  • @jasondanielpruitt Don't you know about Apple's 1985 Lemmings ad? Because these Tabco assholes just totally copied it.

  • Based on reviews, the new "promised" land is full of lemons. Sour, bitter, god-awful lemons.

  • Imitators, you should see the connector of this device.

  • this doesn't work for the ipad - people are happy with it, there is no 'cliff fall'. it might have worked for the iphone 4 given the antenna issue, but no. also 're-invigorating' the market is nonsense - it's only just over a year old and going great guns right now. finally where is the product? uh, nowhere.

long story short this is a terrible advert.

  • You guys are really original - completely unique and differentiated ad (where did you get that idea?!) and plans to invent a tablet computer (where did you get that idea?!)

  • and we'we about to weinvigowate a mawket

  • Huh?

  • Nice ad! :)

  • Even though I'm normally an Apple fan, I hope they are succesfull, I like the Ad.

  • Why do they need to 'reinvigorate' a market that is brand new and incredibly successful? Sounds like typical advertising junk.

  • i love tabasco

  • what about those who felt down?

  • Wooden iPad?

  • Apple the bitten forbiten fruit with the...all seeing eye(i)(lovers that's why people don't like that staff)....Tabcoo the multinational corp coping savior?I don't think so!

  • 1. Lemmings don't actually jump off cliffs, it was originally in a Disney documentary, and they made a set and forced a load of lemmings to jump off a cliff. From there on, the myth that lemmings jump to their death just stuck.

    2. I don't see why people hate on the iPad. It has great hardware, runs a nice UI, and developers usually focus on iOS development so iOS apps are better than on other platforms and it's the apps that key. The apps are the most important part, so iOS just, well, wins.

  • 105 Apple Employees were worried

  • i wish they will give us the way in the ad, FREE

  • because of it trending in twitter, i learned aout TabCo..and ofcourse i registered. i might win their free device i wonder what that is

  • Tabco is not a real company, "Per Se", This is a fake company created simply to not only mock the constant users/followers/praisers of Tablets. They do this in a very creative way, which now causes those same users to speculate and argue among themselves, in blogs which gives them the coolest exposure ever to whatever product they will launch. Tablet? or Something else entirely? Creative Advertising at its finest. Kudos tabco!!!

  • this reminds me of the 1984 Macintosh ad.

  • Ew, it's going to be a landscape tablet. Stupid. There goes the whole idea.

  • "Throw away your iPad!" - 2 seconds later - "Here, take a new iPad"

  • I don't get it.

They're still a bunch of monochrome, button down and slack wearing lemmings, except instead of jumping off a cliff, they're standing in formation. If the point of this commercial was to illustrate liberating "lemmings", it didn't work.

  • cool commercial!

  • Perhaps you guys need to give this thing a chance?

  • if you are smart, send me a message with your guess to who is making this tablet. ex. nokia, verizon, etc.

  • I'm glad I have some chino's and a blue shirt!

  • Uninspiring and useless.

  • TabCo, a wholly owned subsidary of Vault-Tec

  • Cool it's a 25 year old Macintosh ad.

  • Ive been working on the railroad song in the background.. thumbs up if you recognized it!

  • this shit is so lame.

  • Another complete CRAP ad from TabCo.

Here's my prediction: TabCo tablet will be Dead on Arrival (DOA) and will sell worse than Motorola DOOM (excuse me, XOOM).

  • What a douche bag, so he just let who the hell knows how many fall to their deaths and didn't say anything?! what, was he just waiting to see how many it would take to die before they realize that he`s just waving across that ledge and can go farther?! I would have punched that fucker right in the face and be like"bitch! why the fuck didn't you say anything sooner? and how many people fell off the fucking ledge?!"

  • @IronTitty You know, he's like ok you can fall, and you, and you... Wait you, I like you, *wheels the land in*.

  • @IronTitty Also btw your username = AWESOME!

  • What the heck is this? I'm confused... Please someone tell me what this is. Is it some company inventing a new tablet? Cuz if it is then that is definitely NOT "change" in any way.

  • I was actually hoping for real lemmings...

  • So instead of walking in a straight line they cluster together and walk in the same general direction...the mill about while the camera pans upward?

Yeah, clearly your re-invented wheel changed their world.

  • what makes you think you have the right to dis the ipad?

  • This seems like a religious ad.

  • Wow. At first I thought it was a video of people who voted for Obama.

  • WTF

  • what the fuck?

  • LOLWTF

  • FAKE

    AND

    GAY

  • TACO!!!!!

  • I love how everyone slanders Apple for making (usually) original products, and then blatantly copying said products in some f-ed up technological arms race, with the consumers' wallets being the prize. Seriously: more innovation, less patronization.

  • I so much wanted the front man who decided not to leap off the cliff, to look across and see the beauty, then for everyone to step forward and get pushed off instead.

