@heynessa11 Nope, unfortunately it won't MAKE it grown, but it will aid in the hair growth process by exfoliating the scalp. Some times a build up of product or oil can clog a follicle preventing or hindering growth and using the baking soda will clean any residue. It will also increase blood circulation in the scalp when you massage it in which increases and stimulates hair growth. :)
@alexamorris12 Hey ! My sister has a problem with smelly scalp. Will Baking Soda get rid of that?? She does have oily hair. She has to wash everyday or else the smell comes back. please reply, thanks. btw vry Good Vid !! :D
@Nayabbb95 It should definitely help. The baking soda absorbs grease and oil. Not sure about the smell...if it is caused from oil or sweat or hair products build up the baking soda should remove all of that. But it should be used AT LEAST ONCE every week to help keep the smell from coming back.
I just now did this! it kinda feels...different. in a good way! my hair doesnt feel slimy,heavy or anything like that! i NEVER though of my hair being heavy until i tried this..it honestly made the difference! :) thank you sooo much!
@alexamorris12 If you use a lot of styling products on a daily basis I would do it like every week or every other week. I not, maybe once a month. But it wont hurt your hair if you want to do it more often. The baking soda won't do any damage even if you used it every day. Thanks :)
Will baking soda clean Oil from my hairs? because last time i tried to use with cold water, i mixed it, and it got mixed like salt...so i'm not sure about cleaning stuff
@amritapa02 Yes baking soda clans the hair an scalp and though remove oil from the hair. I mix about 1/4 a cup with just enough warm water to make a paste.
What a good tutorial! :) All the other tutorials weren't going in to enough detail really. My hair's so drab lately, just full to the brim with hair products. I think i'll do it every couple of weeks.
@Sophie109k Thank you! Yea, my hair gets dull and baking soda seems to give it back some shine and makes it feel lighter. Let me know how it works out :)
I use it like a paste as well, I just cover the baking soda barely in water in a cup. It takes longer to clean your hair than shampoo because you have to be more detailed to get every were. It's better than shampoo and my hair is shinier and I don't actually need conditioner after wards anymore. I only wash my hair 1-2 times a week( I work at home and my hair gets frizzy if over washed) and I use it every time. I even use the baking soda as a body soap instead of regular soap, its awesome!
I did not use any shampoo afterwards. Just the conditioner. It wouldn't hurt to shampoo right before you use the baking soda, but I just figured it was adding more product that I was about to strip away so it would be counter productive to shampoo first. But definitely don;t shampoo after. And only condition the ends. Your scalp should feel so clean after, almost tingly :)
how doi use it ,

It won't hurt anything necessarily, but it might actually fade the color quicker than usual.

Sorry, but what is "baking soda"? Never heard of it :)
ellinorwenner 11 months ago
@ellinorwenner Like, arm & hammer baking soda...you can buy it anywhere. Most ppl keep it in the fridge to absorb odors
alexamorris12 11 months ago
Can you do this if you color your hair (semi-permenant) ?
Thanks =)
