  • Jussi Jokinen should´ve got an interference penalty for hiting Martin Brodeur because a player can´t touch a goalie. Fuck the referees!

  • @teamracing07 Wrong. Marty was out of the crease

  • @teamracing07 goalie can be hit out of the crease, and the goalie ran into him seeing jussi wasnt even looking at him and he was clearly skating foward towards him

  • Oh my god are those really Fans throwing garbage at Martin Brodeur and the team? FUCK YOU. You people bring fucking disgrace to this sport.

  • @EVPpsycho they are throwing towles and hats for celebration of an amazing win. I don't see whats wrong with that. You people are so fucking retarded.

  • Can you overturn a goal for goaltender interference?

  • ur old. retire. ur outside the crease. shut up announcers ur retarded.

  • @plpoule Uh, yes.

  • @plpoule if its incidental contact outside the crease the gaol is allowed, look at the rules

  • @Zachhanly but when they say outside the crease they mean outside the crease, not 2 ft. outside the crease like really outside the crease

  • @laxa0997 see that blue part? yeah, thats the crease. see when you step right outside that blue part? yeah, thats called outside the crease. your definition of "outside the crease" is so vague and subjective that it would be impossible to keep call consistent. Thats why they made the crease BLUE.....

  • @Zachhanly the rule book is intended to be taken literally for just that fact.

  • I was at this game! CRAZY LOUD!! Probably the best ending to any game of any sport I've ever experienced!

  • I was SO MAD when this happened. IMO turning point of the series for the Devils

  • they did not play .2 seconds

  • there was contact nontheless, weather he wasnt positioned or not.

  • @plpoule The play was reviewed and was not called as interference. Marty caused it anyways, 100% his fault.

  • @plpoule How so?

  • it clearly shows that it went in before time expires now pause it at 1:23 it clearly shows marty out of the crease and pause again at 2:47 you can see marty turn his right shoulder and bump into Jokinen.

  • Just to clarify, Doc is a great announcer, he does a great job at making things interesting. His color commentator in this game, however, is a total moron. I've heard him call other games, and he seems like he has never actually watched hockey before. "What a emotionally wrecking of the stomach game." Yeah, great description. He doesn't even let Doc get a word in after the goal.

  • @ender4400 There is a reason Doc won a sports emmy. I think the reason Doc didn't say anything was to spare the embarrassment of the color guy by saying "no you're just wrong"

  • @pokefan2009 Respectfully, perhaps you need to read the rulebook again. 69.1 clearly states that incidental contact is permitted so long as it's not intentional or player can make attempt to avoid. You're grasping at straws if you think Jokinen made a blatant attempt to interfere with Brodeur, who still got set for the shot without issue. If it was an intentional interference, Brodeur never would have gotten set up to make the save. But it wasn't , so the non-call was correct.

  • Even Chico Resh (the Devils homer color analyst ) said he didn't think Jokinen bumped into Marty outside the crease on purpose. Based on that --if he knew the rules as well as the referees--he'd know that no call was necessary.

  • My mistake. They did make contact but even if it was intentional (which it was clearly not) Brodeur still had time to get in position and make the save.

  • The funny thing is........Jokinen and Brodeur never made contact ever.

  • i wish that was Rask

  • retard refs are retarded

  • This goal should have been disallowed as in the NHL rulebook 69.4 Contact Outside the Goal Crease - If an attacking player initiates any contact with a goalkeeper, other than incidental contact, while the goalkeeper is outside his goal crease, and a goal is scored, the goal will be disallowed. Should be a NO GOAL

  • @pokefan2009 exactly , its a no goal when the player initiates contact but in this instance its brodeur initiating contact hence a good goal ! GOOD CALL

  • @canuckvancity NO, he was in his crease and standing firmly still, as he gets bumped, NO GOAL, SHITTY CALL, your blind it's apparent

  • @pokefan2009 1. Lets keep this at a hockey argument and dont call me blind, cusses etc.