  • the whole savior, messiah theme of technological innovation savings us from our mundane and problematic life is so 2010

  • missing leading title just like most of the fake youtubers

  • What the hell is this?

  • misleading title...

  • This guy is just taking advantage of poor impressionable lemming people. That's not reinventing the wheel.

  • disapointing

  • I thought this was going to actually be a lemmings game trailer. complete nerd boner kill.

  • @rm879809 I KNOW RIGHT

  • Its hard to watch this when you know that Lemmings jumping off of cliffs is a myth, look it up on snopes.

  • Massive ripoff of Apple's 1980's Mac Office "Lemmings" commercial. Some of us have long memories.

  • uhhhh

  • So that guy just stood there and watched people fall to their death's? What a Dick!

  • So what you're saying is that we're all mindless lemmings and we should just use your product because you told us to and we're too mindless to do otherwise... nice ad... I"ll stick with what I got.

  • Who needs a real book when you can have an automatically and easily updatable Bible app right on your tablet!

  • ШО ЗА ХУЙНЯ

  • pink floyd Wall

  • 10 days...

  • дебилы

  • lol from lemmings to lemmings...

  • Apple iSheeps are really pissed :) Good... suffer !

  • and still they don´t look up and see whats going on.... lol

  • nice video apple users are braindead faggots indeed ;)

  • This is just another book like device. How about freeing my hands and eyes so I don't walk off cliffs? Make that!

  • All the lemmings came here to watch this video of another shit android tablet product. If Google would pull its proverbial head of its ass, maybe things would be better, but they're too busy fucking up Google+ and increasing the prices on that useless piece of shit Chromebook that can't even run Google Analytics!! Fuck Me to Bloody Hell! What the fuck are you guys doing in Mountain View? C'mon man! Fix Android and stop fucking around! Fuck!

  • @TheYeomanDroid It isn't an Android device.

  • @TheYeomanDroid Fix Android? Fix your brain... you're gonna need it.

  • First: Lemmings don't fall to their deaths. At all. The Disny film White Wilderness had one director that decided to chase the lemmings off of a cliff and film it. That started the whole "mass suicide" thing.

Second: The main thing that will be different about Tabco's tablet is it's "predictive" user interface. This means the tablet does what it thinks you want it to, even if it's not. For tech inept people, i suppose that's nice, but for geeks like me, it would suck.

Thumbs up to stay on top.

  • This is exactly what Palm DIDN'T do with Web OS and why it failed at marketing the greatest mobile OS on the market today.

This is a great commercial. The fact that this product is coming out in weeks from it's announcement is pure marketing genius (Apple does it too) as well. Again, Palm and HP need to take notes THIS IS HOW YOU MARKET YOUR PRODUCT!

  • Fake viral crap. Some of the most sophomoric cheap film student schtick ever.

  • I'm sure glad they're here to reinvigorate an already vigorous market. Also, people with tablets that aren't theirs (which, incidentally, aren't even on the market yet) are apparently lemmings. Please, TabCo, save us from ourselves!

  • freakin lame. will not buy. will not change the market. just another player. in the end android will rule the tab market, just like it's taken over the phone market.

  • FYI: I don't want a computer/Tablet to "anticipate user needs to help perform tasks" for me. I am not Stupid. That's why I don't Like APPLE products. its for idiots who can't think.

  • People know the lemmings thing is a myth invented by Disney, right?

  • this is the most terrible "commercial". Reinvigorate the market? the tablet market? The fastest growing tech market? Unless your tablet does twice as much for half the price, you ain't doin' anything.

  • So you admire Apple's products, but you're also ok with mocking their customers.

    Right.

  • This might have already been said in the comments, but notice the sheeple are holding their new tablets in Landscape mode, not Portrait mode. Could this be alluding to something about the interface design?

  • well, exactly like apple users, altough the real apple users are more like the borg from star trek

  • 17 people fell to their deaths.

  • I don't see any females in the video??! o_O!!

  • @ahmedp800 I counted 16...most men dont wear ponytails

  • @TenDegree7 LMAO....the key word here is "MOST"....heheh

  • Same herd, different place. what's the point again?

  • Ironic that Apple's First ad Campaign was telling us to stop conforming as well. Circle of life I guess.

  • is this a new tab?

  • this is like about AIDS or like the debt ceiling or something right?

  • good old New Zealand sheep.

  • What the hell?

  • The whole "quit being an Apple drone, come over to nature" imagery would make a lot more sense for some, like, anarcho-primtivist campaign or something. Like, if the guy cranking the wheel was John Zerzan or Zack de la Rouda. But, I guess, it is what it is, lol.

  • Lolllll I love people's sarcasm from twitter :)

  • Bradford How!

  • wow i wasted 1:42 on this.

  • That commercial was about 1:30 longer than it needed to be, and still managed to say absolutely nothing at all.

