  • Forman is God

  • I saw this movie in the theater when it first came out, and two amazing things happened: 1) At the end of the movie as the credits were rolling, nobody left the theater or moved; in fact, there was complete silence, as the screen went blank and the lights came up. I've never experienced this in a movie theater before or since. 2) I won a contest in which I predicted that Amadeus would sweep the Oscars. I had never won anything before that.

  • making off? making off with what?

  • @yh3e The making of the movie, stupid.

  • @MysMultilanguagesFav I was making fun of the spelling error in the title, stupid

  • goose pimples lulz

  • vintage forman. they dont make them like this no more.

  • HIS WIFE IS SO HOT IN IT

  • BEST MOVIE IN THE WORLD

  • @Cluebert i agree too. i would rather Hulce would have gotten the adward because he was the reason i love that movie so much!

  • "The first film to have music as its leading character". That's a great line.

  • haha goose pimples :D

  • This movie it's great if you take it like it is: a movie.

  • This is what I love about some film directors. They don't care how famous the actors are. As long as the actor can become the character.

  • Amadeus is the simplest reason why 3D movies the entertainment movies will never ever achivee a certine level a intelectuall level that we all miss so mutch in movies today.

  • Amadeus was obessed with music like Bruce Lee was with Martial Arts..

  • Greatest fictitious biopic ever.

  • I LOVE THIS DOCUMENTARY.

This is one of the few "Making Ofs" that really capture the magic and chemistry of movie making. Fantastic

  • AAAH! Look at 4:40 - Ian McKellen as Salieri!! MAN, I would've loved to see that.

  • rock me amadeus

  • Does anyone know what piece is playing from the start to 02:06? Probably something in E flat major?

  • Symphony No.25 in G minor, K183. He wrote it at 17, it's not one of his more sophisticated works.

  • @EmperorOfWei It's called "symphonia concertante"

  • Thanks for posting this! I saw this ages ago when a friend loaned me the dvd - love it.

  • mozart!

    say no more..

  • Such a great movie, great to hear the stories of it's making.

  • tom hulce is so cute <3

  • "First film with music as its leading character"? I don't think so. Think back to American Graffiti.

  • Behind Peter Shaffer there is a easter egg.

  • Is there really?? I'm gonna find my DVD and check it out. I love easter eggs. I don't know how people find them though! :p

  • Love the costume design in this movie...

  • Yeah, everything looked as it must have back then; it wasn't all Hollywood pastiche. It looked like someone did some actual research on the clothing, make-up & wigs of the period. Even tho food looked authentic.

  • What is the music playing at 3:49 to 4:20

  • its the Piano Concerto in E Flat, K. 482; 3rd Movement. one of my favorites to play.

  • Thank You! :)

  • best movie ever!!!!i love tom hulce and his acting is so good i can't discribe it!!!

  • i have not seen this yet.

    where can i get?????

  • We have to give full credit to the great Saul Zaentz, whose idea it was to create this marvelous film and helped finance it!

  • Amadeus is a beautiful film, when I first saw it, I was mixed about it, but it really grows on you. The story, the acting, the cinematography. Milos Forman went all out to create a lavish epic.

  • This is my favorite movie of all time. Thank you for posting this!

  • best movie ever!!

  • I am sure he had an interesting life...but his music speaks for itself. One of the best composers of all time ;)

  • Great movie, but not completely true. Keep that in mind.

    MOZART ROCKS!!!

  • ...

  • um...you mean 0.1% false lol

  • ??????

    its not???

is there a book on him??

  • There are plenty of books on him. The greatest error the film makes is that Salieri hated Mozart. On the contrary: they were, at most, riendly rivals, and admirers of each other's music. Also, Mozart did not work on the Requiem in his dying hours. He worked on it a few days prior to his death, before his hands became too swollen with rheumatic fever to continue.

  • it's not exactly the film that messed up, its was based on the play, which in turn was based on an opera from some 100 years eariler, when people knew even less about the situation between mozart and salieri. but its still a great story!

  • we saw this movie at school

  • how old r u there is a scene that is mature

  • I admit that I like those costume films! They raise imagination in my mind and a flair for art in picture and music. I started to love paintings and classical music thanks to such films

  • Jeffery Jones got Heavy... He was a good actor.. too bad he turned out to be fucked up. I still don't like F Murry Aberham.. This is good but some 'secret's' should remain secret. Like Tom's piano playing in the movie.. Blew the magic for me...

  • Kdo z našeho národa by nebyl na Formana pyšný... :)

  • Superb movie. Thanks for the making of upload!

  • Wonderful, i just don't have the correct words for it! maravillous!!!

  • Jeffery Jones "We're all going to go to jail."

Well, in his case it was true later on. Oops.

  • Mozart just smiles

  • A story beyond time

    A story beyond myth

    A story beyond actors

    A story beyond Oscars

The story of love for music....

  • thanks for uploading!!

  • thanks very much for the upload...this is THE best movie of all times.