    2. He was not in his crease and not at all standing still, so both your points are invalid.

  • @canuckvancity Omg you can't read can you? IT DOESN'T MATTER IF HE WAS IN THE CREASE OR NOT AS STATED IN THE NHL RULEBOOK, and there was some forward momentum, not much but there was and as he was skating up, the forward saw marty moving up, at 2:46, he saw marty moving up. The goalie cannot be hit at all inside or outside the crease, thats what the newer hockey fans don't understand, you guys really need to read the rulebook

  • @pokefan2009 i dont know why you are shouting when clearly in your previous comment you said htat brodeur was in his crease standing still and suddenly you are screaming that it doesn't matter. brodeur lowered his shoulder to get the contact and then jumped so iunno what you are trying to prove.

  • @canuckvancity Well the 1st part wasn't correct on my part, but he was standing kinda still, just a bit outside of his crease, and it does not matter if he lowered his shoulder, what could marty do? move out of the way to let it go in? and looking at about 1:24, he didn't lower his shoulder, his shoulder was not down, idk what kinda game your watching

  • @pokefan2009 ok if you are someone who has watched hockey a long time then you should be able to tell that clearly the goalie is looking for contact in this case. i dont care if you agree with me or not, i got better shit to do , your gonna believe what you want to so w/e. peacee

  • @canuckvancity lol he had no idea that he was gonna get hit, look how marty almost fell. that wasn't a fair game, full of horseshit

  • @pokefan2009 iite bro you win i lose

  • Comment removed

  • @pokefan2009 He was not in the crease he was moving into the player who had his back turned and was moving sideways and not even really backwards. This is clearly a case of incidental contact and if you dont want to call it that its the goalie initiating contact with the player not the other way around. good goal.

  • @Hornet3O Omg you are stupid, read my 1st comment, he cannot touch the goalie in or outside of the crease, and he could have heard marty and he knows how far marty was, he's not that stupid. and it really doesn't matter forwards or backwards. The goalie was like you said hit from the side, which is nearly impossible to see when your looking dead infront of you, SHOULDN'T BE A GOAL, HORRIBLE CALL

  • @pokefan2009 lol he could have heard Marty!? have you ever played even played hockey yet alone skated? Clearly your knowledge of this game is minimal. Stop being a bitter devils fan; Brodeur is a great goalie but this one should be a goal since the interference is clearly not the players fault. Stuff like this happend more than you think. Go watch an actual hockey game and see how much contact there normally is between goalies and players. This is a good goal.

  • @Hornet3O Wow, im not a devils fan, i do not hate the hurricanes either, i play AAA hockey, and goalies are always yelling, how is it not the players fault? he saw marty skating forward, And you are plain stupid, THIS IS NOT A GOOD GOAL BECAUSE IT WAS DELFECTED INSIDE OF THE GOAL, WHICH HE HAD CONTACT WITH THE GOALIE TO SCORE FOR, NO GOAL, my uncle was a ref, knows the rules by heart and he says this is a tough call, but no goal, im not blind there WAS CONTACT.

  • @pokefan2009 There is no way you can argue that the player could hear Brodeur that's absolutely ridiculous. I will agree it was a close call that could have gone either way, but there is no way the forward was skating into him on purpose. While Brodeur could see the forward the player couldn't see him. Therefore this is incidental contact on the players part. How do you not understand that?

  • @Hornet3O I can hear the goalies screaming, so shut up, what your saying is stupid, It doesn't matter, he hit the goalie and he SAW Marty move up, he KNEW he was gonna get hit, and like in the rulebook, you CANNOT touch the goalie inside or out of the crease, why don't people understand that?

  • @pokefan2009 yeah sure goalies talk and yell and stuff, but that's not at all an applicable argument. You really think a ref is gonna be like "oh he could have heard there was a guy there so its his fault he backed into him..." It would be one thing if the player was skating into the crease at the goalie, but it was the goalie skating out into him! The forward had no idea the goalie was there and out that far cause brodeur was in his crease when you see the guy look over.

  • @Hornet3O Yeah, the fact that he SAW Marty is enough of an argument, Marty was just cutting out the angle, he SAW marty, Marty could not see him from the side of the mask, and why the fuck would he be moving so close to the net? he couldn't move up a little more? He knew he would fuck Marty up and you should know that too. Should be a Disallowed goal, and he saw that marty was far up so there is no question about the fact that he saw marty far up, Dumb ref

  • 1:23 is interference part tht should've never counted but they took shot 1 second later so i dont know but i agree with marty

  • Last time I checked, when a goalie is out of the crease and a player doesn't really try to make contact, it's not an interference call. Let's go Canes!

