  • Very good.

  • 1:12

I love that lick so much. Trey anastasio uses it... a lot.

sick playing. did you have the compressor on a lot in this video?

  • Thanks! Compressor was added at the end, where you can see there is more drive and punch.

  • nice job good sound

  • 100% awesome!

  • nice ;)

  • Great job!

  • mostro...........sei bravissimo

  • nice.. where did you get the backing sound?? very nice and so real.

  • I have created it looping a peace of blues song.

  • cool playin!

  • Awsome, awsome job!!!Could have done with out some of the finger taping licks but still verry verry cool!!!

  • @wilziac i don't know if they are better but they play better for me. I mean the singlecut looks cool and bad but it's so worse on playability

  • Very good ! :D

  • that was really good! btw what color is it? it looks like its brown, i've been looking for one myself...rock on!

  • You nailed it to the bone man :-D .

    I enjoyed that...

    Great playing.

  • what scale(s) are you using? How do you get that much room to play up and down the neck. Is it because you are using multiple positions of the same scale?

I am new to soloing, and the way you solo in this video is just my style. So good. I appreciate any tips you have too.

    Cheers

  • I played this solo using pentatonic scales and some pentatonic/modes variations, just it. To get more skills in to the neck, you should try to make improvisations using the all neck scale, identifying some nice patterns depending of neck region and scale.

  • Thak you very much for your advice. You are truly talented.

  • GROOVY MAN

  • nice playing! Work on your lighting....I was waiting for your kidnapper's to hear you playing and come bursting in the room and tie you up again:)

  • hahahahaha

  • WTF english?... haha

  • Finally found an SG video where someone doesn't wack on the overdrive as loud as possible and generate white noise!

    Very good vid.,

  • great tone dude

  • muito bom cara =)

  • klingt saugut, tonleitern richtig.

  • that was totally righteous man!

did you just use the blues scale or what?

  • i woudnt buy a sg with wammy.

  • Yeah me too i'd rather buy a Fender Stratacoaster just to make it easy :P

  • tha is my next guitar , do u know if u can get a bigsby wammy bar on that

  • The SG Angus Young model comes with wammy bar. You can try it.

  • sick jam man im usin that bass line if you aint mind ;)

  • At first I couldn't believe that this was improv. Man your good at guitar

  • Very nice man.

  • yeah man!!!!!!!!! you a good guitar player

  • Soooo GOOD !

  • the best

  • ooooooooooo te pasas loco... re bien exelente

  • you are crazy with this guitar :0

  • Thats was freaking great! :D Cheers man!

  • cool... I'm happy to see what ts9 can do and I'm even happier when I think I've already ordered it to my music shop... great tone

  • Thanks! On this sound, I basically used my tube amplifier (Meteoro Cristalino - brazilian brand), on the overdrive channel pumped by ibanez TS9.

  • awesome playing and tone. question: what strings do you use?

  • Thanks! I am using Daddario 0.10 strings (EXL110 - Regular Light).

  • i agree 100%

  • nice. how did you learn to play that.

  • When I bought this SG, I went to the shop with a LesPaul in mind. But after play a lot of LesPauls models, I was curious to play SG´s. I played one SG Standard for 2 minutes and it was enough to decide that it what I was looking for. For me, SG has some advantages over LP, like easy access to higher notes on the neck, good balance between sustain and weight, and his sound is more flexible and equilibrated than LP.The point is not money, but I would like to remember that SG is shipper than LP.

  • hi! great playing... what do you mean by "shipper"? Thanks for explaining, I'm not english nor I can find the "ship" word on my vocabulary with the particular meaning in this context. Thanks a lot for clarifying!

  • cheaper*

  • Whats that song?Which artist???PLz tell me someone

  • I built this backing track, looping the intro of "Rock me Baby", from Blue Jeans. Blue Jeans is a Brasilian Blues band.

  • very nice tone. wow you should join a record.

  • very good blues man.

  • Is it really an improvisation? woh!!

    excelent

  • ME-50 was placed in front of the amp.

  • that backtrack is awesome!!! does anyone know where its from??? oh and amazing playing

  • Awesome tone ... But don't do tapping :D

  • I have been playing guitar for 17 years.

  • how long u bin playin?

  • awesome playing, and really good backing track. What kind of pickups do have in that?

  • Thanks! This is a Gibson SG Standard with stock pickups! Nothing special, just keep with the original Gibson tones...

  • Who is your master? I guess it,s Eric Clapton! Very nice piece of music, and one of the longest guitar solo I,ve ever heard, too! I hope your band is as good as you are ;-)

  • Thanks! I had some good teachers also, but Eric is my main influence.

  • the ibanez semihollow was better

  • make an album...i'd buy it

  • Thank you! I am thinking about that... maybe in a near feature...

