So because the guy is'nt built like a IFBB competiter he does'nt know what he's talking about?LoL,I guess Joe Weider should have thrown in the towel a long time ago then huh?Even though he is considered the "father"of competitive bodybuilding and brought Arnold Schwarzenneger to America to compete,he did'nt knowq what he was talking about though because he is'nt big like Arnold was lol.Not everyone who lifts weights does it so they can look like a pro bodybuilder.
The muscles you work here are exactly the same as the one's you use for drumming, I only have to train my inner forearm 'cause the drumming does the rest for me :)
Really you should stick to 12-15-20 reps. No lower than that because the forearms are dense. If you do less than 10 reps you won't be able to get a good pump; you might lift more weight but you need to get the blood pumping in that forearm. Keep the reps high.
@Djebulba so a band manager cant manage a band because he is not in one himself, or a soccer coach cant teach soccer because hes's not the best payer on the field??? how do u know this guy hasn't made a living training bodybuilders?? i not saying he's great but that your attitude and reason for laughing at him is stupid.
full range of movement, direct forearm work is not necessary...all things a real newbie says.
The image i have in my mind when i hear that:
a glove wearing muscless girlyman nerd in a pink muscle shirt and flip flop.
the forearms are the the last link between all the other muscles and the object you want to lift or destroy. If they are weak, you are weak. Why would you neglect them?
The deadlift is the best muscle builder of all time, NO muscles are in full range with the deadlift.
Are your muscles for using, or are they for looking at? Forearms control the strength of your hands, which I'd say are pretty damn important if you're ever going to do anything practical.
A lot of people I know can NOT bend their wrist in a straight bar that way in the correct range of motion needed. This exercise is best performed using a curl bar.
nah man both will work . its what ever u can handle start out with like 45 thoe and just keep adding like 5's on the bar or wut ever u think is right for you .
ive never done forarm exercises to target only the forarm an my forearms are quite large, this was from just doing hammer curls and bicep curls im guessing.
i've been working out for nearly 3 years, and it's not MY fault, i tend more to injure myself because my forearms are very sensitive in the joint area (not my first nor my last injury)
i heard u can develop carpal tunnel from this. that or some other kind of wrist disorders. idk if its true though. and yea my wrist be crackin from this too. i tried it but i quit
Wtf..its not my fault if my forearms are thin ..but my biceps are huge..its genetic you dummy.. my dad has huge forearms but my mom tiny..and I look like my mom..and im proud so..yeah..calm down...
The way you think is pretty stupid dude. It's like you're saying that fat people should only teach cooking because they love food and their fat bodies prove it.
Idiot. He's an excercise physiologist, not a body builder.
bth1983bth every statement you say is worthless ignorant shit. None of it is right and never will be. You a a worthless scumbag peice of shit. Go back in your basement and read a dictionary.
id bet money he could kick your ass he is just using light weight for teaching purposes if you notice in alot of deadlift training videos ppl only use like 135 lbs for the purpose of keeping perfect form
I dont normally do this excercise sitting on my knees like that I usually have my forearms flat on a bench. I'm wondering if there is much of a difference I will have to try this way.
I'm surprised about the lack of information I've found here about proper forearm development. The forearms are incredibly complex. And to get the best growth, you need to work them in many different ways. I wasted ten years of training just doing wrist curls and reverse wrist curls. Now I do sledgehammer levering, work with Heavy Grips, use rubber bands on my fingers to work the extensors directly, and I tear phone books and decks of cards up. My growth really took off when I started all that.
wrong. if you want to be more lean - diet and cardio. if you want more muscle mass use weights that always challenge you to finish the set. my friend has developed large forearms with around 15 to 20 reps for 4 to 6 sets. i have developed mine with 10 to 20 reps for 6 to 8 sets from a variety of angles. find out what works for you and REALLY train them hard. i do them twice a week.
A great mass building exercise , it's a pity it doesn't improve a grip strength.Very often the best results were obtained with 15 - 20 reps through all sets.
your small as fuck... id rather have jay cutler show me this... haha jk good vid.

12-15 is not good if you want to build weight
do 4-5 with heavy weights
Prophetelf 1 year ago
@Prophetelf Not for your forearms, abs or calves, as they are fast twitch muscles. You should use low weight with high reps.

this is hard for me.. i guess i got weak forearm
idunnooooooo 1 year ago
@idunnooooooo Firstly, try with small weight. Or just with an only bar. Keep your training up and everything will be Great.

Maybe he does not want to get big? Some people have a very fast metabolism so they have to workout just to keep at a steady weight.
Or maybe he just wants some strength behind him.
Not all people who go in the gym want to be a hulk.

Why using pronation and big bar?
No point
sarcol 2 years ago
I agree that forearm work is necessary, but whether or not to isolate them with exercises such as wrist curls is up to the individuals body type.
For some people, they get a good enough pump in the forearms on back or biceps day, others may need to have a specific time to train forearms.
To say that a certain lifting program or exercise is the best one out there or there is only one way to lift for everyone is simply not true.

dont work on your forearms unless youre willing to face an injury..
I got wrist tendonitis from doing this and couldn't workout for like 6 months till it healed
but now.. it came back, I guess it became chronic and hopefully with some rest and some supplements I will get thru this..