  • @NoScss don't call me retarded it wasn't interference! Brodeur was the one looking for the contact!

  • Fuck Chico.

  • @manwalrus go fuck yourself

  • The announcer said Marty went "right away" to the official to complain when in fact he only turned to grab a drink from the water bottle and then just stood there waiting for the announcement. He didn't complain until after it was called a goal.

  • That's fuckin horse shit, reminds me of when Avery was pulling that screening shit in the face playoffs last year. Jokienen had plenty of room to go in front of marty, but chose to make contact.

  • "bump a marty party"....that's what ususally goes on in the Devils locker room anyway...

  • screw all of you... doc is the best announcer in the league by fact thats why hes aked to do the olympics, and stanley cup every year

  • i was born and raised in columbia sc, but even I know that there was no interference

  • Went to this game... Been to 10 canes games b4 and this was one of them. And the commentator was an idiot... HOW IS THAT INTERFERENCE WHEN THE GOALIE IS OUT OF THE DAMN CREASE! LOL

  • nice cains fans btw just pointing out them throwing shit at the greatest goaltender of all time

  • How bout he stays in the crease?

  • @InfectedTony27 he'd be a pretty shitty goalie if he didn't challange shots from the point...

crease only is only used for icings the players shooting and penalty shots/shootouts it doesn't effect where the goalie can/is allowed to move

    soz for double post btw

  • you could hear the clock horn briefly but you can hear the goal horn as well but it was a good call call despite time running out it was a good goal

  • Sting3733 is right he's not the best if he is not clear what goalie interfence is brodeur needed to be inside the crease for it to be interferencet

  • @devilshockey14 sry but that's just how I feel he's not the best to me

  • I don't blame Brodeur at all for being pissed though. Letting in a goal at .2 seconds left must of devastated him.

  • hahahahaha, is there a bigger homer than Chico Resch? Brodeur was so clearly outside the crease

  • guy was skating backwards not looking but marti went outside the crease to make contact...regardless he got back into position 100% a goal quit whining.im a gaolie too i know the rules bra

  • he had time to set up for the shot whether he was interfered with or not...

  • this would be incidental interference.

  • Haha lol

  • PC users, hold crtl+alt and press left. Thumbs up for awesome PC ability and for awesome goal

  • @TheSkiddey Old.

  • Pause the fuckin vid at 0:46 ....you see how out of place he is to go for the embellishment

  • no interference there buddy. Brodeur was out of the crease there. Means no interference. You think hockey announcers would know this. This guy is ridiculous!!!! Brouder skated into jokinen, not the other way around!!!!!! COME ON MANN!!!

  • Brodeur looks very mad that was goaltender interferance

  • I was disappointed at In Lou We Trust after this mess. The chief writer there seemed to have caught homer disease. There's one very simple fact that can establish the legality of this goal: Jokinen was moving towards an area OUTSIDE the crease and was NOT looking in Brodeur's direction while he was doing so. Because he was unaware of Brodeur's presence and because Brodeur was outside the crease when the contact occurred, the contact was the DEFINITION of incidental.

    Chico is a tool.

  • CRY MARTY CRY. Boohoo I didnt get my way. what a baby

  • He must have ripped up the lockerroom after that.

No interference by the way. Fatso needs to stay in his crease. But I know that's hard for him.

  • "If you're a Canes fan, you can't say that he's outside the crease so he can be hit." Actually you can, Jokinen didn't see Broduer coming... Plus, Brodeur was the one looking for the contact. Commentator sucks I like John Forslund

  • @tamuch2312sas21 thats chico resch...and hes the biggest homer youll ever hear callin a hockey game..whats worse is that he was a goalie, and not that good either...just his voice annoys me...

  • @tamuch2312sas21 I'm saying this from the bottom of my heart. Mike Emrick is the absolute best announcer in sports. You just said the commentator sucks.. if your talking about chico resch. then yes he sucks/ but if you talking about Doc you should die a tragic death

  • @tamuch2312sas21 chico is one of the best commentators ever and yea i agree brodeur was outside the crease and the guy didnt see him but he still should have gotten the penalty because penalties like that are called all the time when guys dont mean to do those things

  • @captmorganweiss That's not a penalty. Especially when the goalie initiates the contact.