  • i still dont get wth this is promoting

  • I really don't give a shit about whatever this is. They just keep TELLING us it's better, but never show anything to back it up. This is just a lame advertising gimmick to play up a garbage product. Move along...

  • LMAO @ that oriental bell that rings every time someone fell

  • This does not fall under the "parody" allowances and you could easily be sued.

  • @TheEndlessMike Sued for what exactly?

  • This has nothing to do with wheels

  • but they're all still holding the same tablet, wearing the same pants, the same shirts, and they're all looking in the same direction (i.e down)... also the description refers to current tablet users as "lemmings" who "are not very smart."

  • horrible Ad! you can´t reinvent the wheel with this!

  • What a terrible ad. I'll remember the name though. Tabco... and will never buy one of whatever headache pills they make.

  • So one tablet turns you into a sheep, the other (identical looking) tablet turns you into a sheep that can walk in something other than a straight line? I don't even own a tablet and this does nothing to change my mind. P.S the idiom "reinventing the wheel" doesn't carry a positive connotation. But it oddly seems to describe the content of this ad very well...

  • It's like a less subtle Apple Lisa ad! Brilliant!

  • Smart marketing, not telling us what it is. I'm really interested.

  • Thumbs up if you came from twitter and thought this would be something way cooler!

  • Ha ha.it is not hard to see on the comments who ownes a ipad .

  • And on that date they will release a tablet that does ABSOLUTELY... the same thing as everybody elses.

  • ...You do realize that "reinventing the wheel" has negative connotations right? It means you're just unnecessarily duplicating what somebody else has already done before. Changing from one piece of hardware to another, identical, piece of hardware is not challenging the status quo, but rather furthering it. Your marketing department needs to brush up on its symbolism and metaphors before you produce another commercial. I don't think I want you leading me down any path, I'll find my own way.

  • @batman9502 its the appel video from 1985 that is the wheel.

  • haha the ditch one tablet for another some what biblical? wtf tabco- wtf.

  • So they did trade their tablets, for a tablet. WHAT AN AD.

  • Twitter me trajo aquí... :P

  • So it looks exactly the same as the iPad?

  • for the creative... i liked it... very startegic for creating awarenss... and i liked the fact that you used twitter to drive traffic here. for the product... bridging the gap... i wonder what the gap is and how much different is the product really from iPad? i guess i'll have to wait until 8.18.11!!

  • Whoever paid for this being advertised on Twitter has just wasted a lot of money.

  • I cannot WAIT for the iPad HD, this ad for something reminds me of my next iPad purchase.

  • What about the people who fell in the chasm? I feel like I'm dead now... Why was I so naive :()

  • I hope it will be something innovative, else it would just be forgotten!

    Which is sad

  • They must also be re-inventing what the phrase "re-invent the wheel" connotes.

  • from wikipedia: "To reinvent the wheel is to duplicate a basic method that has already previously been created or optimized by others." The guy says it as though it's a good thing! Misuse of the phrase TabCo! LOL. I also agree that it doesn't give the impression that they were freed, but just joined another cult.

  • @nuclearspike you really used wikipedia for your evidence? what a logic fail.

  • @socialenigma08 Are you claiming their definition is incorrect or just dismissing the definition because it's wikipedia?

  • @nuclearspike what I said before was for both (the definition wikipedia gave I think is inaccurate rather than wrong), but the rationale is because I think certain companies have said they are "reinventing the wheel" because they are changing the way the product was before. To say reinvent the wheel, it is no doubt going to be a wheel, and I think the general public believes that, but it is going to be completely different than the wheel before it, which I think is what they were trying to imply

  • How about actually showing the product? Sigh.

  • this thing is doomed.

  • In the end, we're all still lemmings.

  • All I understood from this video is don't be an 'Apple' sheep be OUR sheep. When it comes down to it, you're no better then them.

  • @CuddlyAardvark Look up the word lemming....it's even the title of this video. Has nothing to do with sheep....

  • @CuddlyAardvark In the end, we're all somebody's sheep....unless you're a UNIX user.

  • @CuddlyAardvark Not exactly. Apple toys with their consumers by bringing out newer models instantly after the previous ones, just to milk out more money. No other company has a reputation as bad as Apple when it comes to this.

  • @CuddlyAardvark the message is not about being a sheep of the company, it's about being a sheep to the tablet. If you actually did some more research about TabCo's tablet, you would find that it is much more user responsive than the iPad, meaning that people don't have to be sheep of Apples one size fits all products

  • @CuddlyAardvark Also, I think they are calling the general public not very smart... :/ Not exactly the greatest ad campaign...

  • got a lot of good meanings... yeah good video

  • Tumbs up if you think this is a cult.

  • @Kelleymuro All successfull tablets need a cult behind them!

  • There is no way out!

  • Sent here from twitter.

  • @jakebnsn nice comment

  • 15 is waaay to far away

  • JUST GIVE ME THE DAMN TABLET ALREADY.
