@V1Ncento The production on TCMC is NOT that great, actually. The production he's done on [id], The New Reign, and The Faceless' albums is all much better than what he did with TCMC. The mix on that album is appalling. The drums just EAT the low end, and the guitars are over-distorted, and have no midrange presence. Don't get me wrong, TCMC is one of my absolute favorite albums, but the production on it could be much better.

I think it depends what you consider 'quality'. I agree that the sound on the albums you mentioned is more clear and the different mix is more separated (individual recordinig tracks are more individually defined). Like a perfect example for a sound tech in education. But i happen to like the somewhat compressed and distorted sound, raw instead of tidy. I can still hear what the musicians do, even if a crash cymbal gets fecked up by a guitar shred, it sounds more brutal.

I prefer a big low end that's dominated by the bass and kick drums, and a good midrange in the guitar and snare, with cymbals in the high end, so that everything sort of balances out *shrug*