  • @dolphinsneu yes it is

  • @captmorganweiss That's not a penalty. Jokinen has the right to be where he is. Brodeur skated directly into him. If Brodeur had established position and Jokinen ran into him, THEN it would have been penalty. However, the opposite happened.

  • @tamuch2312sas21 are u so retared jokinen go backwards into him omfg

  • @NoScss Jokinen goes backwards and Brodeur skates about three feet in front from the crease right into Jokinen. And then he acts like Jokinen has cooties.

  • Good for Marty.

  • Oi YA, das an inerFEWance wow that guy needs to shut up

  • haha i know this comment is year late, but come on! every time i see it, jokinen is far out of the crease, how far do they want him to be the hash marks?

  • the cardiac canes as pierre maguire said on tsn, during the hurricanes playoff run

  • at exactly 2:47 marty is square to the puck but not the net, he was trying to get in jokinens way to get an interference call to stop play. good call by the refs. devils and canes both suck though.. so who cares.

  • I'm a flyers fan. but I do agree on the interference thing. but I do agree that the other guy didn't mean to bump into marty.

  • Chico Resch is the worst commentator in the history of professional sports.

  • they were both outside the crease it was obvious that Jokinen didnt try to hit Marty

but that really crashed Martys party

  • That anouncer is retarted!!! even if that hit on Broduer was in the crease (which it wasnt!!), it didnt restrict him from makin the save that he could have made... and bump a marty party......??

  • The color commentator is a joke and is known to be an enormous homer,

  • They were both skating to the same area of the ice, outside the crease, and happened to collide. Unfortunate for Brodeur but NOT a penalty. In fact, if you want to call that a goaltender interference penalty, then one could easily make a case for Interference by Brodeur on Jokinen for a "pick." Jokinen didn't know he was going to be hit and Brodeur blocked his path...that's a pick, as the NHL Rulebook specifically states.

  • Announcers suck! There was no interference on the play, Marty was out of the box and tried to get a call by moving into Jokinen's way. Marty fucked himself plain and simple.

  • @Sting3733 same with you.. ANNOUNCER. NOT ANNOUNCERS. mike emrick is the best announcer in sports. shut up

  • @devilshockey14 It's my opinion and if you don't like it, I don't care. He's obviously a moron if he thought that was a penalty.

  • @Sting3733 your a retard!!! Brodeur can go where he wants... the guy had it as the point so hes obviouly going to move out and challange to take his net away.

its Jokinen's job not to run into him not Brodeur's job to make sure that jokinen doesn't run into him...

and the "box" doesnt mean anything he can be in the canes blue line and he still can't take physical contact.

you can't defend yourself when your wearing that kind of equipment

  • @ExtremeSpawn525 Jokinen was turned around backwards, while Marty intentionally moved in front of him to get hit. 100% Brodeur's fault.

  • @Sting3733 i hate getting into youtube fights btw

brodeur had the right to move out to challange the point shot even if jokinen was in the way of brodeur moving out to challange the point its still interfearing with the goalies ability to stop the puck jokinen needs to be aware of whats going on around him.

and after watching this a third time due to people keep replying to my comments i notice that brodeur stopped for a good few seconds before jokinen ran into him.

  • @ExtremeSpawn525 Well according to the league it was not a penalty. Therefore this was Broduer's fault, not Jokinen.

  • @Sting3733 according to the refs it was not a penalty... the refs make wrong calls all the time,,,

  • Comment removed

  • @ExtremeSpawn525 Well, this wasn't the wrong call. Bye

  • @Sting3733 agree to disagree

  • @ExtremeSpawn525 A good few seconds? Lmao. In slow motion, he was only stopped for only half a second.

  • @xMILLZEx k this fight or w/e me and sting were arguing about ended over a week ago im sick of yelling at kids over the internet i think it was a bad goal the anouncers think it was a bad goal you think it was a good goal the refs thought it was a good goal

    now stfu and drop it

  • @Sting3733 Fuck no. You just don't like him... Fuck you. It was interference, even it was accidental. Shouldn't of been a goal. FUCK THE CANES!... And He's in the Crease dumbshits... It's not just that little blue semi-circle, it the goalie crease actually extends farther...