  • Thank you!

  • so good... something reminds me clapton ^^

  • smooth.

    gotta teach me that. hah.

    great playing!

  • Very good!

  • Hi. I have me-50 only for digital efects like delay and chorus. The root of my tone comes from a tube amplifier drive channel and TS9.

  • incredible!!!awsome!!

  • The rhythm kind of reminds me of "New Orleans Is Sinking" by the Hip.

  • haha...that was cool...nice playing and nice guitar.

  • you should turn up the guitar you can't hear it very good but from what you can hear it sounds great very nice

  • Admire your playin' some goooood stuff there. Nice backin' track, perfect for jammin'.

  • throwin down!!!!! good shit :)

  • nice

  • that was so sweet man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I want to see a blues jam like this with your prs!! that would be interesting, you rock man.

  • very cool YoU RoCk!!!

  • Nice job man. I love SGs so much. If I wasn't so into drumming, that's the kinda guitar I'd pick up after getting some starter one.

  • Sweet jam. The backing track is really good too. Where can we get this track?

It's free I hope! Was that in the key of E?

  • TROP FORT

    J' ADORE TON STYLE

    je travaille dans le genre

  • Very nice!! I play a SG-61. I'd like to get a copy of your backing track if possible. PM me. -Mike

  • that was prety sweet man one question, did you switch out the pickups or did you just leav in the stock??

  • I just keep the original Gibson pickups. They are very good.

  • How long hve you been playing?

  • I started with classical acustic guitar with 13 years old. I got my first eletric guitar with 15 years old. Now I have 29 :)

  • 29 guitars or you're now 29 years old? Also, what video camera for recording guitar videos would you recommend?

  • Sorry, 29 years old. I use a regular web cam, nothing special. But for audio interface, I use M-Audio delta 66 or M-Audio Jamlab.

  • thx

  • Man watching you play makes me wanna buy an SG, but then I know if I do I'll fall in the endless cycle of can't-get-the-sound-I-want-wtf-/cry.......

  • Thanks for the reply, I agree totally.

  • Not sure what a single coil sounds like compared to this, is that more like a fender sound? Because if so I don't care, the SG rocks!!

  • Dude watching you jam out on that thing gets me goin before class everyday, you are the shit!! Would you recommend the SG as a versatile guitar for different genre's?

  • I can use my SG to play almost everything. You can not expect to get a single coil sound from an SG, but this is an old school guitar and for my taste it is very versatile.

  • Which of your guitars is ur fav.? also what vid camera woul u recommend fo recording guitar vids?

  • fuck!!!

  • haha i rarely ever comment on here but this is so nicely played. keep up the good work. got that blues nailed (Y)

  • Dude you rock.

  • yeahh!!!

i like it, that solo was very nice, i like how you use taping.....

    awesome.

  • yeah dude. i never pictured SG played on blues. awesome job there man.

  • ~Man I keep coming back to this groove...love the way you play that SG...~~

  • yes, nice, its rare to see someone on youtube who truly deserves a gibson sg, but you sir, deserve that guitar :)

  • ~Nice groove...and sound...is that the TS-9 your using..~~

  • Yes, I usually pump the drive channel with TS9, to get more punch and nice middle frequencies.

  • incredible!!!!!!!

hey man can you hook me up with the backing track you used for this?

  • awesome.... great timing. excellent tone...am jealous... 5/5

  • great job you have demonstrated that you don't have to play fast to sound good!

  • Man that was AWESOME! You're great guitar player. I agree with D4N747 about the switching of pickups. It made very nice tone this way. You also got a very nice guitar. I want to buy the same in heritage cherry. Keep goin'

  • Wow, you're great. I love your style of switching the pickups to make it sound like a double-lead situation.

    Awesome!

  • Good playing, nice sound !

  • nice playing man!

  • WOOO! Nice, thats real good, i rlly fit ur style

  • mando bem..

  • Very nice groove dude. Nice playing and beautiful tone too. What amp and pedal are you using?

    Anyways, keep it up.

  • Thanks Steve! I own a Meteoro Cristalino (Brasilian amplifier - google by amplificadoresmeteoro)It is all tube amp.The clean channel is very nice as fenders, and the drive channel work as a JCM800, with a little bit more middles. Pedals used: compressor (Boss cs30) and a TS9. I used the drive channel of Cristalino and on the heavy part I tuned on the TS9.

  • That was awsome!! What is the backing track you are using?

  • Thanks paulgill31! In fact I used a music intro (Rock Me - Blue Jeans). I cut this intro and makeup it to work as a loop. You can also do that, you only need software to edit a music peace and make it sounds as a loop sequence.

  • Thanks, ill try that. Keep rockin!!

  • nice!

  • Nice work man!
