Umbukole, it's only your view :) Go RedSea and Kassala states. U'll see the Beja tribes are more successful than shaygiya with Tanboor (Rababba). Anyway i love too Shaygiya songs.

Of course it's diffrent when you compare between Shaegiya and Beja.But you have to know that shaegiya people are the result centuries of mixture of Arabs,Nubians and Bejas peoples. So Tanboor firstly used by Nubians and Bejas, the original inhabitants of Northern sudan even during pharaos periode which tanboor were used too.

anyway you are probably right about the tambour part. it is used in many parts of Sudan in the north and other parts, in the east by the beja and by the Nuba in the west. it is also used in Eritrea and Ethiopia. it doesn't need a computer programmer to discover that :)

The Tanboor or Rababba is most used by all Al-Beja tribes from Eritrea(Beni-Amer,Hadareeb,Nar­a), Sudan (Hadandawa,Halangi,Bisharin,Am­arar,Ashraf,Artega) to Egypt(Ababda and Bisharin).