  • @mounsteres Aww a poor Devils fan got his feelings hurt. Save it for someone who cares.

  • @Sting3733 FUCK THE DEVILS.

  • @mounsteres

fuck the canes.. o and nice way to finish the season this year :)

  • @mako316 I'm not a fucking Canes fan! I'm a Red Wings fan! But I do support good goalies.

  • @mako316 How did the Devils finish?

  • Who's announcers are these?

  • @Samwize047 devils.. they its chico.. he always protects the goalies

  • bump-a-marty-party?

i was tryin to give the commentator a break, but after that comment, I concur. Announcer is an idiot.

  • That commentator is an idiot legal hit

  • brodeur was out of his blue protection area, he got bumped yes but was legal right?

  • shit lool that really sucks for brodeur

  • It's very rare to see Marty getting angry like this after a contreversial goal.

  • The announcer is being a homer.

Jokinen was moving right to left well outside of the crease. Brodeur initiated contact by moving into Jokinen. Jokinen's back was to Brodeur and he was 2 feet from the crease. Marty initiated the contact by moving forward. Instead of moving right to left himself, Brodeur opted to run into Jokinen.

Had it been the other way around, had Jokinen targeted Brodeur, then it would have been interference.

  • stop bitching Marty. Sean Avery owns u

  • @MrCraigster2010

Dunno how you can say that...brodeur is a future hall of famer, what is Sean Avery?

  • fkin bull, tht should had been a penalty.

  • @16UnknownSoldier16 why? Brodeur tried to initiate the contact.

  • @16UnknownSoldier16

Sorry,But Brodeur tried to draw a penalty and failed. It Was Incidental Contact and NJ Lost the game due to it.

I'm A Wings fan, This call is nothing compared to some of the shit I've seen....

  • @SetsunaTheAngel ur a wings fan eh. well what are you doing in this video when wings are not even here. trader much.

i just went here cause my friend send me this video.

  • @16UnknownSoldier16

One,It's "Traitor". Two My Friend from Carolina asked me to look at this to settle an argument.

I Know a bit about what's goalie interference due to watching Ciccarelli and then Holmstrom play.

  • @Duckshockey01 lol keep cryin bitch :)

  • @Duckshockey01 wah wahhh wahhhh keep crying.

  • @norjak71

Shut up. You're an Insult to Wingnuts EVERYWHERE>

  • @SetsunaTheAngel wahhh wahhh wahhh keep crying lol. your the embarrasment bitch lol.

  • @norjak71

I'm not the ass-child playing Internet tough guy on youtube. Go Jump off a bridge norjak

  • K you people really think that the best goaltender in the NHL and a veteran is going to go complain to a ref if he knows the call is valid.

  • Man that anoucer was a kiss ass, I mean it was obviously a goal. What an idiot. " Oh, it's interference wah wah waaaah!!!"

  • Dear brodeusche.... you are a goalie, you belong in the net. please stay there

    kthxbai

  • Chico is an idiot he says "if you're a Canes' fan you can't say he's outside the crease" and then the replay clearly shows Brodeur skate 3 feet out of his creases to bump Jokinen. One of the biggest homer calls I have ever heard

  • it was goalie interference bitches

  • @megadonuts123 lol keep crying all youw ant, not even a canes fan, i just love how devils fans think theyre team is good, even decent lol, your good during the reg season. IF THAT. youll never be compared to detroit ever, detroit is leaps and bounds better than you. suck on that, your team jus sucks dick, first round exit first roun exit first round exit, lol. love it, cant wait to hear all the shittalkers again this year. hahaha.

