, reverse psychology dont work on me if u wanna a debate.
1. I am against PTI all the way but thats not the fukkng issue here.
2. Keeping quiet about logging or the greedy corrupted industries and oil palm owners who are destroying the environment ARE YOUR SUGGESTIONS, not mine. however stupid that is.
All I am saying is NON in this green surf of yours got the guts to point their fingers at the real culprits, they only condemned the scapegoats vis SESB which will not help.
@Sabahvideo I suggest that we keep quiet like we always have about the logging in Padas or the sand mining in Kinabatangan. I suggest we keep industries powered and rich and the poor Sabahans, poor and hungry by forcing them to work on oil palm plantations and construction. I suggest we bring in more foreign investors to build more empty, power consuming shopping malls to sell things to tourists that our locals can't afford.
@Sabahvideo Dude, chill lah. This is a specified movement and video.
I try to use as little electricity and water as I can. I take public transport and plan to continue to do so when I commute to work even after I get a car.
I do protest illegal logging and I think oil drilling in Sabah is filthy and needs to be more disciplined when it comes to cleaning up their mess. I believe in sustainably and have reduced by consumption of tuna and salmon.
Sometimes you talk, sometimes you lead by example.
What do you suggest then?