  • @norjak71 u obviously dont know what ur talking about... the devils are a better team than the redwings will ever be. right noe if they played each other, the devils will shit on them. reagrless how badly they choke in the playoffs, the devils are the top team for the other 82 games of the season

  • lol you just insulted your own team and you dont even know it lol. go look up there records over the last decade and tlel me whoes better, go tell me who has more cups, who wins win it fucking COUNTS MORON. my god your beyond retarded. oh my god my teams so much beter than the wings cause we win when it doesnt count, but they win cups so yeah, who cares at least were good in the reg season lol. spoken like a true devils fan, completely retarded haha. one more thing. hockeytown. BITCH

  • @norjak71 That's such a good way to repersent your favorite team! Je wiz, your favorite team has such great fans that never wine and bitch! Seriously, just accept other fans instead of being an asshole.

  • @megadonuts123 how is that goalie interference? Brodeur skated directly into Jokinen. Jokinen had his back to Brodeur was outside the crease, where he has a right to be. Brodeur should have stayed in his crease. Then, he could have gotten over there early and been in better position to make a play on the puck.

  • @megadonuts123 Look in a hockey rule book

  • @megadonuts123 It's a goal because brodeur tried to make the save. If a cane player knocked him down, pushed him out of the way, or held him so he couldn't move, that would be goalie interference, there for it would be no goal. But brodeur recovered from the small hit and tried to stop the puck with a butterfly. It's a goal

  • he was out of the crease to challenge the shot and and goalie interference can be called if the goalie is out of his crease.. but i dont know if he would have stopped it if he didnt get run into

  • brodeur has to make that play

  • the announcer is correct. you can not make contact with the goalie whether he is inside or outside the crease. goalies are not fair game. for everyone calling out the announcer, you don't know shit. and im not just saying that because im a devils fan. the call is correct, but not just because brodeur was out of the crease, but that the contact was incidental, not deliberate.

  • @0zachNJDparise9 you say the announcer is correct and then you say the call is correct. Which is it?

I'll answer for you: the call is correct. That is not inference. Jokinen was outside the crease and Marty ran directly into him. Marty initiated the contact.

  • @dolphinsneu the call is correct yes, but not just b/c brodeur was out of the crease. i was directing my comment to the people who think it is a goal only because he was out of the crease and calling out the announcer

  • Brodeur was the one who was seeking out Jokinen. He went looking for that contact.

  • xD goalie interference my ass. he was screening and Brodeur came out of the crease. The announcer is a complete asshole.

  • How's that interference when Brodeur was a good 30cm outside of the crease with Jokinen's back to him?

I'm a Wings fan, by the way.

  • chico really needs to take fat boy martys dick outa his mouth. every game he sucks his dick

  • Dude if you were there broduer was interfered before the shot.

  • @Jonesyful10 legal play. Marty was the one who left the crease and skated into Jokenin. Jokenin had his back to Brodeur, so that was incidental contact.

  • @dolphinsneu haha jokenin :D its jokinen :D

  • @Jonesyful10 If Marty skated out to the faceoff circle and was bumped incidentally, would it be interference? No. And that's virtually the same situation as this was. A goalie's area is the crease. He cannot skate outside of the crease and expect to be safe from incidental contact.

  • wow this commentator guy is makin more excuses than probly even brodu..... o nvm, bordeur is a lil bitch so probly not

  • hahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • All our good d-men either left or retired....and the younger ones are inexperienced....i counted 4 Devils that were right in the line of the puck and it went right by them, Marty is always blamed when the devils lose simply because he's pretty much been carrying us on his back.

  • lmao he says im not trying to be a homer here

  • not that it would have made a difference or anything, but shouldn't there have been a faceoff for the remaining 0.2?

  • Is Chicho Resch serious? Is he really gonna say that Marty was in the crease as the replay is CLEARLY SHOWING HIM IN THE CREASE? Resch is so fucking annoying because no matter what, in his mind, the Devils are perfect. He did the same thing in a shootout against the Rangers. Erik Christensen scored a goal that hit both posts but was just barely over the line and before anyone said anything, he immediatley assumed it was no goal. Your little team from Newark ain't perfect, Chico.

  • this was a NO GOAL goalie was touched.

  • Broduer was out of the crease... It was his fault.. no penalty.

    Goal.

But it doesn't matter. Penguins smushed us like pumpkin pie anyways. : p

  • @Jumpieboi Yeah he was out of the crease but the rule is a man can not disable the goal from making a save...and thats what he did brodeur tried to go right and couldn't because he got knocked into

  • Comment removed
